  1. They should be, but they aren't. Too much, 'ME ... ME ... ME ... ME ... ME. If it feels good to ME, then to h...e...double hockeysticks with everyone else.'
  2. Interesting that most of the posts that complain loudly about "inaccuracies" in model kits, contain multiple 'inaccuracies' in English, spelling, syntax, and grammar. Why can't posters get it right when they complain about other people getting it right?
  3. Tom, The roof situation was only a temporary fix - the final, fixed structure could not be in place by the event date. It will be by next year. {We watched the weather reports VERY closely and had a 'Plan B' in event of moisture.}
  4. Trout. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
  5. I don't know if it will go bad, but it certainly gets a little testy!
  6. More on what Nitrozilla Joe said: This is one of those rare models that actually transcends modeling. Sitting on the table, it looks every square centimeter like a shrunken REAL car. It is uncanny. Your mind is tricked into thinking you are looking a real car. Truly. You have to remind yourself it is a miniature. Then you remember . . . it is no kit. Superlative execution. I just can't wait until it is finished enough that Chris will stop messing with it!
  7. Tom, and everyone: Have a great event, a great time, and a great weekend!!! Best to all, Danno and everyone at Moonlight Modelers Club, Cactus Car Modelers Club, and DESERT SCALE CLASSIC
  8. Nice.
  9. That's nice, Jonathan. I always refer to large, white cars as Norges or refrigerators, so I guess I'll have to call this one a mini-fridge!
  10. We realllly missed you, Tim! It just wasn't the same without Paula and you being there. {And Symonds had his run of the raffle!}
  11. Dittos! And, I'm sorry Joe didn't git 'er done, but she was a beautiful display regardless! Great to meet you Joe. Look forward to seeing you again next time!
  12. Nice. Great job with the paint.
  13. Bingo! Again. It's Tom Novak, builder of the 1:1 Sidewinder and John Teresi, builder of the 1:12 Sidewinder. They were at DESERT SCALE CLASSIC yesterday. I have a great pic of the little one sitting on top of the big one. I'll post it tomorrow. Gotta get some rest . . .
  14. The guy on the left in the first picture sure is good looking! But he really needs to go on a diet.
  15. DSC is presented by the Cactus Car Modelers Club. Something we do at Desert Scale Classic: Most of the judges for the critically-judged competition are club members. We do not allow club members to enter or compete against our guests in the critically-judged competition. However, we stage a simultaneous 'peoples choice' style contest for our club members and we encourage the spectators, guests, and competitors to 'judge' the club members' entries by voting in certain categories. We tally all the votes, and the club members win awards. Results: Peoples Choice Best Engine - Steve Prideaux ('74 Corvette Road Racer) Peoples Choice Best Interior - Jeff Alderman ('69 McLaren M8B Can Am Racer) Peoples Choice Best Detail - Steve Prideaux (Bonneville Belly Tanker, Trailer, and Hauler) Peoples Choice Best Paint - Raoul Coulombe ('70 Plymouth Road Runner) Peoples Choice Best of Show - Jeff Alderman ('77 Lotus Type 78 F-1 Racer) Many thanks to all who took time to examine our club entries and cast ballots.

  17. Outstanding pictures, Mike! Thanks for sharing them. I'll post results in a little bit. As mentioned, the word 'tired' is an understatement. {Many dragons slayed yesterday.}
  18. This is an absolutely stunning model. Even in its unfinished state, it is impressive!! Just wait 'til next year!
  19. Saw it in person yesterday at DESERT SCALE CLASSIC. Totally AMAZING! Another masterpiece from the Master Piecer-Togetherer. Congratulations, John, on your Best of Class win with this beauty! Clayton: Sorry you ended up missing DSC. It was an awesome day! Plan on being here next year - April 9, 2016.
