    32 Ford

Looks great David! where in Charlotte are you located? I'm looking for some fellow modelers to hang out with. I live off of Pineville/Mathews rd. not too far Rea rd. and 485 Gray
  2. man...I NEED that offy engine....hmm and I see a few other items of interest too.. Just to add, I can't say enough about the quality of the parts and the superb quality of service you get from Norm...he is awesome! Gray
  3. this sounds very promising...looks like round 2 is really trying to look after us. I think i'm going to have to pick a new General kit, i've not built one in many many years..
  4. She's a beauty Marc...looks great as always. Good to see some new stuff from you. Gray
  5. Looks good man!, very sweet build.. I just picked one up yesterday from the local hobbytown... great kit and that new engine is nice. Gray
  6. Hey guys...long time no see? yep a real update on this one after it has sat in the box for over a year. I can chalk this progress up to the new 32 5-window sitting on the floor next to the roadster..and the 32 sedan(go figure the one 32 5-window I get and that beautiful new engine has a short shot on one of the block halves!) Anyway the paint ain't perfect, the remaining detail won't be as much as the motor, but this one is on its way to being finished. I obsessed for too long on a neat front suspension design, only to lose interest. SO its getting kit stock parts, lowered of course. I'm going to build up a quick belly pan to cover the exhaust, rear suspension, and to tie in the rear diffuser. the new paint is my own custom mix of nail polish, pearl ex gold, white, red pearls, and some HOK candy tangerine, topped off with a few coats of testors wet look clear. I'll polish it up, and build up the chassis first, then I'll glue the body on and finish the interior afterwards. If it looks halfway presentable i might take it to the CKM contest coming up.. anyway enough long winded typing..here is a semi decent pic of the paintwork. enjoy! Gray sorry i've been out of action over the last year guys...I've really lost all ambition to build, i've been working on some bikes, but nothing car wise...i have to force myself sometimes to do work on them...this is one of them...i'm trying to make the builds fun and simple again...
  7. Oh thats cool, I def want to pick one of these up...let us know when we can order it...
  8. Glad to know i'm not the only one wishing for more modern subjects...and modern subjects other than ones with a prancing horse on them.. I'm interested in the Model A but thats it... I'd love to build a new zr1, a Veyron, and some of the other more modern cars, but oh well... maybe eventually we will see some of these.. Gray
  9. Antonio, I'll add that giving Norm a call is a great idea, he is super nice over the phone and can help you out in maybe finding other items to buy..lol(he has stuff not listed in the catalogs) I made a big order with him last summer, and did it all over the phone...super A+ guy and he offers some great parts. Gray
  10. I saw it about 11:45 opening night... spoilers so don't read if you haven't seen it... The beginning sequence takes place before tokyo drift cause Han is in it...and talks about the Tokyo scene..then it fast forwards a year or so and happens possibly after Tokyo Drift, but Letty is driving Hammer when it is wrecked as well... plus the ending could place it before Tokyo Drift cause of what happens.. but anyway it was very entertaining, didn't make me think too much, and had some good eye candy.....it was worth my 10 bucks and 2 hours Gray
  11. can't help you with a resin kit, but I might be able to offer help finding the 1/32 toy again. I used to buy stuff on yahoo japan auctions all the time thru a proxy service, I managed to get a few rare items that way, including the very rare fujimi Mugen Crx for about 20 dollars, and an ever more rare Nissan Sileighty dealer brochure... you do have to pay a fee when going thru a proxy, but sometimes its the only way to find something. Try www.rinkya.com I am signed up with them, though i've never used them, but they have been around for a long time., the one I used to go with isn't around anymore. Hope this helps Gray
  12. Has anyone tried Micheal's arts and crafts? They sell the plasti-cote stuff in gray and white(at elast the last itme I was there they did, plus they sell some cool metal finish paints too.. Give em a shot..plus you can use a coupon and get the big cans for like 3-4 bucks Gray
  13. Oh i'm good Ken, thanks for the offer, I'm just building a Silvia this time around...not trying to replicate my old car, just something like it. I've got one of those Fujimi Sil80's too..it will be built into a replica of my old ride. Thanks though Gray
  14. Man o man..I leave this thread for a few hours and it just blows up... Antonio..if you are sure you don't need it, i've got a tamiya 180sx that could sure use it...pm me.. Nick and Dave, oh you should have seen my collection of jdm magazines...I had an original S13 Silvia hyper rev and quite a few option/drift tengoku/young version magazines dating back to 2000...i've also get a few Option vids and Hot version DVD's Imports never truly left my blood...I'll always like them, but the soft spot will be for 240's I'm thinking that maybe....just maybe if I get enough back on my taxes i'll see about finding a cheap non-running s13 shell and go from there... we will see.. I'll get some more posted on this soon.. i've already lost some desire to build for the moment..lol Thanks everyone, this one has been a long time coming... Gray
