Let me warn you ahead of time Camaroman, for some reason the Concept Camaro handles like a pig and the guide gets hung up on the small diameter 1/30 curves. I want the Charger 500 street custom from Carrera, and the Orange SUperbird to make into a clone of the Superbird convertable owned by a guy on a Mopar forum I go on.
-
And I have since added a Scalextric "body in white" T/A Z-28 to my fleet............................
-
The ones that came with the set are now stick again, I did buy a second of both and modded the Superbird with a couple extra magnets and the Torino has had the magnets moved up front for "dirt tracking" . The Viper has been converted to a drift car.
-
Well it's offical, I'm hooked on these things now. I started out with the Carrera Petty set, then bought a plain white Scalextric Viper Comp Coupe, and now have a second Petty Torino and Superbird, Carrera Camaro Concept Car, and one of the Scalextric "impact resistant" BMW Mini's.

Couple Of New Movie Car Models
Joe Handley replied to Terry Jessee's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
looks good! -
Incredible builds man, and that's a brilliant discovery on the Duplicolor sidewall touchup paint!
-
That is an incredible pic! Awsome video here! Don't see too many people driving two footed either! From what I've been told, if you do that while taking a driver's license test in Illinois, you automaticly fail the test!
-
I'd pay to see Jr Johnson and some of his fellow ex-moonshiners take a car set up for...ahem....deliveries....on some of the race courses just to see how their old iron compares to modern racecars

I saw this in a Carrera catalog at work yesterday and kept thinking of Fordsixty's road racers, and how this car kept making me think a '67-'69 made to look like this would be just plain wicked! Carrera's 1/32 Opel Commodore http://us.carrera-toys.com/index.php?eID=t...c3f4b18600952ec Carrera's 1/32 '69 Z-28 http://us.carrera-toys.com/index.php?eID=t...5747a285d8bace4

Thanks for the tips JB, I picked up a second Petty Superbird to try them out on! It is too bad there doesn't seem like there's more interest in this forum, this is one of the few places I know of that has anything like this (he greg, I've got an idea for the mag now too!) I ended up pulling all of the magnets in the set's Petty cars and found them more entertaining to drive like "dirt track" cars than with the magnets I even picked up the new Camaro Concept Car from Carrera and set it up as a "drift" car, way too fun . I still have yet to get the magnet out of the Viper Comp Coupe though......................

I love the scoop, is it manual or to you have a small battery and motor to move it.

Dang, that puppy is low!

Looking For Resin Part??
Joe Handley replied to JasonW18's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good Question, I know a guy who'd be all over that in reg cab/sportside trim! -
Stoga, haven't seen you here in a while! The last few runs of the Chevy/GMC G-Series vans (A-Team) have had a few problems too that could stand some fixing and I would love to see the Dodge/Plymouth F/S as well as the Chrysler Mini's done in scale again. I did pick up that Imperial last weekend though, nice kit!

I've got the Carrera Richard Petty set and I seem to have problems with the cars it came with (a '70 Superbird and '69 Torino Talladega) and the Scalextric Viper Comp Coupe wanting to roll over if they get too far sideways. Any suggestions (besides not to get too far siedways)?

This has been a very informative and in some ways educational thread and has been handled in a mature way by all involved, especially the moderators! I can't think of too many forums I've been on where there wouldn't have been name calling, accusations, and the like for "lesser" topics (usually Democrate basing ), let alone something this "loaded". You guys need to be given a huge thumbs up for this thread!

I'm with every body else here on more modern everyday cars and I love the idea of the Interceptor concept car from "The Wraith" too! I'd love to see modern domestic van kits (well any van kits really, just would prefer newer or just repaired older tooling). I don;t know why there have never been kits made of the regular Jeep Cherokee's, but I'd have no problems letting Revell or Hawk take measurements off mine for a kit if they were so interested.

Where Do You Keep Your Stash?
Joe Handley replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Let's see, most of them are in a storage area I share with my Sister, got some stashed in various parts of my bedroom (I'm single so no problems there), and occasionally I'll have 1 or more in the Jeep, then there's also my RC and slot car stuff on top of that..................................... -
Actually, I'd love to see an old Moonshiner like Junior Johnson run against guys like these

8 lug wheels are probably a good idea on that truck Looks good so far!

Testors New Lacquer Results
Joe Handley replied to Tonioseven's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Those look great Tonio, nice job! If other places are like the HTU I work at, we can't keep them in stock and seem to only be able to get the Orange, Reds, White and sometimes the clear!
