  1. The McQ car was a Brewster Green car. I believe they used two of them in the movie. When the car starts getting mauled in the alley by the garbage trucks, it is hard to watch. To this day I don't think anyone knows if they actually used a real SD-455 in that scene or if it was a "regular" 455 with the shaker decals changed. Chris
  2. Beautiful build, although it is a T/A(your build that is) and not a Firebird, I may have read your description wrong(although the article shows a Firebird). You matched the paint and wheels perfectly. I would have sanded the wheel spoilers and rear spoiler off. Filled the fender vents an voila, Your SD-455 Firebird(or at least really darn close). I wish you would have told me you were building one, I would have sent you some original SD-455 engine paint. Its more of a gray-blue than the regular blues Pontiac used in the day. Again, excellent work! Thanks for sharing! Chris
  3. Tonio--She looks fantastic. The wheels really set it off. Thanks for sharing! Chris
  4. You guys lost me on the tv.... I made my own as well. Chucks into my dremel. Chris
  5. I'm running a PC with Firefox browser and I have no logo on my left. No red x either. It just says model cars magazine forum Forum index Jairus, are you and Gregg running those fancy Mac machines?? Chris
  6. Billy, That "style" was from 1979-1981, although the engine choices differed as well as the brakes and interior accoutrement's they all basically had the same sheet-metal. Chris

    Yellow H2

That is sick! I love it! Great looking build! Chris
  8. Look forward to that Supra Ken! Those Aoshima Kranze LXZ's look great, but I definitely understand the difficulty. It can make or break your build progress. Chris
  9. Here are my pictures of the 2007 GSTA (Gopher State Timing Association). Great show and is always fun with the group of guys I go with. We saw this idiot on the highway doing 70 mph!!: Then we saw lotsa cool cars! And, as always, we stopped by our favorite family restaurant. My buddy always gets his picture taken with a waitress: You can find more at http://public.fotki.com/73superduty/11_car...hows/2007-gsta/
  10. Marc that is excellent! Let me know when these are available. That really sets it off. Looks very realistic. Any chance I could get you to re-introduce the GTO pieces here? as in what will be offered? The kits are cheap enough to buy, but that driving light put me over the edge and I'll have to get a couple. Thanks for sharing. Chris
  11. Would love to see the Lindberg hawk ones. Thanks! Chris
  12. I don't intend to get in the middle of this, but wanted to just say something about why sellers do not leave feedback until the buyer does. This is just my opinion and may not be correct. I've said it before that feedback system isn't the best on ebay, we all know that, but as it is, some buyers will hold that over your head and are to quick to just lay down a negative comment without even as much as an email to rectify the situation. Each person has their own perception to an item they receive, and guess what, everyones is different. I've just recently switched the way I leave feedback as a seller to what you have described. It has worked for me, but I also will do anything I can to make sure that as a seller and as a buyer that the outcome for both is as perfect as it can be. It is a two way street. Have my feedbacks dropped because of this? No, not at all. I make sure the buyer knows that if feedback is left I will reciprocate. Really the auction isn't over until the buyer gets their item, this way the obligation between the buyer and seller is finally finished and feedback should be left, but it's not going to happen. I feel I got a lot less feedback when I did it the "old" way, leaving feedback upon receipt of payment. Most of the time the buyers didn't care to leave any feedback. Again, my two way street theory. As for the Reliable Resin problem here, I'm not sure what to say, of course no one has asked and I'll just put my two cents in. I recently purchased something from Don and as he is a resin caster I figured I'd have to wait about a month or more for my item. Imagine my surprise when it was here in three weeks and was exactly as described. I was very happy. It was Marc @ MPC Motorsports' builds that pushed me to the product. Now, I don't know Don or Marc at all except from the forums and ebay, but I like them. I've never really liked these threads where someone has to drag a name through the mud to get some kind of recourse, but it really should be a private matter and not for everyone on the forums. Let them decide. I'm sure if a problem arose and prompt inquiries were made that the RR Customer service would have probably worked. Well, back to the workbench.... Chris
  13. That's going to look killer! I'll be following alog closely as well. I have this kit and the other 365's, but have yet to build one. Check out my fotki link with a bunch of 365's for reference: http://public.fotki.com/73superduty/ferrari/ Chris
  14. Larry, thanks for the heads up! Bob, Thanks for the parts breakdown! I really appreciate Fujimi separating the seats like they did. That will make the carbon fiber process a little easier. I'm impatient, so as far as the wheel thing goes, I may have to just bite on the Challenge edition if it comes out. Chris
  15. Ismael, you've done it again! Fantastic build! Realism is great! I bought this kit just from watching your build process. The final product is simply striking! Chris
  16. Gregg, I was hoping you were trying to hit the Barnes and Noble People. We just had our B&N open a new big store. I'll head in and ask! Chris
  17. Lee, Thanks for the ref. pictures. I have them uploaded to my 599 album: http://public.fotki.com/73superduty/ferrari/599_gtb_fiorano/ Chris
  18. Not Antonio, but I believe he is working with a Fujimi kit. They are very nice and with Antonio's skills they turn out perfect. Chris
  19. Mike, Thanks! I'll give them a call with all the numbers listed. I appreciate your effort! I did find out the kit was factory built and the case, well that too is self explanatory. Chris
  20. According to the hobby shop owner, this F-15 is factory built and came with this Revell case. Photo's of the case: I apologize for the big gorilla in the pictures and the last two fuzzy pics. Anyway, I've tried to no avail to contact someone at Revell about this case as well as this F-15. I've been told by three people at the hobby shop that this is something that came from Revell. The jet too. The front of the case has a lock and opens by dropping down flat. Both keys are with it. The case is metal framed with glass and mirrored back and bottom. The thing weighs like 40-50 pounds. The "Revell" logo is etched right in the glass. I'm trying to get as much information on these two items that I can. Could someone be able to contact Revell and send these pictures to them? I've tried to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated by anyone. Thanks guys!
  21. Mark, I think a good place to start on your Firebird would be to get the 82 Pontiac Firebird by Revell in 1/25 scale kit #7215. I would then use the hood from one of the Monogram 85/87 kits, although in 1/24 scale I think you could make it work. The wheels look like they were left over from the late 70's Trans Am's. Are they snowflakes, or the real tight diamond style? IF they are the diamond style you could use them from the two aforementioned kits I suggested. I know Monogram did an 83 Trans Am as well, but I cannot remember the scale. That too would possibly have the hood required, but I am at a blank for it right now. No ideas on the truck. Chris
  22. Ray, I will possibly be selling one of my racks. It is a Testors Military rack fitted for their 1/2 ounce bottles and the top has room for sprays. Probably not what you are looking for, but it's a start. Just depends on whether I will be able to get a hold of a rack at the LHS here in a month or so. I'll let you know what I find out. but if you click on my fotki link and go to my hobby room you can see my paint racks.
  23. Matt, that is absolutely gorgeous! Great work all around. Shiny! Great pictures. Chris
  24. Turnout for the second annual event was great. They had about 133 models. It was a positive show and I believe everyone had a great time. Here are a few shots to whet your appetite. Of course it seems that this weekend was a model sensory overload. Check out the rest of the shots at my FOTKI
