  1. It's better with a rim-shot but my drummer's a teacher from WI and he's on strike.
  2. Thanks! That was my general impression, but I knew you would know.
  3. How to tell when your subscription expires: When the magazines stop coming. Forgive me. I'm practicing for my next appearance on Jay Leno's show.
  4. Makes all 8. The components are different for each one, so there's no sharing of parts.
  5. Hey, Steve. Are the police parts the same as those in the diecast kit? Is the chassis same as the earlier Testors SRT and R/T kits? In other words, are they interchangeable? As far as I'm concerned, the decision to not prefinish any of them was just fine!!! BTW - Thanks for all you did to help the project along.
  6. Two stock wheel options plus the police steelies with dog dish caps. It has both a regular rear seat and the fiberglas molded prisoner seat. You can see the regular seat on the tree with the front and rear fascias and door panels; the prisoner seat is on the tree with the partition, push bar, and other police parts. The kit has all the same parts as the first versions (R/T and SRT), but more: There are like 4 white trees with police specific parts, plus a small chrome tree with police parts, and the clear tree with light bar domes/covers. There are no holes in the roof and ... in fact ... they molded this body with none of the upscale side trim! No sanding required! Like I said, it's an amazing kit!
  7. Actually, these are brand new units, both 150's and 250's. CVE's older units were Ram pickups. And, they're using both 150's and 250's for regular patrol assignments and smuggling mitigation teams as well as CVE. Many of the unmarked pickups are being used by investigators (particularly smuggling, gang, and auto theft task forces) and even some for staff vehicles. Besides the pickups, they're running Tahoes, a few Impalas, and still a boat load of long-tooth Crown Vics. Haven't seen any Chargers on the road, but there's still a couple of really old Intrepids that are used for running errands but not regular duty.
  8. Speaking of police pursuit vehicles, here's the latest thing in AZ Highway Patrol vehicles. They've got a bunch of them! Who needs Crown Vics?
  9. I pawed through a friend's kit (haven't gotten mine yet). Amazing kits!!
  10. It's the only one in Tucson worth going to!
  11. That's what I thought, too. In fact, in most cases I think the simpler, old classic paint schemes are far more attractive and certainly more identifiable than the fancy-schmancy high-tech wrap jobs that most of the teams run these days. I can't wait to see somebody roll out a new COT Impala with the classic Smokey Yunic black & gold ...
  12. Probably not a mistake ... probably intentional. Given the French printing on the box, Lindberg probably labeled the kit 1/24 to appeal to the Canadian and European markets since 1/24 is the "more accepted" scale internationally. They probably figure there's not much difference between 1/24 and 1/25, so why not?
  13. Tell those Revell guys they are welcome to stop in at our club meetings anytime they're in the neighborhood!!
  14. I contribute wit and wisdom and, ... I'm very 'regular!'
  15. Now that is super KEWL!!! Great job!
  16. Wow! Now, if he would just offer a 4 door sedan ...
  17. Still not sure how George Toteff impacted our hobby? READ THIS. George Toteff and Model Cars Courtesy Round2.
  18. Yup. Clearly refers to 'channeling' but describes 'sectioning.' Still, not the worst magazine screw-up I've ever seen. There's another one that consistently ... well, no need to go there!
  19. Got mine today, too. 64 pages!!! Excellent issue, as has become customary! GREAT stories, including another terrific history feature (on the Black Widow hot rod) by Dennis Doty and Gregg; a tour of the Intl Model Builders Museum in Salt Lake City by Tim Boyd; a study of stock car kits by Bill Coulter; and a multi-page feature on John Teresi's magnificent fleet of models! AND I'm betting this is the FIRST magazine appearance of a built up Moebius Lonestar. Good looking build, Tim! A CLOSE-UP look at the Offenhauser midget. PLUS several great how-to's! One awesome magazine!!
  20. Or, for that matter, Lee ... feel free to start your own forum at your own expense and promote 'free speech' by allowing anybody and everybody to bash you left and right on your own forum at your expense. You are right: It is a FREE world so long as SOMEBODY pays for it. .
  21. You have a Harry Hammer?
  22. It is sad news to hear. I feel he was a big part of my life, through his work ~~~ which became my passion. Thank you, Mr. Toteff, and God Bless. Condolences to his family, loved ones and closest friends.
  23. AMT pioneer, founder of MPC, Lindberg exec ... truly one of the founders of the hobby we know and enjoy. He passed 02-01-2011 at age 85. Here's a link to the obituary. George Toteff Obituary
  24. Well, jeeeez! I didn't count airplanes or boats or anything but cars. But, if I do count planes and boats ... just makes me feel OLDER! I'll leave it with the cars!
