  1. Hey guys...long time no see I've been busy in real life as well as entertaining a couple of redheads and some asians on the model bench(see another post i'm about to make after this). I lost some inspiration after putting so much in the motor, and just not being happy at all with the wheels...something about putting so much into a kit and using the wheels you know your not happy with just kills it..so here is a poll of sorts... what do you guys think of these new hoops? I finally got some mold making rubber and promptly casted these puppies up by the boat load..lol they are modded Salt Flat Specials from the revell WOF 57 Chevy...what do you guys think of that molded finish? its pearl ex silver brushed into the mold, then black resin poured in. Tires are bigs and littles from a Tamiya 360 Modena with some other lips I casted(and need to cast - the chrome ones) to widen them up. Anyway I'm back on this one somewhat, I want to get it finished before august to enter in the CKM NNL Summer Classic. Hope you like it guys..sorry for my absence.. Gray
  2. Chris, Thats what I'm hoping too with the aoshima version...same with the Nismo Z (not saying tamiya's isn't accurate, i just want something different, plus 10 bucks difference in price on the gtr makes it for me) I'm also betting the aoshima version will be easy to lower(come on, you know I ain't building my first gtr kit stock) and it will eventually spawn a different tuner versions as more come about in the real world. Speaking of Ferrari's, I saw photos of the Fujimi Scuderia..man that looks nice!! Gray
  3. I guess I didn't look the site over well enough..lol thanks Olle....I'm looking for someone who sells em online too..I do most of my shoppping online since I simply don't have enough time anymore to drive much distance to hit up a hobby shop(i know I'd much rather support my lhs's though) Thanks man, now I can finish my hot rods! Gray

  12. Ken, Thanks for the review man, I'm a big fan of jdm cars myself. This looks like a good kit, very nice that aoshima went and tooled up a stripped interior for us. Only one question..do my eyes deceive me or is there no interior door panels? it looks like there are recesses there on the tub, but I don't see anything on the trees..otherwise though..great kit. I have their s13 silvia kit and its wonderful, I just wish they'd tool up a 180sx now. Gray
  13. ooh, ooh, first post!.... looks reeeeeaaal good there Kenny, you did a great job on this one, stance, paint, top chop, motor...all look great, glad it turned out good for you Gray

Another v8 swapped 240sx coupe with silvia front end
  15. I guess I missed this one somehow in all the hubbub of life...but man thats slick! I like the interior....much props on the great job there, also the bigs and little really look good, good luck with the rest of it man Gray
  16. Loving that color Tom, also the motor looks great as well, keep up the great work on this, i'll be watching it.. Gray
  17. Nothing wrong with the 302, with some work they look good too, thats why I went with the 302 on my 32 roadster. I can't wait to see more of this Ajay, its already shaping up to be one of your usual great builds. Keep up the great work Gray
  18. I love that color Antonio, i'm going to have to build something that color soon, the interior looks great too, I like this little wagon. Keep up the great work as usual man Gray
  19. For your first rat....I think it turned out great!!! good detailing on the motor, and the paint looks just right, also very good job on the track nose, looks better opened up some, plus it really fits with the style of the car. Good work man Gray
  20. Looks good Antonio, the R33 was what got me into Skylines initially so I always like seeing them...Great job on it! Gray
  21. The whole car looks pretty mean, Looks like its ready for Robocop to come get in and go catch some baddies... very cool concept, I like the toughness of it. Gray
  22. I think its coming along very well Ismael, I know with your level of skill it will no doubt be a stunner when done, good to see a build of an uncommon kit. Gray
  23. hey I recognize that car..lol Looks like your off to a good start, I've never built an MR2 myself, but i like the old ones like you are building. Good choice on the wats too, they fit the nature of the car(i'd use them on everything I build but they don't quite work on some stuff..lol) Good luck with the rest of the build. Gray
  24. Ok I'll play.. here is a Fujimi S13 Silvia..only red one i've got at the moment.. Gray
  25. Chris, I use pactra rc finish laquer thinner to thin my nail polishes and auto paints...it isn't nearly as hot and so far i've had no issues with it in my paint jobs. When using nail polish thought remember that some of the nail polishes are very thin color wise and require alot of coats to build up color. the orange i'm using on this looks peach unless I build up enough color, thats why I added some pearl to it, and i'm going to add a drop or 2 of hok candy tangerine base to give it some more solidity. Oh I'm hoping I won't get her sick..i'm over the flu, plus she had her flu shot not too long ago.. Thanks everyone for the comments on the motor...after seeing Kenny's 34 truck thread I saw one motor detail I left out...other than that its done..I bmf'd the starter and oil filter last night and put those on and decaled the dizzy..now all thats left is the exhaust and the other little detail(oil dipstick) and I can move onto the suspension and brakes. Gray
