Show Us Your Stash!
Gray Smith replied to Bluzboy66's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
wow, my meager stash can't compare with this stuff and apparently what I have causes great physical and mental harm to my fiance cause all she does is complain. I tell her I don't have a third of what many people have... -

carbon fibre help needed
Gray Smith replied to PeterC(MrMondeo)'s topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
my technique is to use some sol and set, some heat from a hair dryer set on low, q-tips and water...it takes a little while but i've had success with the above combo... Usually I soak the part being covered with the red bottle stuff (I can't remember which is set or sol), then get the decal on, and soak it once again with the both some sol and set, and I hit it with some heat and a q-tip til dry, then I usually repeat the process as needed... Here we go.. I'm sorry I didn't read the rules fully about glueing the chassis together before pics were taken, but trust me this was all done last night, I just got the kit home on sunday. I bought the DD kit and I swapped the SD parts with a friend...who hadn't started on his either, please let me know if this is ok with you guys...as you can see in the box, there is nothing else started on... Anyway this will be my version of a UPS truck, I'm also going to do a single headlight conversion and I've gotten in touch with Jamie to get some of his really nice 5 hole wheels. I'll either find a brown thats close to UPS brown or i'll take the easy route and order some from Scale Finishes. Like I said, this will be a quickie build with detail...trying to keep the mods to a minimum since this is also being entered in my local club group build which ends in January
-
i'll get one tomorrow...i glued the chassis together and de-seamed the suspension parts on my ups truck tonight. this will hopefully be a non-overcomplicationitis build that i'll finish quickly
-
question, do our trucks have to run a trailer to be entered? I like building the trucks but I don't know if I'll ever really do any trailers. If not then count me in for 2 possibly 3 trucks... White Freightliner SD - UPS Truck (even though they never used these, I work with what I have) Mack Cruiseliner custom with a stretched frame and a Mack v-8 and my custom Chevy Titan that i've already got a build thread for if that's allowed Thanks Gray

Ford H-Series
Gray Smith replied to Chuck Most's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This is definitely on my list of rigs to build. I'm one of those people who say the uglier they are, the cooler they are..lol This truck embodies the style of the late 50's/early 60's and I think that's why its so ugly/attractive..lol Great builds above guys btw
