Ron, We usually don't know when the next drop occurs. They went to $12 for about 4 weeks then down to $9. They've been their for two weeks now. I'm thinking if they drop again it will be $6 but don't quote me on that. We'll see if they stay that way for a month. Chris

The most recent Grave Digger was done by AMT. Revell did a real nice snap one. Chris Here's what I have by AMT: Revell: Lindberg: That's the ones I have. I have yet to build one, but had to have them. The Revell kits aren't available now and they are 1/16 scale. Just some of my youth revisited I guess. Chris

Where Do You Work And Paint?
crispy replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dale, Thanks for the tip! I'll have to try it out. I bought 2 cases of filters before our hobby shop closed so I got a good deal. I'm on my last case now. Should last the rest of this year, but I'll pick up a 20x20 and play with it. Dale, do you line your booth with anything? I use wax paper but have been thinking of trying out that press and seal. The wax paper is much cheaper alternative though. Stanley, I keep an eye out for them on HLJ.com. Aoshima and Fujimi usually release 2-4 different types a couple times a year. Gotta buy them when they come out or you'll miss out. The only guy I know that has more than me is Marc Nellis, he's the real wheel slut! I like to have options as the kit wheels leave a lot to be desired. Chris -
Just a side note guys. Their should be a coupon coming up once again. Another 40% off one. This coming month has three coupons coming and one week that does not. Keep an eye on some of the fliers as they also will include a bonus coupon for the next week. Anyway, the kits at my store are pretty much almost gone. I'm trying to find out what will be going in their place. I'm hoping new Revell kits, but I'm not sure. I'm also going to see what it will take to talk to the buyer for these stores to add some diversity. I'd like to see Michael's at least rival Hobby Lobby as far as kits are concerned. Chris

I have three paint racks. Two from a now closed hobby shop and one from a Hobby Lobby that replaced the old racks with new ones. I paid $2.00 for the HL rack. I have another rack in storage that holds Model Master bottle paints only. -

Ahh, yes, Frank is right. You've got the custom rides one. I bought the Resto Rods kit which is 2'n1 and has all the extras. The kit you have only has the big wheels. I apologize. I wasn't paying attention to your box. Chris -
Lindberg's Raminator and Rammunition are available and are very very nice as well as pretty accurate. Lots of bashing could be done with other truck bodies if one so desires. Chris

I picked it up myself. I bought it to "restify" my tubbed Nova. It appears most everything with exception to the tubbed chassis is in the kit. Lots of extras. It comes with hub-caps, big wheels and another set of regular wheels. I really don't see much wrong with the kit at all. In fact I think it goes together well. You'll enjoy it. Chris -
Ya know, I was wondering, does anyone live near MK DB? I mean if they did, It would be easy to compile a list of questions right here for said person to ask Dave. Said person could write down Dave's answers. Throw a rough draft together, fine tune it and send it in to Model Cars mag for all to read and enjoy, of course it would be gratis, as I hear the pay at MCM isn't really all that great , but getting yourself published is huge in and of itself in my opinion. So anyone live over in Toms River NJ??? (yeah, I had to check the bottom of an MK box) Chris

Where Do You Display Your Masterpiece
crispy replied to stanleymsn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have an old 6 ft. hobby shop wood and glass case I can put at least 100 models in: I also have a tall glass case in my shop with 4 levels that I put other kits in: I've also got a Giovanni plastics 1/18 scale 12 car display case. I find this offers more room for some of the bigger vehicles. No pic of that one though. Plenty of space to display. I display them all in my basement near my hobby room. Chris -
That is a great idea. I'll be honest, I know MK Dave Burkett as the guy who gets me models of stuff I haven't seen for a very long time if ever. After that I don't know him from anything else? Who is he? Why is is passion so strong? What prompted him into doing this? And many more questions. I'm re-living a childhood with models I never saw as a kid. I'd sure like to know more about the man too. Chris

That's a lot of work you got into it and it shows. Looks like it all fits very well. Nice and clean too. I look forward to seeing you finish it! Chris

Ron, I mentioned this over on the SA board too, they will not let you use a coupon on "SALE" items, however "CLEARANCE" items can use a coupon. I'm a supervisor at Michael's and that is allowable. Their is a difference. The kits aren't on sale, but are on clearance. Chris
-
Don't forget to use the coupons on the "Clearance" kits that drops the price down to $5 and change(since the AMT kits are on clearance for $9, down from $12 a week ago)!! Definitely worth the money. Chris

Albert, I really love your fat black sled. That is just too cool! You've got some great Mercs in your collection. Chris

Don, that's beautiful! I'm not a big red car fan, but I do know that some of those big old muscle cars look the business in red. Yours is no exception. Very nice! Chris
-
Wow Ismael! WOW! You've really out-done yourself. Fantastic!! Chris

David, I commented on your car over at AF and again, Absolutely flawless build. You should pick up the clear body for the PC GT to show off that beautiful under-skin. Just beautiful! The blue works and your CF work is unbelievable. Any chance you'll do a tutorial on that? Chris
