  1. Yeah, that looks great. I'll have to try later today to see if I can get a shadowed area and snap a few more outdoor pics. Jameston I was wondering if you care to use my Porsche on your site? Chris
  2. We DEMAND photo's Gregg! Seriously, that's a top five must see event. Chris
  3. One thing to add to Bill's sentiments. Make sure the BMF is brand new fresh. I just opened up a brand new sealed package and already have to cut around the wrinkles, which if you don't they tear. There are a few other companies with their own style bmf too. Just have to look for them. Chris
  4. Thanks Guys! I appreciate the comments. Marcos, thanks for the advice. I do believe at one time you mentioned this before. Today was a good day for pictures, but as I was setting up the clouds parted and the rest is history. I was hoping to be able to shoot it with the cloudiness we had. I just finished it too late when the clouds broke. I'll certainly try again with that advice. Thanks again. Chris
  5. Tamiya Porsche 911 GT3 Paint: Macadamia Metallic by Scalefinishes Box stock It doesn't photo too well, but the color is beautiful. I saw this on a few Porsche's at the 2008 Auto Show and instantly fell in love. Complete with MN. plates too! Indoor shots: Outdoor shots: I did leave off a few of the GT3 bits like the side spoilers and the front lip spoiler. It was really a test bed to see what Jameston's paints did and how they worked. I'm pretty happy with it. Chris More at MY FOTKI 911 Porsche
  6. Alright, now I got to see them. Maybe the bandwidth hits its max and they go offline for a bit. I dunno. 404 Funny now Found! Thanks Chris
  7. Marc, that build is totally what you are about. Cool styling, aggressive stance and a gotcha factor. Great work and cool car. Glad to see you back. Chris
  8. Just from what you mentioned, do you also have a water trap? Either on the compressor or in-line before the airbrush and closest to it. Chris
  9. Len, that is correct. Just used plasti-kote t-237 with no adverse effects. Chris
  10. Tonio, I look forward to that one! The Gallardo is one of my favorites. However, I love Lamborghini's anyway with the Countach being my number one favorite. I'm very curious as to the color you'll be doing. I think the Fujimi Sportec Mono 10 wheels would look good on it. I started one of these in Ballon White. Ran into a lot of problems and hope to get back to it someday. Please post progress!! Chris
  11. Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments. I fixed a few flaws I saw after picture taking so it looks much better now. As for the questions. Prep work on the body, as Ismael says, is very vital to get the smoothest best looking paint job you can get. It starts with the plastic itself. I sand all mold lines and seams if any. Fill spots and prime. Once primed I usually wet sand with 1500 grit or so. Look for more imperfections and re-coat as needed with wet sanding each time. Once I get some color misted on I will wet sand that as well and leave the final color coat as is unless something is in the paint. Then mist on clear, wet sand. Final coats of clear get the wet sanding and rubbing. Paint jobs usually take me a good week to do. One day spent on rubbing and polishing alone. As for the paint itself, yes that is a Factory GM color. Atomic Orange. I used Cobra Colors for that. Scalefinishes also produces this color. Again, Thank You! Chris
  12. James, it should be every store nationwide. You can check with your local Michael's store. Or go to www.theknack.com or www.michaels.com Chris
  13. I'm with Gregg! You can't go wrong. Fast shipping and great customer service if something does go wrong. I once got a Ferrari body that was cracked. Took a picture emailed them and within a week or two I had another replacement body. No questions. That's where I get most (95%) of my Japanese stuff. Chris
  14. Michael's has a new program at their stores called "The Knack". About two Saturday's a month they have something for kids to do. The cost is $5.00 (Canadian stores higher) and you can either buy the kit and build it at the store or buy it and take it home. This September 27th Michael's and "The Knack will be having a Build a Camaro. This is the Revell snap-tite version and only cost's $5.00. The nice thing is you can probably buy as many as you like by the end of the day. They usually run this from 10 a.m. to 1 give or take. Anyway, I thought I would let you guys know about it. Mark it on your calendar, take your kid or buy one yourself. Chris
  15. I agree. The website is easy to navigate. Not a lot of bells and whistle's which is perfectly fine with me. I want paint and not have to muddle through a bunch of stuff to get it. Great job Jameston. The only thing I can think of you looking to carry would be Plasti-Kote primers, T-235, T-236 and T-237. These are spray cans, and work great. Chris
  16. Absolutely stunning. David your work is bar none. Great build of a great iconic race car(that's not in styrene, go figure!). Chris
  17. I'm with you Bob, it is a no brainer. Seeing it on the shelf next year no excuse is what I expect. I have heard the Z06 kit was pulled so it makes me wonder if they aren't toying with the tooling. It's just hearsay, but I want to believe. Chris
  18. Thanks for your notes Cal. I have this kit too and will definitely hold onto this thread for future use. Chris
  19. I took my family with me to the car show. It was my wife and oldest sons first time. I had a great day with them and we all enjoyed the cars. Unfortunately the weather was iffy and the car show numbers were down. As usual though, what was there was awesome. Here are a few pics with more at my link. All 197 pictures at MY FOTKI link. Chris
  20. Nice stuff Tonio! You really have a way with those GT-R's! Your orange one is no exception. Chris
  21. I'm with Ismael! Where is the ZR1!! When the new C6 came out it was the first time I went out and bought the Z06, the standard Corvette and the C6R. I plan on getting one more Z06. With the news you just gave out Len it looks like I'll have to do that right quick. Chris
  22. Jameston, That's sweet! I have the kit as well. Did you run into any issues(besides the tires of course!)? Paint looks great! Chris
  23. I saw a squirrel today...
  24. When this kit hit the market I decided to pass on it. Just wasn't for me. Then we start seeing builds of it and I start liking what I saw. All of a sudden we get a build nothing short of awesome and it makes me want one. Anytime a builder can inspire and make another person want one, well, then they did the ultimate work and helped a company sell another kit. What beautiful work. Very inspiring indeed. Chris
