New Revell NASCAR kits
Danno replied to martinfan5's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
The excuses don't matter when the bottom line gets too pricey to justify from the consumer's perspective. -
And, he did well at Modelzona! {Hand-off to proud Grampa for the full announcement!}

Sweet and sinister at the same time.

Outstanding work, Chris! Excellent progress. I really like the way you 'stage' the mock-ups to reality-check your in-progress work.

$25 for a snapper. Yikes. -
I've always considered you a credible authority on the hobby, Mark, so no disrespect is intended. Barris repainted the Cosma Ray and put his 'Barris Kustom' badge on the front fenders. My understanding has always been that the MPC kit does not credit any one builder because Starbird was contracted to Monogram. Atypical for the times, even the instruction sheet has no descriptive blurb identifying the car's genesis. You are correct; Barris had a far more than impressive body of work that he had actually built. He had no need to steal the thunder of others. Yet he did or tried, time and time again. It is more than a shame that he felt compelled to embarrass himself by trying to steal credit from others for so many cars he did not create or build. Once or twice would be a shame. More than that was something else again.

Barris also tried to take credit for Darryl Starbird's Cosma Ray. He had nothing to do with designing and building the car, he merely bought it once and claimed it as his work.

That's the spirit, Greg! Positive attitude prevails!!

I know you're all wondering . . . well, at least one or two of you. Yes, I survived all three earthquakes last night. That doesn't sound like much to you California guys, but, hey! We don't get many earthquakes in Arizona . . . let alone three of them within two hours less than 25 miles from home! A 3.9, a 4.0, and a 4.1. Regardless, I survived. (With no damage or injuries.) Actually, had an exceptional weekend before that. Grandson had a bountiful Halloween. No Halloween damage. My Cardinals won BIG! My Broncos won BIGGER! My Royals won HUGE!! My man Jeff Gordon WON!!!! And, he now leads the NASCAR Chase!!!! (Only 3 races to go.) And, like I said, survived the Earthquake Hat Trick! I'm gonna go buy some lottery tickets!

Hey, Bill! Would you kindly show us, too?! This forum would be a great venue for a little Mr. Obsessive Tutorial on flattening the roof. Please? Pretty please? Thanks . . . in advance.

It's working for me right now. But, I can't speak for April 2009. I don't remember. -
What irked me was that I was driving home this evening, and while it was getting dark out and raining, I noticed several cars without their lights on. What gives??? Morons. Idiots. The 47%.
