I love it! I normally can't stand Centerline's on just about anything, but that Big and Holy Smokes wheel combo seems to look just right on that car to me

I think that's why cars like the PT Cruisers, HHR, the new Fiesta, and the above look better to me, they're completely different than most other stuff on the road today.

I don't know Harry, I actually prefer the new Avenger. It's more pleasing to my eye, and I tend to prefer the 80's and 90's styling to the wannabe truck garbage that's out now. I do seem to remember that Daimler felt that the trucks were Chrysler's strong suit and wanted it's passenger cars to capitalize on that as well.....then a few years later we get something that looked like a cross between "THE CAR", a M-Body New Yorker, and a modern Rolls Royce/Bentley

Crushed glass will have a different effect than sand because at least it will be reflective (being able to throw light off the chunks of glass sticking through the finish) and enough clear and a good polish and wax job should alleviate the rough finish too.

If you crush glass fine enough, it should work well and give a nice flake like effect if done right, especially if you're using some kind of clear and/or metallic or candy paint as the carrying medium

I'll be honest, I've cut up Coke Bottles and used empty McDonald's cups filled with hot tap water in a pinch to heat cans.......then again, I've also found cleaned up Gatorade caps work well when you need to apply small decals too

I'd imagine it was done by the wealthier racers as a form of showmanship and braggadocio (IE, look at what I can afford!) The best reasons I can think of for discontinuing use of that type of finish is costs (since the Blendtec blender wasn't around, that wouldn't have been cheap to make!), weight (it is glass after all), and possible dangers if the paint had a sandpaper like finish and somebody got rubbed the wrong way.

Charlie's got a good idea here, but follow what he says closely, I seem to remember somebody writing into another model mag over a decade ago saying that they put cans of primer and Italian Red Lacquer on the stove in boiling water .....with explosive results that damaged the ceiling, stove, and very quickly painted the entire kitchen red with no effort what so ever:o

Yea, location can make a big difference when it comes to painting during the winter! What primer do you use for the Pactra paints on styrene just out of curiosity?

The president from the Crawler Club I'm a member of tried that a couple winters back with Pactra Metallic Red.......didn't work so good for him, and I don't think his wife was overly thrilled with him either

Problem with the Liberty and the Caliber offshoots, is that they replaced the Cherokee, and just aren't the trucks the Cherokee were, and in all honesty, I'm not sure if they're worthy of replacing the old Eagle 4wd cars that AMC built prior to Chrysler buying the brand. I have a hard time even considering the WK and current Grand Cherokee's that, since the Grands were slightly up-sized Cherokee's. Maybe they should have called those Jeepster or Wagoneer instead.

Well, The 1/16 Dukes and Petty Chargers are ones I've wanted for a while, even if the first isn't built as a Genera Lee, didn't know that I wanted the Gremlin, 1/12 Mustang, '48 Ford Kustom, R/C Decoy Duck, 550 Powered Traxxas Rally (already wanted the brushless VXL model ), or the 4x4 Stampede....but I do now!

Looks good, kinda reminds me of the Blue Plymouth Cooter built to run shine from one of the early Dukes episodes when they were still shooting in Georgia
