  1. The president from the Crawler Club I'm a member of tried that a couple winters back with Pactra Metallic Red.......didn't work so good for him, and I don't think his wife was overly thrilled with him either
  2. I thought that build looked familiar but couldn't figure out why.....Looks good Darin!
  3. Problem with the Liberty and the Caliber offshoots, is that they replaced the Cherokee, and just aren't the trucks the Cherokee were, and in all honesty, I'm not sure if they're worthy of replacing the old Eagle 4wd cars that AMC built prior to Chrysler buying the brand. I have a hard time even considering the WK and current Grand Cherokee's that, since the Grands were slightly up-sized Cherokee's. Maybe they should have called those Jeepster or Wagoneer instead.
  4. Cool, just remember, Enos was chasin' that car all over the county, so the outside only has to look stock
  5. Well, The 1/16 Dukes and Petty Chargers are ones I've wanted for a while, even if the first isn't built as a Genera Lee, didn't know that I wanted the Gremlin, 1/12 Mustang, '48 Ford Kustom, R/C Decoy Duck, 550 Powered Traxxas Rally (already wanted the brushless VXL model ), or the 4x4 Stampede....but I do now!
  6. Looks good, kinda reminds me of the Blue Plymouth Cooter built to run shine from one of the early Dukes episodes when they were still shooting in Georgia
  7. I work at one in the Chicago area, Justin. I also talked to a local model club member who's also a member at a local model clubs and apparently this story has been propagated by a disgruntled ex-employee of Lindberg and is likely BS
  8. Nice build, judging by the camber in the front end looks like should be a decent handler too
  9. Huh, the Chopper rolling stock looks right on that too......Good looking build!
  10. Where I had heard it from was a former Revell Employee and a couple European modelers (one of whom is a member here) who were in town for I-Hobby and just so happened to stop in my HTU Sunday whole touring the area's LHS' while here. I had never heard of until that prior to Sunday either to be honest.
  11. For as much as I liked the Challenger kit, I have yet to buy one of these Vette's yet. I'm kinda disappointed by the vinyl seats in general, but loved then multiple decals on that Challenger and I'm sure they'll be more than welcome on the Vette as well
  12. IIRC it was a 2wd F-450 so the Revell kit should work well for most of it, but you will need the later style headlights from the AMT F-150 kits kit
  13. If that thing got any lower, my R/C Mini Cooper would be tower over it
  14. Dang, I was hoping for some food!
  15. I was talking to a few guys at work today and apparently Lindberg is up for sale?! If that is the case, I doubt we will ever got one.
  16. Dad and I were going to take a lunch break at I-Hobby and we started t walk past a small booth with a big card board cut out that read Tenax 7R When that finally processed, let out with "You guys are back?!" to which they replied "Yes and we're trying to get the word out." They're working on getting their old supply chain back together, including Great Planes, Stevens Int., and Walthers (model railroad supplies and accessories) as well as several others as well as letting retailers know they're making a comeback. I told them between what I've read on here and from talking to customers at work, there should be many, many happy people to hear this. I think that made their day too!
  17. HAHAHAHA! I'd bet that will be a stunner
  18. They had a box for the Tall T and the Gremlin at the show today as well as a built but un-decaled 1/16 GL and a 1/16 Petty '73 Charger though!
  19. I looked at the '48 Fords and the Mustang, I definitely want the '48 and wouldn't mind the big 'Stang either
  20. I took a few pics while I was there, they're all in this link. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v698/bjoehandley/I%20Hobby%202010/
  21. I'll be spending most of Saturday at booth 2502, which is where we (the Suburban Chicago Rock Crawlers ) will have crawling exhibition going on and wandering around as well as the occasional crawling session on Friday. I'll be the big guy with glasses, a full beard and will probably be wearing a grey SCRC shirt on Saturday and a dark blue HobbyTown shirt on Friday.
  22. You going to be there tomorrow too Don?
  23. I'll be there the next two days, tomorrow as a HTU Employee and Saturday with the local r/c rock crawler club competing in the "scaler" comp.
  24. I could go for a '40 kit like that, even more so if it's a '40 Merc Maybe have the Kustom pieces be add-on sections like the old AMT kits from the 60's that can be added onto an existing car without having it be specific to one particular kit or be easily added to others as well.
