Pre-order a Prius? No way. It would be bad enough to accidentally buy one, let alone intentionally pre-order one! Just MHO.

BMMark, Stop trying to confuse the debate with facts! We're operating quite well on emotion here. I wanna Studey! I wanna Rocket 88! Don't tell me they won't sell; I'll buy at least one each. So there!

Factory stock F100s did not have natural wood beds; they were painted black. Since yours has an unpainted bed, it appeared you were going custom; certainly not 100% bone stock. -
Congrats to MCM & Jairus Watson et al

The 2nd Annual GoodGuys Spring Nationals Model Car and Pedal Car Show will be Friday-Saturday-Sunday, March 11-12-13, 2011 at Westworld in Scottsdale, AZ. The Model Car and Pedal Car Show will take place all three days. Goodguys at Scottsdale is Arizona's longest-running model car/truck event! As an extra added attraction for model car/truck builders, there will be approximately 2,000 1:1 scale rods, customs, street machines, muscle cars, and special interest vehicles on display for modeling inspiration! Here's the scoop: Registration is Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 11am. You may register and enter as many models and/or pedal cars as you would like to bring. There is no entry fee to register for the Model Car and Pedal Car Show/Contest. We encourage you to bring all or as many of your models as you'd like, even if they've been displayed before! There will be thousands of spectators on hand to see your models and they love all kinds of model cars and trucks! There is no entry fee for model cars or pedal cars, but you must pay regular admission to get into the event either Friday or Saturday in order to enter the Model Car and Pedal Car Show/Contest. When you enter, you will receive a free all-day pass to enter the event on Sunday at no cost to pickup your models/pedal cars (between 2pm and 3pm). So, at the very least, you get two days' admission for the price of one! Peoples Choice balloting and selection of the Top 12 will occur all three days; awards will be displayed with winning models and pedal cars on Sunday following the Make-N-Take event. There will be a Best of Show award sponsored by the International Model Car Builders Museum; there will be Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Finish and Best Junior Model awards conferred by critical judging. There will be a People's Choice Award and Top Twelve Models awards selected by spectator balloting. Last fall nearly 1200 spectators voted for their favorite models! There will be a Revell Make-N-Take event on Saturday at 1pm and on Sunday at 11am at the Model Car and Pedal Car Show. Revell will provide a free snap kit for each child 15 years of age & under who is in attendance and builds the kit on site. Moonlight Modelers Club members will be on hand to advise or help the youngsters with their kits if needed. The Spring Nationals Model Car and Pedal Car Show/Contest will be inside the big tent at the main entry to the GoodGuys Spring Nationals event. Come see us there!!! We'll look forward to seeing you and all your model car creations! Let me know if you have any other questions. Goodguys 2nd Spring Nationals Event Info Page

Then consider it the February issue with a typo on the cover where the "month" would be. It's still Issue # 154 which comes after Issue# 153 and before Issue # 155. Chill. It's all good. *PS: Besides, it's still January. You're a few days ahead of yourself. -

Bob Peeples - Update - Bad News
Danno replied to Danno's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here’s some news about our good friend Bob Peeples, and an address for any cards, notes, or letters you can send his way to help keep him smiling as he deals with a very serious illness. He’s escaped the ICU and is now in a regular room – Room 614, same hospital. That’s the good news. The bad news is the docs have advised him to expect a stay of at least another month. The really good news, though, is that he’s gotten a lot of rest and excellent medical treatment and he is stronger and more alert, more talkative, more himself! For anyone who has marveled at the beauty and detailed intricacy of the 1/25 Cobra replica he is meticulously creating from virtually scratch; for anyone who has been awed by his talent or inspired by his craftsmanship; please take a few moments to dash out a get-well-soon card or a cheery note and send it to him. Bob has many friends here locally, and we're going to stop in for visits as he can tolerate until he's stronger and able to return home and to the work bench and to our club; he says his immediate goal is to make our February meeting on the 19th. But he's a humble guy and just doesn't realize how much he's brought to the hobby's table. We've told him that several people around our modeling community have asked about him, and it brought him both surprise and joy. So, if you have a few minutes and are so inclined, please think good, positive thoughts for our friend, throw in a prayer or two, and maybe jot out a card or a note to buoy his spirits and encourage him on. We really want to see him strong enough to get back home, back to his family, his menagerie of critters, and back to sharing his dry wit with us! And we all want him to get back to that Cobra! Bob Peeples Room 614 Banner Baywood Medical Center 6644 East Baywood Avenue Mesa, AZ 85206 . Thanks so much, friends. Dan Moonlight Modelers Speaking of his Cobra Daytona project: here's a quick refresher. He’s building (mostly scratchbuilding) a very precise replica of Cobra Daytona chassis # CSX-2601. In case you’ve never seen it, here’s the most recent pix: -
85 GMC Van 8/9/17 Fixed for Fotki
Danno replied to Foxer's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Lookin' good! Actually the ride height for the front doesn't look bad per the 1:1 pic. You're right, though, the rear is a little jacked up (when you compare the centerline of the rear axle to the bottom of the rocker panel, there's a noticeable disparity), but I'm sure you'll be able to dial it in ... it doesn't really seem to be too far off. Good job. -
Dittos X 3!! That is just purely spectacular, Chris! Thanks so much for posting it and for joining us here. (Welcome aboard!) Keep 'em coming.

Oh, sorry, George. My bad, I didn't mean to offend you. Let me resubmit it in a form/style of which you would approve: There's never ANYTHING humble about ANY of your opinions, George. It's too bad you've never seen "Cars." First of all, if you saw it and allowed yourself to understand and appreciate it, you'd realize it has a really very sophisticated storyline with valid underlying moral messages, every bit equivalent to and worthy of the traditional Aesop's fables. Its efficacy is difficult to explain to someone who hasn't seen it. The real beauty of "Cars" is that it appeals on many levels to open-minded people of all ages. It is and will long be a true classic. Even without Shakespearean actors, an epic budget, or a cast of thousands. Too bad you don't appreciate it. You DON'T EVEN KNOW what you're missing. Better?

I do believe Sam was crafting a pithy, ironic, perhaps satiric or even sardonic little pearl o' wisdom there. Sam: Well done, sir!

I have to agree with the majority here so far: Nice build, beautiful color and finish, but the tires ~ especially the rears ~ just don't work on this body or style of build. I too have found that the trouble and effort required to open and properly hinge doors is usually not worth the payback ... generally. Again, nice build!
