  1. Great looking build! You really captured the essence of a mid-60's GM rust bucket pick-em-up! I know ... I had one, too. You might try shooting some Testors DullCote on the rims and tires. That'll make them look more "experienced" and will be a great jumping off point for any more weathering you want to do. It'll take the "fresh out of the carton" look off the chromeys. Great job!
  2. Great project, Terry! Looking forward to watching it unfold. Friend of mine built a similar trio: Mooneyes dragster and open trailer, but with a '56 Ford station wagon tow car. Turned out quite nicely and is a major attention-getter whenever he displays it. No doubt yours is going to be a killa!
  3. Yes, that aggravated the beejeezus out of me, too. That was about as bad as it gets!
  4. What do you guys/guyettes find works best for overcoating inkjet printed decals on Testors' system paper? The Testors "Bonding" spray, One Coat clear, Tamiya clear, Krylon acrylic clear, or what? Thanks in advance!
  5. Good to hear! Be sure to introduce yourself to us all.
  6. That's very nice, Chris! Very nice.
  7. That's nice! From a golden era of motorsports. Far too few of these have been built and displayed!
  8. Neat project, Chris! Will be watching this. Thanks for posting it here.
  9. I doubt the artist would mind that you're building a model based on his illustration. I think that's the whole point of the feature in MCM ... inspiration. Good luck ~ looks like you're off to a good start.
  10. Looking real nice!
  11. Checking in on the progress. Continuing to look good! Helluva build going here! Keep it coming.
  12. Wow! How many Peugeots do we ever see built? Great model.
  13. NICE! And, it fits in well with your great group of deuces.
  14. Nice! Love the colors.
  15. WOW! Just WOW!
  16. Now that's kewl!! Nice job. (Can't believe I've missed it before now.)
  17. You're a hero for tackling this one! Looking good so far.
  18. (Peter stole my line! Or, rather, great minds think alike.) Beautiful build! Quite cheeky. The car, too!
  19. Beautiful. One of my all-time favorite cars, the early Riv.
  20. Exceptional pictures (as usual), John! Thanks for sharing them. Hope to see you at Desert Scale Classic 7!
  21. I agree with your points but I hadn't taken it more seriously than basic entertainment, and I find it more grounded than American Hot Rod, Overhaulin' and most of the ill-conceived rip-offs they've generated. I am kind of baffled by a few of the little things, like the TBird engine and some faux pas in the F100 and Barracuda projects; while dad seems generally to have the wherewithal, he slides some past the fact-checkers and some of the others just leave you scratching your head ... although the new shop manager seems to be pretty together. Ah, well, it's just TV. Still kind of fun to see my neighborhood on TV. And as you say ... the Olds guy! Sheeesh! I can't even imagine having his personal hobby budget! Wow! It doesn't hurt that the '70 Cutlass was one of my favorite 1:1 rides back in the day ... but his stuff ~~~ WOW!
