Thanks Marc for taking the time to show us these products. I plan on getting a few hoods and front fascias to tie me over. The only problem I see is getting the clear tails. I'm very happy with my iteration of the '06 GTO, but the main thing missing like I mentioned is the rear fascia GTO lettering. If I could do it I would. Not sure how or where to start. The other imperfections I can see doing on my own. Marc, I'd love to see your headlight idea. Have you seen my take on the headlights and tail-lights?? As far as a wide-body, I certainly understand the problem their. That'll take a lot of styrene filling and putty to git r done! Anyway, Thank Don for taking the time to offer these parts individually. Chris

Leon, Hope you are still around! Tried to email you, but bounced back. Whatcha' buildin'???? Chris

Wow! Lyle that is my favorite bike to date. I'm going to have to pick up one of these kits sometime. I keep looking and never bite. This build makes great inspiration! Chris

Erik, SWEET! What color you going to paint it with? The wheels look perfect for it! Great Job! Chris

Raisin, That is absolutely gorgeous! You nailed it perfectly! Hope you do well! Here is a picture of that exact car. I took this at the Englehart Performance show in a little town in Minnesota. By far the best show I had ever been too: Here is the link to that show if you care to look: http://public.fotki.com/73superduty/11_car...hart_performan/ Chris

After seeing Ismael post those pics I had to pull mine out too. I have 2 "pretty nice" wheels 1 good wheel and one dimpled wheel. Now I'll have to check the hood fitment. Ismael, yea, your wheels are horrible. Chris

Erik, I love Jaffa's idea. I would spray the gold base down and then the transparent green base. Make sure you let each one gas out enough. You do the same thing I do, buy the Dub City trucks for the wheels. They have some nice stuff and are pretty easy to work with. My Tahoe has some wheels from a Denali Dub City. Looking forward to seeing some paint on that LIGHTNING! Chris

Tell them they did a great job Izzy! It's great to see them working on that. They'll be better than Dad in no time! Chris

Looks great Bill. Thanks for your step by step tutorial as well. Will make it easier to work on mine when the time comes. OF course I want to do the same color, and I'll be doing an Atomic Orange Z06 myself. Chris -

Welcome Ramon! Show us some of your stuff! We'd love to see it! Chris -
Matt T. I love that primered Chevy!! PERFECT! Chris

Erik, yes, the roll pan came from another snap-kit. The GMC 3500 dually truck. I believe the rear spoiler came from the AMT Chevy 454 SS kit. Those should all be relatively cheap to find on ebay. As far as a Testor's color goes, I don't think they have anything close. You could maybe try out one of their colors in the Boyd's line of Testor's. Have you got a Wal-Mart in your area? They might have some of the House of Kolor paints that will give you a cool custom color too. I hope this helps! Chris

Here is my only one: Chris

Thanks Erik! Actually the Tahoe was a practice build for some things I wanted to try and it turned out better than I could have hoped. That is an initial finish picture. I have another one in my fotki with the side mirrors on it, makes it look complete. Check out my link in my signature. Chris

Looking Good! My vote for color would be Tamiya TS-52 Candy Lime Green. Like my Tahoe: Chris

RPM Club site "shameless plug"

Clint, it looks great! I've been hitting your guys' pages every now and then. I like it. I was noticing your list of events for 2007 and was wondering how I would go about adding a date to your list? I'm part of the South Central Modeler's of Minnesota. They have their IPMS show coming up on March 24th: I'd also like to add that they will have a 1942 Ford GPW on display as well as a German Navy seaman from WWII attending to answer some War questions. I'd love to get this on your events list if possible. This will be their 2nd IPMS show. Thanks! Chris -
Thanks Guys! I suspect it will start looking much better once the tiny details are added. I think that is what sets apart a Mercedes from other Luxo cars. They are just an elegant car in my opinion. I too love the old benz's, especially the 190 E version. Don't know why, but I do. Chris

Bill, your builds never disappoint! She's a beauty. Those wheels and stripes really set it off. Chris

I really love these old school Benz's. This was one that caught my eye besides my favorite 190E's. This is painted with Tamiya white primer, Tamiya Pearl White, Tamiya Pearl Clear and Tamiya Clear. I haven't polished it yet and I'm not sure if I want to. Anyway, it is being built box stock. Not even changing the wheels. I also painted the center of the wheels in flat white. I'm stumbling on the interior color. The sheet says for a white car it should be black interior. I just don't think that will look right. I'm leaning towards desert sand. Any one have suggestions? Still have the lower panels and spoiler to add. Lots of little body details. Got to do the window surrounds in black and chrome trim, as well as the emblems. I'm not really happy with my front grille, but I'll work on it a little more. New to the hobby... new to the site
crispy replied to cornellam's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welcome Aaron! Don't be afraid to show your stuff. We all do it for fun. Most of the guys on this site will be happy to give you constructive "criticism" in a manner of which will only help you. I have to agree with Daryl, it really is an inspiration to watch Billy K. build. He just keeps getting better and better. The enthusiasm is what I think really gets everyone going. Thanks Billy, and Welcome aboard Aaron! Chris -
"Holy Grail" Models?
crispy replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey 93Z34--Is this the kit you are looking for? 2006 has been a great modeling resurgence for me. I built 6 with many more projects under way. As far as grails go, I seem to buy one and move on ot the next. The latest grail I picked up was the Miami Vice Scarab. I'll be building that some time in '07. The next grail I just bought from Tom at Hobby Heaven, a Jeep Honcho Racer. One of the first kits I bought myself and built as a kid. That should be here on Monday. I haven't any other grails yet, well not until I see something someone built. My boss asked me why I buy all these kits. I explained to him that you have to get some of this stuff now as it can be discontinued any day. IT could happen that the stuff never gets re-issued. He saw my point. Anyway, I look forward to the new releases for '07. My job situation may change, so I may have to watch from the sidelines as new releases come out. Chris
