  1. Nice.
  2. The problem with rail travel in the U.S.? I live in the fifth largest city/metro area in the United States, but there's no rail service here. I have to travel 2 hours by some means (car) to reach an Amtrak terminal in order to take a train that goes nowhere I would care to go. To go somewhere I would care to go (Denver), I have to travel 11 hours by car to get to an Amtrak terminal in Salt Lake City, then 15 hours by train to Denver. I can drive directly to Denver in a little more than the same 11 hours it takes to get to an Amtrak terminal, and for the same amount of wear and tear and fuel costs. I'd love to utilize rail service; there's just none available.
  3. Besides which ... it will make the wife really happier that you took her advice!! There's always inestimable value in that!!
  4. Your wife's probably right; anything else you do will likely only add 'fuel' to the 'fire.' Not only is the "friendship" not worth $40, but you can be happy with yourself knowing it was worth more than $40 to be a better person than the friend and his entrepreneurial brother/instigator. Usually better to take the high road. Just my unsolicited two-cents worth.
  5. Good stuff, Steve! Keep it up. Man, those 'caps look great!!
  6. The biggest problem with subway systems, rail systems, and bus systems is that (outside of a densely populated high-rise city) the routes are too far flung and distant from too many departure or destination locations; the second biggest problem is that our economy cannot afford to build the infrastructure to build more or subsidize the operating costs enough that potential riders will willingly purchase tickets to ride. No matter how "good" the deal, if you can't afford it ... you can't afford it.
  7. Mmmmmmmmmm.
  8. Nice.
  9. Nice.
  10. True, the photo you posted depicts one of the most significant Hudsons campaigned in racing. But your post was a non sequitur and irrelevant to the discussion at hand. The question was Pan Americana Hudsons, not NASCAR Hudsons. Thus, I wondered your point in posting the NASCAR Hudson pic in apparent response to the Pan Americana Hudson conversation. That's all. BTW, the impending ModelKing issue of the Hudson will build the Marshall Teague NASCAR Hudson depicted in the photo you posted. (Counterpoint emoticon here.) (Smiling showgirl emoticon here.) PS: Sorry to disapoint you on the emoticon thing ... I know how much you admire and respect me, so it's doubly important that I live up to your expectations! (Hope Mike's happy and satisfied now emoticon here.)
  11. Impressive trailer!! Love the spare hoist and the rear door system.
  12. Another very nice one, Zoli!! Always good to see your work! So what's chances of getting a print of your LED pattern? Pretty please ... with sugar on top!
  13. I'm detecting a recurring theme ...
  14. Supernice!!
  15. The cowl is Model T also; definately not Model A ('28-'31) or later. Interesting 1:1 "kit"bash.
  16. I was there (The Springs) until Fall '96 ... Carl was a fixture at Compleat from its Day One. BTW - Prior to being downtown on Tejon Street, Compleat was in the Southgate Shopping Center near the Broadmoor ... Carl was the resident expert on all things then, too. Don't know about later (post '96), but Carl didn't own Compleat ... he was just its brain, brawn, and nerve center. NOTHING he did not know about armor or war gaming! In the early days, he was weak on cars ... it was always fun to catch him with automotive kit LKFs (Little Known Facts), but he always got even with military trivia! One more thing ~ either of you remember "Road Apples"?
  17. La Carrera Pan Americana 2009 There was also another one, carrying the number 408, but I don't have a pic of it.
  18. That's very cool, Dave! Really nice.
