Erik ....all the time !, I make a mistake on every model I do normally down to impatience on my part, especially with paint. I'm also very guilty for all of a sudden getting inspiration to work on a model at 11pm at night just before bedtime!...when I could have done it a lot earlier Lol.

Its funny how you all mention the issues with teh Ultra Bright, ive had the exact same wrinkling problem, the improved chrome is difficult to get over here in the UK, Im starting to wonder if the Matte Aluminum would look better ? Oh and I also hate foiling wheelarch trims...in fact i normally paint them to be honest. Sorry Ray pulling your fantastic model off topic here....

Absolutely stunning work Steve, I love the work in the engine bay.

Looks great Carl, I have one of these too do myself one day and it will also be the Bullitt Mustang.

www.modelhaus.com The wheels don't have a part number. They are just called '53 Hudson steel wheels & are in the Nascar section. Hope this helps. Thanks Al, Ill take a look
-
Al that is just awesome, love it and the wheels make a big difference compared to the stock open type that come in the kit. Would you have the number of the wheels from Modelhaus ?
-
Thats the one Mark ...shame I thought it looked a pretty accurate kit, oh well maybe I can trade it on and some point.

Only some of the '68 kits were way off (Camaro, Firebird, Chevrolet SS 427). The boxes for those are marked "AMT for '68". The Corvair was also a "for '68" deal; I don't have that one, but would guess that it is a '67 that was not updated. Some of the others (Falcon, Chevelle) couldn't be built 100% stock but were accurate for the most part. The Falcon didn't have stock wheels, the Chevelle didn't have a stock engine. Those weren't marked "for '68", just '68. The Corvette was the worst of the bunch, probably the worst thing AMT ever cranked out. Thanks for clearing that up Mark very interesting. One thing that concerns me now is I have an AMT original annual Corvette in my stash pile thats boxed as a Frog/AMT probably something to do with reboxing for the UK market, I cant tell if its a 68 or a 69 kit but it does come with a bunch of racing parts, I didnt realise this kit was so bad ?, I know ive made this Quarter masters post go off on a tangent ...sorry about that guys. Maybe if I post some photos up later someone can identify the year of the kit for me ?.

Im a bit clueless about these AMT for 68 kits can anybody shed any light on them?, from what I understand AMT lost the annual promo/kit contract for GM and MPC got it, is that correct?. So the 68 editions cannot be built stock at all?, are the bodies way off or just not accurate enough for stock?.

Great job Lee, never seem to see many of these 69 kits built up, I missed out on getting one of these the last time they were repopped, be nice to see it again someday...and Im pretty sure Round 2 will do just that.

Ordered mine from Ballzanos earlier today so hopefully should receive it by end of next week here in the UK, can't wait to get it. -
Thanks tony, looks fantastic, Ive always been afraid of using any spray can lacquer over hobby acrylics as I thought they may react funny.
-
This is just stunning Tulio, as always from you. I followed your build of this one on youtube too, great work mate.

Next up from Moebius ?
Mr Stock replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Id like to see Moebius release a 67-72 Chevy pickup, with modern tooling this would sell very well, just look at the recent Ford bumpside kits...ok maybe not a perfect kit but its selling like hotcakes !. Or maybe a 1st gen Bronco ? -
There you go Steve , I can't take credit for this scan it was kindly scanned by someone else on the kit review thread.
-
Al I love this, I've been eyeing up that kit for a while, looks like it's worth buying, great job on the chrome work too !

Very nice Gene, I particularly like the AMX, such a great looking car.
