Love that Merc Tulio, its good to see older builds, I only have one left from years back an AMT 55 Chevy Nomad gasser.

Hi all this is the latest model Ive completed. This is the AMT kit which dates from the mid 90s I think, it was a great kit to put together, highly recommend it. I tried to paint it as close to factory Glacier Blue as possible, this one was built as part of an online community build on YouTube in the "Box stock" category, so this is built just with what comes in the box, no added detailing was allowed, hence the lack of spark plug wires etc. Hope you like her...... Gary

Love it Tulio, I will hopefully have this kit under the xmas tree .....fingers crossed, I have wanted it for ages, even for it does have body shape issues. As always you have done a superb job mate.

Sure hope so Casey, it would seem a little under finished without those stripes, still a nice kit to have though, certainly glad i bought it.

Received my kit over here in the UK today, first let me say I love the box art I think it looks superb, the kit itself looks to be in good shape there is some moderate flash on some parts, the body is very nice again a little bit of flash, a couple of mold seems on the C pillar, and a couple of sink marks on the front fenders that will need fixing, overall nothing major for a pretty old tooling. The decal sheet is nice, shame it has no factory striping options though , photos are below, sorry for the poor light in them its 9pm and my camera isnt the best at low light shots.

Very smart, good job on the resto

Whats so bad about them?.....where do you want me to start ? In all fairness they werent a "bad" car as such, they were out of date by the time they were launched in 1971, the underpinings of the Marina were essentially the same as a Morris Minor which was already 23 years old in 1971, lever arm dampers and cart springs. You daren't try and go into a corner in the 1800 engine version at any more than 30mph (you would just plow straight on !) Add to that the classic British leyland build quality of the 70s......you get the picture. In its defence though, they sold them by the bucketload, and they were a very popular car in then 70s/80s in the UK at least, Airfix did make a 1/32 scale kit of the TC version back in the 70s very difficult to find now though. But back to topic....not exactly quirky, but i would love to see any of these kitted by revell De Ford Escort Mk1.......road and rally versions Ford Capri mk1 Peugeot 205 Gti (road car) Triumph Stag Jaguar XJ6 series 1 And for quirkiness how about an NSU RO80 ?

Too much choice: I need a hand!

Voted for the Ciatation ... -
That 57 Ford wagon is a must have for me, be cool to see it as a police version too.....which means I have to get the Revell/MK 57 Ford police car as well (cos they will look good together). SWC Willys is another Id like, and the 240z and Im glad to see the 59 Caddy hardtop back too Now ....where is that money tree !!

Jeff can I ask how much the decal sheet was please ?

Welscome to the forum Steve, Im also from the UK and understand exactly what you mean about buying US kits over here.......very difficult, I source most of mine from ebay or through Facebook, however there are a few online retailers in the US where if you order one kit at a time you do not seem to pay any customs charges, the shipping can be a bit pricey they average out at about £22-24 a kit including postage, which still works out cheaper than you would probably pay over here for the same kit. Drop me a Pm And Ill give you a few websites to look for.

Really looking forward to this one and the Comet and the Ford pickups.....I will also agree with the opinion on the Chrysler 300, I built the Tim Flock version and it really was one of the nicest kits Ive ever built.
-
Nice work, I had one of these kits a few years back but sold it on ...wish I didnt

Superb work J, looks just the part..

That is just superb Jason, I have this kit and if I can get it half as good as this Id be happy, love the detail and the colour choice.

Digital version of model cars magazine
Mr Stock replied to N~8~Ball's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Im in the UK and I can tell you now I would sign up straight away if Model Cars mag ever goes digital. Ive read the sample issue to death !!, I already subscribe to the "other" mag digitally through Zinio as its by far the cheapest way to get it over here. Plus reading Harry's description of the actual process of making the mag...its a no brainer, its already there in digital format ?? -
Looks the part Shay, good work
