  1. Actually Brett, it's labeled as a MPC kit.
  2. Their newest tooling should be the C6 Vettes, then the late model Camaro and Challenger, not the newest, but newer than the typical PL/AMT/MPC reissues that may have been recent pre Racing Chumps tools or kits from when AMT and MPC competed against each other as stand alone companies.......when Revell and Monogram were also stand alone companies..............
  3. I think that's it, it's people in my age group that watched this as children, teens, and young adults, and now that many are now parents, they're probably watching the show with their kids and well, as was said, a big, loud, orange car flying through the air........what kid isn't going to love that, especially if they already watch stuff like Monster Jam?!
  4. You don't have to, I only do if I'm using the Mopar paint (probably not needed, but just in case), Duplicolor (needed, as is the adheasion promoter), as well as if I'll applying the Model Master to the outside of the bodies and I usually use the finer grit 3m paper or sanding stick like I did on my last couple bodies. Never used the Tamiya paints (too new in my store and with pricing that ranges from "kinda expensive" to "OK, who's been sniffing the product?!"), and the Duratrax line is too new, but might be close enough to the old Pactra line to work just as well, and is sold in the bigger cans than Pactra and Tamiya use....and I think they're the same can as who ever makes the Mopar stuff uses!
  5. Something else too, if you can get some Duplicolor bedliner in thr spray can, that makes a good, durable protective coating on the paint and with the use of their adheasion promoter, can be used on the outside of Lexan bodies too. No matter what.you do, alway clean the bodys before painting. I'll wipe them down with alcohal, mask them, wipe them down again when done with the masking, then if I don't get the immediate chance to paint, wipe it down before spraying. If you have to do any sanding, wipe it down after the sanding is done too.
  6. Went to renew my driver's license today, found a spot right by their front door, walked right up to the counter and was taken care of right away, redid my eye test and my sight improved enough to no longer need to have the eye glasses restriction on my license, and was in and out in less time than it took me to drive there and park!
  7. If you have access to the Model Master 2 Stage Lacquer, that stuff works great on Lexan and I've shot more than a few lexan bodies with the stuff without it chipping, flaking, or just failing all together. I've also used Mopar touch up from the dealerships and that's worked just as well as the old Pactra and the Model Master lacquers. Don't know if the GM or Ford stuff works as well, wouldn't be shocked if they all used the same supplier(s) for their paints.
  8. You are right there Bob, there's also 2 small holes in the front bumper for mounting the push bar too. I did find nounting the front valance a bit fiddlie, but then again, my first thouht was to open the holes slightly with an Xacto knife then glue that in place. I didn't want to start breaking parts lff the tree yet either and since I was in the kitchen and all of my tools were up in my bedroom, I left that alone.
  9. I just was thinking last night that today is probably one of the very few times where I had the day off from work since since that happened. Mom also mentioned last night how weird it was driving past the local county airport right after they grounded all those planes. I kid you not, it looked a lot like a mall parking lot does in mid-late December!
  10. Like the footage of a UPS employee chucking a box over a fence
  11. Luckily the guy who ran mine has since left in some way, feels different there in a good way too.
  12. Photobucket just started giving me problems, here's a link to the album. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/bjoehandley/library/Round%202%20MPC%20General%20Lee%20Snap-It%20Kit?sort=2&page=1
  13. Now here's some of the pieces unbagged, not crazy about the condition of the back window trim though, looks like there was some carelessness there. [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/bjoehandley/media/Round%202%20MPC%20General%20Lee%20Snap-It%20Kit/20140910_225042_zpscjorsrj1.jpg.html]
  14. Here's some pics of the kit staight out of the box. [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/bjoehandley/media/Round%202%20MPC%20General%20Lee%20Snap-It%20Kit/20140910_225318_zpsegb4zxgk.jpg.html] [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/bjoehandley/media/Round%202%20MPC%20General%20Lee%20Snap-It%20Kit/20140910_225318_zpsegb4zxgk.jpg.html]
  15. I those were meant for taking care of the coal rollers
  16. Probably, my boss was telling a customer about when he managed another HTU they had a customer who wanted specific, large scale plane, so he ordered it for him and it was to be shipped via Greyhound because the boxs were coffin sized. Couple weeks later the customer calls asking about the plane, so my boss called the company and they had been able to track the shipment to a major hub where it disappeared. The company sent another, with the same results. When the 3rd disappeared, they figured out it was somebody at that hub that was taking pulling stuff off the trucks, including over $2k in R/C Planes. As for problematic P.O.'s, the one in my town was being run by a guy who there weren't many good things to say about him, so since the one in the neighboring town wasn't much further away from home, I'd just go there and mail stuff instead.
