  1. Beautiful builds!
  2. Jeeeeeez. Now you gotta do the peephole 'sunroof' too! This's never gonna be done! PS: Rivet treatment of the bolts/nuts looks great!
  3. The 5th Annual GoodGuys Spring Nationals Model Car and Pedal Car Show will be Friday-Saturday-Sunday, March 7 – 8 - 9, 2014 at Westworld in Scottsdale, AZ. The Model Car and Pedal Car Show will take place all three days. Goodguys at Scottsdale is Arizona's longest-running model car/truck event! As an extra added attraction for model car/truck builders, there will be as many as 2,500 1:1 scale rods, customs, street machines, muscle cars, and special interest vehicles on display for modeling inspiration! Here's the scoop: Registration is Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 11am. You may register and enter as many models and/or pedal cars as you would like to bring. There is no entry fee to register for the Model Car and Pedal Car Show/Contest. Past winners are welcome for display. We encourage you to bring all or as many of your models as you'd like, even if they've been displayed or entered before! There will be thousands of spectators on hand to see your models and they love all varieties of model cars and trucks! Where else can your model get that kind of exposure? There is no entry fee for model cars or pedal cars, but you must pay regular admission to get into the event either Friday or Saturday in order to enter the Model Car and Pedal Car Show/Contest. Bonus! When you enter the Model Car and Pedal Car Show/Contest, you will receive a free all-day pass to enter the event on Sunday to pick up your models/pedal cars (between 2pm and 3pm). So, at the very least, you get two days' admission for the price of one! * Extra bonus! If you enter 10 or more models and/or pedal cars, you will get free admission for the day you enter as well as Sunday for pick up. Just contact the Model Car Show Director before the event for details ~ GoodAZGuy@cox.net Peoples Choice balloting and selection of the Top 12 will be conducted all three days; awards will be displayed with winning models and pedal cars on Sunday following the Revell Make-N-Take event. There will be a Best of Show award and Best Junior Model award. There will be a Peoples Choice Award and Top Twelve Models awards selected by spectator balloting. * Last fall nearly 1400 spectators voted for their favorite models! * There will be a Revell Make-N-Take event on Saturday at 1pm and on Sunday at 11am at the Model Car and Pedal Car Show. Revell will provide a free snap kit for each child 12 years of age & under who is in attendance and builds the kit at the event. Moonlight Modelers Club and Cactus Car Modelers Club members will be on hand to advise or help the youngsters with their kits if needed. The Southwest Nationals Model Car and Pedal Car Show/Contest will be inside the big ‘tent’ building (where the Barret-Jackson auction is held) at the main entry to the GoodGuys Southwest Nationals event. >>> Post any questions here, or contact the model car show director at GoodAZGuy@cox.net <<< Come see us there!!! We'll look forward to seeing you and all your model car, truck, or motorcycle creations!
  4. Looking good, Gabe! I've never been big in dragsters, either, but some of the best modeling fun I've had in years was when I built that Studebaker Superstarliner phantom FED a couple of years ago. I hope you have as much fun with your dragster as I did with mine. I'm thinking I need to build another . . . maybe with the Slingster/Sizzler kit. Watching your fun . . .
  5. I can't vouch for how Greg is with stopped-up toilets, but he's a genius with resin models and parts!
  6. It's theft ~ or should be ~ just about anywhere you go. Perhaps the state where this occurred has some screwball laws, but there is a distinction to the "employee" defense: the perp may have had permission or consent to be on the dealer's grounds and in his store, but the perp did not have the customer's permission or consent to go joy-riding. For the dealer to plead 'no involvement' requires inherently that the employee was acting outside the scope of his employment, so it is clearly theft. If the argument is that the employee was acting within the scope of his employment ('he had the dealer's permission') makes the whole debacle responsibility of the dealer, insurance or not. Another consideration is that the dealer's insurance may not cover this mess. Most insurance policies exclude intentional acts by insureds or their agents and employees. If the dealer's insurer determined the employee was acting outside the scope of his employment, the insurer might decline to cover the dealer's losses. That could explain the dealer's recalcitrant attitude. However, most insurers (and the policies they issue) will provide coverage to an innocent third party (the customer/car owner) regardless. They will often then cancel coverage for the insured [the dealer] for the non-compliant behavior and failure to prevent losses such as this. Any way you slice it, the dealer is responsible. The employee is an irresponsible jerk, but the dealer hired him and gave him access to customer cars.
  7. Agreed! Love those little old Indy Lotuses!
  8. Nice.
  9. Looking great, Brad. But I think you need another muffler clamp or an exhaust hanger up near that front crossmember, otherwise you're gonna get some serious pipe rattle when you're bouncing through the Congo!
  10. Chris, I hate to say it, but it just has to be said: Who's to say the 1:1 was as exacting as you are making your replica? Let's face it. Drills slip or wander in the full scale world, too. Your fix looks good, man. Don't obsess over a little bolt drift. As Brad says, grind 'em down and body color the whole thing and no one is going to IPMS your fastener alignment. Anybody who hasn't seen this segment of your WIP post is never going to notice anyway, because they're going to be so blown away by the overall build! Relax, dude! She's awesome as she is.
  11. Nice little stable, there!
  12. Most excellent! All aspects; model, diorama backdrop, photography. Excellent!
  13. How did I miss this one on it's first tour? Glad it's making an encore. Great build, Peter! Very innovative door operating mechanisms. Bravo!
  14. Yeah, how come Jairus didn't do a Watson?
  15. Stunning!
  16. I haven't been much into large scale, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. Are there any decal producers offering hockey stick stripes for the 1/12th Camaros?
  17. The red hockey stick stripes look best on red cars.
  18. Danno

    Been awhile...

    Nice.
  19. That's pretty breezy, all right!
  20. Nice. And it's almost Greg-Myers-color!
