crispy replied to crispy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Well, I'll be sure to post box contents of my Fujimi version for you Bob. I agree, Challenge rims are the way to go. LOL, I didn't pay retail for my kit either. I wonder what custom rims you'll use?? Chris -

Bob, great tutorial. Fun tac, can I get that at any store? Ive never heard of it or used it before. I'm guessing hobby lobby maybe? Good call on McDonalds. After my boys got older and we quit going altogether, I bet I lost about 15 pounds. I quit drinking soda as well. Beer, Vodka and water for me.... Chris -

Lee, I forgot to mention, if you hold onto your $27 for the kit and wait until next year(yeah, that'll happen) you could probably get the Revell USA version in white plastic. Either way, I'll have two more 599's coming, one of them Fujimi and the other next year from Revell USA. Chris -

Ohhh man, those are some great ref. pictures. I'm very curious about the daytona inserts. I'm a daytona insert, scuderia shield kind of guy. Thanks again Lee! Would you be o.k. with me saving these pictures and adding them to my fotki for reference Lee? LMK, and thanks again. Chris -

LOL, Happen to know someone who might have any ? One color I don't have in my CC line-up. So nice to see you posting Leon. I hope you'll be around a little bit. Chris -
Steve, that looks awesome! I picked this kit up after seeing Bob Downie's built. Lots of nice Cadillac's are being built from this kit. Yours is no exception. Chris

Oooooh, John, I can't wait to see what color you paint it! I really need to get one of hem built, I think I have a total of 10 different 550/575 variations and dupes. Chris

Last years show was a huge success for the small modeling club. It'd be great to see it hit over 100 models again and then some! Here is the flyer: I'd also like to direct you to a down-loadable entry form to help kill time at the registration table. http://public.fotki.com/73superduty/south_...arch_24th_2008/ It is the second picture and you may have to do some adjusting to get it to print out right on your computer. Got some paint on my RoG Ferrari F430 "Miami Vice Movie Car" today. Hoping to be able to get it cleared tonight. Cobra Colors Grigio Silverstone Metallic. I spent extra time on prep and prime. The results were unbelievable to me. I used a fraction of the paint I normally use. Badger 175 w/medium tip was used for spraying. Anyway, should have this done by next month this time. With flash on the camera: Lots of metallic in this paint. So much so that I plan on skipping the light wet-sanding before clear. So far it appears that I have no orange peel. Tough color to spray I might add. Thanks Ismael for your post about your Porsche paint job. I took the extra time to prep and prime and prep and imagine my surprise when I used just a fraction of the paint! So thanks for the post and teaching me the importance of prep work before paint. Beautiful build! Very clean execution. I keep hearing about how great the crazy modeler emblems are, now I may have to get me some. Chris

What's your "most fun" build?
crispy replied to Mike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The most fun I have had building a kit was my R/M C6-R. I just wanted to see if I could build it and make it "look" good with a 2 week time frame. It was fast and fun. A quick build like this can get you out of a rut. Some folks aren't real happy with the kit as it hasn't all the details, but it looks well represented to my eye and again it was FUN. Chris -
I'm in love! Beautiful Ferrari! Chris

Marc, Excellent! Working your magic. Chris -
Just got my 599 from Revell of Germany. I'm patiently waiting for Fujimi to release their kit. Anyway Here is the kit: I really really dislike the red plastic. It has a different feel than the Revell USA Chinese plastic. A quick glimpse of the body and the pictures I have show it to be very close. My nit comes with the rear window. Just something I cannot put my finger on. Their are a few mold lines on the rear and some slight mold lines on top of the front fenders. Without spraying some primer on it I cannot see any sink marks. The kit is molded in black and red with chrome parts. 99 pieces advertised on the box. I'm not real keen on the pentagram wheels, so I'm thinking some Fujimi Sportec wheels or Challenge rims. I've not dry fitted any parts either so I cannot say if it has that weird chassis warp or unstable suspension. Here are the parts breakdown with a shot of the decals: First impression of the body reminds me of a Corvette and Viper, had they had a love child it would be this car. Finally though, I look forward to building this car. I'm a huge fan of the front engined V-12 Ferrari's. The 550/575 were gorgeous cars in my opinion and the 599 is a bit different, but I think the more I see it the more I'll love it. Chris

That is SWEET! Nicest smoothest Ford I've seen. Chris

Simon, Beautiful build of a beautiful car. By far one of my most favorite BMW's around. Thanks for sharing Chris

Thanks for the review Bob! I, umm, ahem, bought the RoG kit and have yet to take it out and look at it. With your review of the Revell USA kit, I may just have to buy it again. I gotta get one of these 550, 575, SA kits built here soon. Person #2 that is interested. Chris

eModelCars Auction Web Site
crispy replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've been listing and re-listing on their for a couple of months now. Sold two kits. Not much traffic, but I certainly try to keep something their. I'd miss the venue if it were gone, but I certainly understand where you are coming from Gregg. Chris -
Yeah, that is cool! Nice work! You really never see that built. Nice to see something new! Chris

I definitely have to agree with your review. I have not yet put mine together, but initial mock ups and parts quality leap to my mind. Your Camaro is gorgeous. I really love your colors as Jairus mentioned. Chris