  17. Ok, if we're going to post LeMons racers.............
  18. You know, if Revell were to decide to finally tool up a '70, I would have it on order as soon as the part number hit our system at work. Didn't stope from buying this kit, and if Ro7nd 2 were to decide to make '68 and '70 Chargers or just other movie cars from this tool, I'd probably buy those too.
  19. Exactly guys, it's not like this kit has to be built as just the General and only and General Lee! My GL Snapper came in today and I will be buying it tonight. Not sure exactly how it will be built, but I have been contemplating building "Traveler" from John Schneider's friends and family made movie "Collier and Company, Hot Pursuit!" Since it would be a simple build (just leave off the GL decals)............plus it's a '69 Charger, shouldn't take much imagination to build something other than the GL. Personally, I'm wondering how many General Mayhem builds will spring from this model! For those who have no clue what General Mayhem is........
  20. Or just thinks r...e...a...l...l...y.........s...l...o...w...l...y
  21. An EcoDiesel powered Grand Cherokee! First EcoDiesel equipped Mopar I've see in person so far too.
  22. Seen plenty of boxes from FedUPS like that on a fairly regular basis, and if it was marked FRAGILE, you could almost be certain FedUPS would mangle it..........
  23. That looks alot like the Challenger my Grandparents had! Is that just an R/T, or an R/T SE?
  24. Dad got to thinking about this too, last time you could buy a monster like this from the Big 3, they were light weight, stripped down, drag only cars with special parts like plastic windows, tin foil or fiberglass body panels, seats from smaller vehicles, ect and were slightly more streetable than a funny car. Today, even the V-6, FWD grocery getters can pull times comparable to if not better than some of the milder muscle cars could back in the day and still get 2-3 times the mileage in 87 octane pump swill, let alone what the Challenger and Charger R/T, Pontiac G8/Chevy SS, and Mustangs can now do. Dad always thinks back to the stuff he played with in decades past vs what you can buy right now as an example. His first car was a '50 Plymouth coupe with the 217" flathead six than made 95hp new. By the late 80's, Chrysler's 2.5l (152" I think) SOHC 4 cylinder was making that with just throttle body injection. Keeping up with that, the 3.5l (also 217") V-6 my Sister's old Charger had made 250hp stock and the 3.6l (220") in my 200 will put out 283hp on plain old 87 while the one in the current 200 makes 295hp! GM's 3.6l V-6 is just as potent and the most recent V-6 Mustangs could eat some of their V-8 powered ancestors alive. Get into the V-8's, fantastic power with mileage to match.......so long as you don't bury the skinny pedal too often. My Sister's Challenger has the "weak" Hemi that "only" makes 370hp, and that alone is still better than 1hp/cu.in. while naturally asperated........just too bad it weighs 500lbs more than my 200............ My thoughs, 'Glas bodies Track-T! Even a junkyard 4.8l truck V-8 should be enough power to make things interesting, let alone being in an otherwise sub 2000lb car on top of that!
  25. I have to agree on all but the comfort, my Sister has one and I find it difficult to get in and out of, especially after a long day at work, and really doesn't have the room of my smaller Chrysler 200 sedan either.