  15. Hey guys.. Before I post the model, let me give you some back story on my love of the Nissan chassis code name S13, also known as the 240sx in the USA. My affair started about 8 years ago when I bought my second car..my dream car...a 90 240sx.. a few years later and a few dollars thrown at it and I ended up with this... this, you could say was my dream car..better to me than any Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette...stuff like that...mostly cause every nut and bolt turned on that car was turned by me, is was turbo'd so it was quick, but not rediculously fast, it handled very well, and in the rain(or anytime with some healthy throttle application) it would break the back end out. Unfortunately it met with an untimely end, and I became a father, and it was time to move on. To this day I still miss it some, but I choose to have my fleet(7 kits i think and counting) of s13s in small scale. This kit I've had for a while, and didn't want to build a bone stock Silvia....but I didn't want to go wild and "drifterish" I mainly wanted to go with something like what I had, not stock, but not wild. This is also my first time building a body kit of any kind, and using Tamiya 2 part epoxy putty(and man I do like it!!!). I was trying to replicate the sides and rear of a factory body kit that was offered late in the model cycle on the Japanese 180sx... the front bumper is modeled after a bumper that I wanted on my car by a company called K-style, this bumper was used on the old Team Orange Sil80 truck drift car for those in the know. here is the initial build up of body kit pieces and here it is now...with some 2 part putty laid down and shaped, I still need to work on the shapes some, but I feel i'm close. now those who know me, know I have a wheel fetish and can't decide on a set of wheels to save my life..here are some of the choices i'm running thru at the moment. an 18/19" size Volk RE30 an 18/19" size Advan Racing RS and the set i'm really leaning towards a 17/18" size Wedsports SA-70's and the kit sourced Work CR Kai's So far as what I plan to do to this kit? Well finish the body kit, If I build a US based car then I need to convert the interior over to LHD since aoshima didn't make it that way(fujimi parts to the rescue), a set of r34 skyline seats, a low but not wheels tucked ride height, and a paint job with a cool blue/green nail polish i've got topped with some kustom color Carribean Surf flip, i'm still not sure about using the engine insert that came with the kit, since if I build the engine, i'll have to detail it and then i may lose interest...this one is supposed to be fun so..we will see. Hope you like it guys, comments and critiques welcome, and as soon as I have daylight i'm finishing up the Z Gray
  16. Hey Man, good luck with your build..I'm interested in seeing what you do it it. I've got one myself that is/was a rough built up, still haven't figured out how to get the paint off it yet. Mine will be resto modded too, but its going to be done like a many moons ago scetchpad drawing in the other magazine... Gray
  17. Thanks for all the compliments guys, I appreciate it. I got home tonight and was determined to try and finish this one. All it needs now is the muffler to be painted and installed and I can call it done...the next post will be in the under glass section. Nick, thanks buddy..I think I got what your message said and yeah...alot has been going on. Raul, nothing wrong with a few rods, the Raptor and its Hauler are awesome stuff, I've got a 32 Sedan i'm also working on...unfortunately i've lot alot of the interest on that 32 roadster I have in progress...I'm re-thinking the whole car now..lol Hope you like it, and as always comments and critiques are always welcome. Oh and the Silvia will h ave an update soon hopefully...I'm trying to not have modelers ADD Gray
  18. Thanks Dave, your right, not everyone likes the 3-spokers, but they have always been my dream wheel, back when I had my 240 i was saving up for a pair of those.. They are whats going on the car, when I got the re30's I though they looked better, but when the body is placed on the chassis, the ride height makes the advans perfect. btw the I haven't totally forgotten about the Ferrari, just need to right it down to check it out for you. Gray
  19. Heres my hopefully first build of 2009 and first in a while. Its mostly box stock except for some MFH carpet inside and some Crazy Modeler p/e parts all about. I'm switching the wheels too, i'm going with the color matched advans, but I decided to put the newly released aoshima Volk RE30's up there to see what they look like. paint is spazstix super black, HOK sg100 with lots of blue pearl, and hok clear. I've also tried out future for the first time on the back half of the car and it looks good, got rid of some of the texture left from polishing(paint is thin so I didn't polish too hard) Hope you like it, and it will be done as soon as I can paint the frosted window areas...lol sorry for the picture quality, i'm working on getting a new camera... after this one is done, I'm working on this... Comments and critiques are always welcome...
  20. They look great Raul! I really liked the Raptor when I first saw it, its design just hits me in the right spot..lol. The truck and trailer both look great and carry the design very well. I'd say you have a great trio of models here, they all catch a design the is reminiscent of the 60's but is still very modern for today's times without being over the top. Great work!!! i'm inspired Gray
  21. I've got this kit too...it will probably never get built though..I bought it for the surfboard, and probably the best thing about the kit...the EFI Flattie...its a nice kit detail wise, just doubt i'll ever build it. Gray
  22. Charlotte here...love this city... Oh and a reminder to folks... swap meet in Salisbury on the 21st! I'll be there Gray
  23. Looking good man, I've got the 32 Chevy from MPC in 1/25th myself to work on one of these days. The 32 Chevy provides a nice departure from the usual 32 Ford. I'm a big fan of these cause of the elegant grill and the the hood sides. Look forward to seeing more progress on this. Gray
  24. David I commented on this over on AF but again I'll say great job on this!...and I'l see if I can find that issues of MC I want to know all I can about cf application cause my Enzo will be getting a bit of it. Gray
