  1. Yea, even the snap kits I've built have had the occasional tweak here or there have been like that. The AMT 2009 Challenger R/T I'm working on right now is going to have a few slight, very simple, and no putty required tweaks to make it look a weee bit more like a '70 Challenger than the car already does.
  2. And don't forget Dinozo's ZR1 and Mustang, McGee's Porsche, Ziva's Mini, and the Black SRT8 Challenger from NCIS:LA
  3. To be honest, I'd take one of those Chargers long before I'd buy the mid-late 70's B-Body Chargers. I really don't care if the current car a 4dr instead of a 2dr, I tend to think that unless they're hatchbacks (technically making them a 3dr I know), 2dr cars are pretty much useless in comparison to a 4dr. I do think that the upcoming model's cosmetic changes pretty much fix much of what I didn't like about the '05-'10 model and that it does look much better than the one it replaces.
  4. I'd be surprised if they didn't have a few of all the main vehicles laying around where ever the shoot is taking place in any car intensive production, I've read that was the case even with shows like 90210's EV1 and '58 Vette I do think it will be interesting to see what happens with this investigation and if; a. There was some miss communication between all involved parties. b. They knew that officer was coming and decided to shoot the scene anyway while using him flying through to their advantage, which obviously came back to bite them hard!. c. That particular officer has the attitude of "I've got a badge and I'll go where ever I feel like!" and that came back to bite him hard! d. All of what's found in the investigation is never released. e. The truly guilty party (on which ever side) get's a well hidden slap on the wrist while the more innocent party gets thrown under the media circus bus as the villain of the incident
  5. I seem to remember a model of one being sold a couple decades ago and this picture was used in the advertising, but I can't remember which one it is for sure....I'm thinking this was the actual car in that pic.
  6. Car's coming along nicely, just have to detail brush paint the smaller places, apply the stock decals, foil the stuff I'll be foiling, and it'll be done!
  7. That's where I'm going with this one Charlie.
  8. Yup, gotta agree with Harry here...........not sure if that's because of how bad I am at that myself though..............
  9. Is is when we get the chance, this car has been more of a "got a couple spare minutes" type build where I ran out and shot the colors during lulls in customer flow. The one I work for is in St. Charles, and there used to be one by the Fox Valley Mall that I worked at for a while until it closed a couple years back. Went and got the body from the store today and quickly mocked it together for these pics when I got home.
  10. I wondered what happened to that build.........
  11. That is going to be wild.....................
  12. Yup, hoping for the same tomorrow too
  13. Just WOW, this is a great looking build! I'll be honest, first thing that came to my mind when I started counting plug wires was the original, as written Hot Rod Lincoln and the line "It's got 12 cylinders and uses them all"
  14. Thanks Jim! I ended up doing a little touch up today and and painted the grills and chin spoiler late in the afternoon then re-cleared the body after we locked the doors and I shot these pics not too long before leaving to go home for the night. I left it there for the night and really hope it turns out as nice as it looks once the clear is dried! The camera I used is a Canon Power Shot SX120 set on 10 megapixels and I can't believe how well it picks up the flake in this paint!
  15. Ok, glad I'm not the only one who was seeing a tach there
  16. I did hit it with that clear, but I may have to lay some more when I fix a couple of my screw-ups though
  17. The quick build-ability of this car is why I'm building it right now. I work for a HobbyTown and a couple of my co-workers are building (well, one is building two with the other's help) for next Saturday's contest just for the heck of it and they kinda "snookered" me into building too......with 1 week to go
  18. I had to open the locating holes for the Hood, Rear Bumper Cover, and Spoiler a wee bit after the paint was dry so they would fit and will probably have to do that for the lights and grill too. I did test fit, remove mold lines, and such when I first bought the kit a year ago and that could be why it does have a decent fit as well. What I liked about that green is that it's pretty close to the Snake Skin Green that was offered on recent Vipers
  19. Thanks guys, this will be a slightly tweeked out of box build with a few E-Body styling ques that didn't make it into this model as a concept or production car and should help hide the major paint flub on the rockers too
  20. Just shot this one at work yesterday with Testors One Coat Lime Ice Lacquer, I did flub a few things, but it otherwise has turned out pretty good and my mistakes should he easy to fix or hide And now for the pics!
  21. There are all aluminum Cobra clones that you can get, I'm kinda hoping that's what it was if they didn't animate that scene further than him falling on it.
  22. That's the one I'm thinking of, must have been the paint fumes, a couple employees and myself are building kits for next Saturday right now and I'm the only one actually spraying outside
  23. It's either Black Crystal Clear Coat or Crystal Black Clear Coat, my folks 2006 Town and Country is painted the same color. I've also noticed that the Testors One Coat Blazing Black Lacquer is nearly dead on for that color too
  24. We've had a couple come through the HTU I work for in the past few weeks, have yet to buy one though
  25. Neat idea, never even thought of something like that before!
