Thanks guys and Thanks Doug for all the help and comments, and Doug, i've got my eyes on at least 5 more truck kits so this won't be the last one you guys see from me. Here is a little teaser for you... tires are So-Real Truxus..which fit the kit wheels very well. When I bought the kit I was thinking of a 4wd/6wd set up, slightly showy truck...dunno what it would tow or be used for, but it looks tough to me. I've got my eye on the drive front axle set-up and the 8V71 turbo add-on from Sourkraut, and i've got parts for a single axle conversion in the back if I go that route. Anyway once I get some detailing work on the motor and chassis i'll start a full on build thread. Thanks Gray

Some new rubber & not just off-road!

there will be an order placed tomorrow for the wide tires..yay! -
Right now for me, being a newb to the truck modeling scene i'll say I really like the Chevy Titan/Gmc Astro whose style is what prompted me to buy the kit for my club build. Overall after ingesting much information on trucks in the last week, i'm pretty much a cabover guy...the uglier the better. I'm really digging the European single axle cabovers a lot.. Gray

Hey guys, My model club is starting up a group build and the theme is big rigs. I've never built one before but i'm looking forward to trying something a little different. The kit i've chosen is the AMT Chevy Titan 90.. dunno why but i like the styling of it. Mine is going to be built mostly stock with some fancy paint. My main question is where can I find some reference photos and or plumbing diagrams for the 8V71 that comes in that kit, since I really want to add a nice amount of detail here and there. Also from what i've seen pretty much everyone assembles the chassis on these big trucks then paint it all one color...then pick out the details..am I right on this? Anyway, i'm excited about this, any help you guys can provide would be great. Thanks Gray

Hey guys, I swear I remember someone posting a thread somewhere speaking about a diecast truck that had an excellent set of artillery style wheels with wide whitewall tires on it. anyone up here remember it? i'd like to find one of those trucks, i did some searching of threads but didn't find anything. Sorry I know this is vague..but i've looked to the best of my ability Thanks Gray

Hmm, I ordered one, and it showed one left, now it shows 2..I think it shows how much is left before orders are paid for. I've ordered from them before(also have my Aston DBS on pre-order) they are good people. The fact that they have a regular discount on items is why i'm slowly moving away from HLJ.. -

Porsche Topic!!! anything porsche!
Gray Smith replied to B_rad88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The blue is mixed from some light green nail polish I had and a ton of blue green, and interference blue pearl ex powders. and this was the second body I painted after the first one got dropped and shattered. This was supposed to be my version of Sally from Cars, for my little girl of course... And its one of the Fujimi Enthusiast kits, I've got like 7 of them..lol, including the ultra cool 80's excess revell/fujimi Gemballa Avalanche, might be time to bring that one out.. -

AWESOME IDEA! you know i've got enough of these em kits to make up a set of 4 wheels, and I always like the way the steelie looked, never popped in my head that I could do something like that... oh and here is my 911 model.. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n225/grayelysemakalya/Models/Fujimi%20Enthusiast%20911%20Carrera%20-%20Sally/craptastic.jpg' alt='craptastic.jpg'> Gray -
LOL yeah, I meant to say IH Scout...my brain took the day off yesterday Cool, I just looked that up and that seems like an easy one to do..Thanks Dave! Gray

I just wanted to thank you guys for making me go out and buy the Mount'n Goat Jeep Commander, and 2 sets of So-Real wheels and tires yesterday...all these nice threads with lifted vehicles has made me wanna build something else 4wd...so that gives me an IC Scout, the Jeep Commander, and a Toyota Hilux that i'm repainting. Rodney, great work on the CR-V, i'm digging all the mods and i'd def drive it in real life. I'm using this thread and the others by Dave as reference/inspiration. Any tips on scratching up suspensions? I need to lift the IC Scout some and its suspensions are kind of basic. Keep up the great work Rodney! P.S. Thanks for the link Jeff, thats just the place I was looking for!

I guess i'll join in on this one too... AMT 454 SS I'll make a separate wip thread too, but so far this is all i've got pics wise...I'll get more soon.. just a basic build, low but not slammed, kind of a hopped up parts truck if you will. Engine work is underway as well as the initial primering
