  1. I've been lurking thru this thread and figured it was time to say hello..lol I really like the paint colors you have chosen and the stretch is great! I can't wait to see this one finished.
  2. can't wait for the K-123 to come out and hopefully Hobby Lobby will carry that too...I want a few of those. Wish AMT would re-pop the Cruiseliner too...I've got 2 of the Stevens issues, but one came with a busted cab and warped parts, and the second came with a good cab and heavily warped parts.
  3. the purple one and it's stretch look great. The transporter is looking good too. Gray
  4. I think that movie is good only for the visuals of all the trucks. I am also upset that COE's aren't made anymore, those are my favorite style trucks So far as stretched trucks go, I like them from a purely aesthetic point, and most that I build will be stretched.
  5. Hey guys, I finally feel like I have something to post on this even though its not much. This started out as a model club group build and its become a bit of an obsession and a taste changer in terms of what I wanna build now (more big rigs). Anyway, my plan for this is an owner/operator rig, mild custom, flashy color shift paint with a stripe set-up similar to what is on the box. I may add some fenders to the back, and a one of those texas bumpers on the front....not sure yet. So far i've been doing clean-up of the parts(mis-aligned molds.. booo) and this weekend I finally did the chassis stretch using an extra titan chassis from a box of parts off ebay. I also want a cab guard and will prolly use the one shown. My plan was also to build up a small flat drom, but I don't think the stretch was enough to allow that to fit. I'm still learning about trucks so bear with me on inaccuracies, I know of 2 i've got on here already. Anyway, here are the rough mock up pics i've got with more to follow showing a bit more work(and paint soon) After this one is done i've got a stretched Cruiseliner, and a UPS COE I want to build, and then I'll try my hand at a conventional.. Thanks for looking guys Gray
  6. Just go to Hobbylobby.com and print one out, or you can set up for emails(like I did) and get the weekly specials in your inbox. They don't have 40% off every week, but it seems as though its every other week.
  7. Great job man, I'm a Titan/Astro fan so I always like seeing them, the new grill looks good. I'm planning a mid 80's astro aero eventually. Gray
  8. Hey guys, Stopped by my local Hobby Lobby at lunch yesterday to pick up the amt White Freightliner Dual Drive kit and saw that hey are now carrying the Chevy Titan 90 kit. It's priced the same as the Freightliner at 36.99 but with the 40% off it comes to 24.00 bucks with tax..that's not bad for what I consider a great truck kit that can be used under most anything.... Gray
  9. I'd say so!..great find, this one was a grail for a loooong time, I finally picked one up last year off of a Porsche forum
  10. Yep, you sure did!..i need to start looking out for some of these old cool books, I remember one from way back that did a custom job on the revell 55 nomad, used one of those plastic welder things to do a canted in headlight thing...still used thread with beezwax wiring for detailing the motors.. Gray
  11. After hearing about this Building Model Trucks book by Phil Jensen, and the inspiration it has provided to many people, I wanted to see about getting a copy...I've also heard its made of unobtanium....well I spent 30 minutes on amazon and found this copy, in very good condition for 4 bucks, and 3 bucks shipping....a week later(today) it came.. Yeah...having gone to the end of the internet and back has its rewards..lol
  12. hmm..surprisingly few motorcycles... this is my recently acquired and intermittently reliable Buell X1..when its running good I commute 25 miles one way almost every day of the week this is my 2000 Impala sitting next to the Buell...its also about as reliable as the Buell..lol. But I have to say it goes like stink for a big floaty boat. this used to be my daily before I wrecked it and before fatherhood..fun car then waaaaay back in the day before the 240 I used to drive this beast..and I drove it like a darn sports car..as you can see in this autocross pic..lol Gray
  13. Great looking build!..i've got a question though, i'm fairly new to trucks so whats an SBFA?
  14. Wow guys we are 2 and 2 tonight with extremely useful threads for me...I'm now in search of 22 tires for my AMT Titan, cause i think the stock wheels look a little dinky. Great info again!

  16. Jeff I look forward to seeing more on this..I'm one of those guys who doesn't have the money to waste on big name aftermarket parts(though sometimes I do).. Thanks Gray
  17. me too..along with 2 other color shift colors...
  18. Stopped by the local hobbytown to get a can of pactras color change paint, and this was there..it said "buy me" and so I did...very pleased with it, except for the tires and wheels..but i'm not going to use those anyway..i'm building a replica of my favorite car in Forza 3 that's Cyber Gray with a blue pearl coat over it, gran sport stripes, and the hero car hood stripes(doubtful those will make the cut)and Advan wheels...also nice to know they fixed the dry sump issue This is the first revell Vette i've picked up since the first C5's came out years ago..and I never did build those... Gray
  19. Thanks guys! Jeff this one was mine...a tamiya Nismo Edition Z
