  1. What IS it about YELLOW??? The lack of pigment within the paint? The need for more paint to get good coverage? GREMLINS????
  2. Another kit that isn't quite my style, but came out pretty ok. Finished in 2010. Read about the build HERE ---->>> http://jonellesmodels.homestead.com/GT350H.html
  3. Saw that, but everything is pretty much sold out
  4. Another nightmare build thanks to my attempt to use Tamiya yellow paint... Details can be found HERE ----->>> http://jonellesmodels.homestead.com/CorvetteZO6.html Finished model:
  5. This was NOT my usual flavor of subject matter... but it did come out pretty ok in the end! Read about the build HERE ----->>> http://jonellesmodels.homestead.com/fairlane.html Pics of finished model:
  6. This one was from 2009 (wow, it HAS been a while since I built!), the Revell/Monogram Ferrari F430 coupe. It was a bleepity-bleep pain in the backside project because I tried to make it YELLOW... until that time, I had NEVER achieved a usable yellow paint job. Trying to darken the panel lines mixed with trying Tamiya paints resulted in a disaster. I ended up having to order a new body! All the dirty details can be read HERE ---->> http://jonellesmodels.homestead.com/FerrariF430.html Here are photos of the finished model:
  7. Wow, now THAT is a FLASHBACK! ?
  8. I noticed the tires immediately... not the usual Monogram Goodyears! ? I used to buy from Historic Racing Miniatures all the time... are they still catalog-only for the most part?
  9. WOW! You had 1/24 Carroll Shelby sign the dash, too??? ?
  10. NIFTY! Not a subject you see every day!
  11. From that last photo, I can't see the usual massive "print lines" usually seen on 3D prints... Almost looks like a resin casting!
  12. I suggest looking up someone named "Rocco"... if he can't "find" one for you, he'll "know a guy"... ?
  13. Ntrack! I have seen some of the displays they have done in Lexington MA.... possible... I used to attend MASSCAR but was always really nervous there... NO, I don't know Stu but I have heard his name... re: CLUBS I have a difficult time with social things like club meetings... it is very embarrassing... always figured I'd "grow out" of it but it gets WORSE as I age! I'd like to try one some day, for at least ONE of my hobbies...
  14. YUP... www.maxiblue.homestead.com ... my boyfriend is down to 2 Javelin AMXs, though one is apart and one is stuck in the garage ?
  15. HI folks... I am not a huge "fan" of fire trucks but some of them are indeed rather nifty, and I decided to make an album of antique ones spotted in Massachusetts to share with folks who ARE huge fans! https://www.flickr.com/photos/88354822@N04/albums/72157712235361443
  16. Reminds me of the museum in York Maine, only less dusty! That, or one of those, cast iron bugs just sold at auction for $$$
  17. I have learned through the years that any comment I make regarding keeping things stock/correct will be met with angry tirades... so I will not say "oh, so even Lotus owners will add brightly colored geegaws to their engine bays?". ?
  18. THANKS folks! But I think I've already irked some people over in the off-topic section... not even going to read their responses as people today seem highly stressed by any dissenting opinions... I will try to get some pics together of past builds. As for the AMC models, until a couple of years ago I actually OWNED a 1:1 one, which is the only reason I ever built any small ones! :-)
  19. No, FORD didn't fake them, like I said it was either Nader or/and one news organization. I'll have to ask my boyfriend what he remembers about it.
  20. I can tell... trust me... I want to see and hear REAL cars, not a computer game... As for acting abilities, Steve McQueen wasn't the world's best actor, he was just perfect for the roles he played. Same with Eastwood. ("Le Mans" was actually a pretty boring flick...) Now, James Garner, he was a far better actor and also did a film with actual racing footage, "Grand Prix". He was also FAR better looking... By the way, are you telling me I am not allowed to have a dissenting opinion? Because if I want to be harassed I'll head on over to Facebook...
  21. Maybe all people can retain are texts and "lol" and "wtf" these days...
  22. I was just looking around and noticed I don't appear to have ever introduced myself here! (joined on January 26, 2016) I'm not good at typing about myself, but I have been building model cars on and off since I was a little girl. I always blame it on someone buying me a Matchbox car instead of a Barbie doll. I preferred Matchboxes to Hot Wheels because their detail was better... even back then... Fast forward and I, alas, don't build much anymore. Blame it on age, blame it on medications, blame it on lack of funds, blame it on lots of things, but I simply don't feel much like doing anything creative anymore. And it makes me mad... ANYHOO, now and then I look around to see what people are building. I also lurk over at an N-scale model railroad site. I used to post over at the Scale Auto forum, but the Great Photobucket Debacle has ruined many of those threads. I MIGHT repost the build info & images here if I think people would be interested, or if they could help other people who may want to build those specific kits. You can see my model cars (and other stuff) at www.crownvicsetc.com/MyPage.html. Sorry it took me so long to say HELLO to everyone! PS: If at times my posts seem a bit "touchy", I apologize in advance...
