  1. Now thats an unusual colour, looks great and a welcome change from the normal colours you see these built as. The panel lines are a little heavy for me but thats just my opinion, but this doesnt really distract from a great looking model.
  2. A perfect example of how good these old AMT annual kits can look when given some very nice paint and detailing, great work Tom.
  3. About $95 for a mint factory sealed AMT 67 Mercury Cougar annual kit.
  4. I've used the ultra bright chrome for a few years now, I've never had an issue with it to be honest even though others have.
  5. Had a couple of days of work this week and I managed to put this one together in 3 days which must be some sort of record for me!. This is a great kit for its age, couple of slight fit issues the rear bumper looks like it has a big gap in the photo yet it isn't that bad in person ?, and the hardtop isn't the best fit especially the tailgate, but this is just minor. I had a blast building and detailing this one. I decided to build it like the box artwork which is very nice in itself, unfortunately I had to use a different building firm as the Universal Construction ones fell apart. Comments and critique welcome.
  6. Its a prewired distributor from Fatkid models, the wires are slightly thicker than the usual m.a.d ones I normally use, I agree. Thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate them.
  7. Well spotted Harry, I'll correct that.
  8. Thanks for all the kind comments ?
  9. Great work Jan, very tidy
  10. Finished this one last night, one of my favourite kits of all time and I've built a few over the years. This is the older promodeler release that has the incorrect seats and other faults. I built it box stock apart from adding a prewired distributor, the paint is Holts rattle can red. Had a bit of fun with the 16 year old decal sheet, they broke up quite a lot, especially the tyre whitelines . I'm happy with the way it turned out and no doubt I'll build another again in the future. Comments and critique welcome.
  11. Got this very cool AMT 32 Ford Vicky today, it's from around 1966/7 the Bonnie and Clyde edition. Check out the bullet holes in the box top, love the box art too.
  12. I go for the "parted hair" look, If I was building contest models I would research firing order and do it correctly, but as I just build them and they go on the shelf, they never need to start and drive off so I dont bother with it. Ive added wires and that is acceptable to me otherwise I just get too bogged down and build even slower than I do now. But however............each to their own, I certainly admire those that put the effort in.
  13. The old IMC 48 Ford Convertible, this was back about 14 years ago and man did that kit test my patience, it didn't beat me but it also didn't look very nice at all.
  14. I'm pretty excited about the Bronco that's very good news, the low rider Cadillac can that be built stock from the kit or is it strictly a lowrider? .
  15. And the curtain closes ....... Just looked this morning and The website is now permanently closed and they are also no longer taking mail order. I did manage to get my last order in a month or so ago. I wish them all the best in their retirement and for their massive contribution to the hobby over the years, but they wont be able to relax for a long while yet by the sounds of it.
  16. Very nice Gerry, I still havent seen too many of these kits built up yet, looks great with the Magnums and a great period colour choice. Funny you mentioned about the hood sliding off easily, the Moebius Ford pickups suffer the same problem, no positive location point for the hood.
  17. If you can imagine Dick Van Dyke's (bad) London accent with a southern twang.......thats closer Lol !
  18. Great job Curtis those little Alfas were very nice cars and they did very well in saloon car racing in their day. Ive not managed to pick one of these kits up yet, but its definetly one Im looking for.
  19. Tom remember there are a lot of "foreigners" as you call them right here on this forum , Some of us know that a Long Island Ice tea is the correct name.........but then some US folks think that because we live in the UK we all personally know the Queen, speak like Dick Van Dyke in Mary poppins and that our gardens back onto Buckingham Palace. ! As for the Daytona refrence on the Bburago Corvette..........No idea ! perhaps they are referring to the horrid yellow shade they have used ...thinking it looks like a beach ....it doesn't !. Lol
  20. No apology needed here, I really like your photos like the 62 Chevy one at the beginning of this post. I normally photo my 1/25 models on a plain background. I also build 1/76 scale British truck models and I do put those in a scenery type background for photos as I think that shows the vehicle in more of a natural setting that people remember.
  21. I had a issue with a severely warped body on the new Belvedere kit, and they were a great help for me. I had to pay for shipping, understandable as Im in the UK, but it was very reasonable and I had it shipped very quick. Great service
  22. If I like the look of a model I'll make a comment, if I see something that's glaringly obvious or would improve the model I will offer constructive advice if that makes sense. I am by no means a perfect builder, I try my best, but because of my own abilities sometimes I feel I'm out of place to make comments on another modellers hard work. I post my own builds on here for everyone to see and I really appreciate it if someone points out an error I have made, I can only learn by my own mistakes, and that's what makes us better modellers.
  23. This is great news ☺
