  1. I got the '83 Camaro and the '02 re-release, they both have pretty close to the legit tires/rim size. They're sliiiiiiiightly downscaled(on the real car the rim would reach the middle door trim in height, the model is just short of it), but nowhere near as bad as the weirdly scaled MPC tires from the '84-'92 tooling.
  2. Hah literally just made an order for 'em, some Eagle GTII outlines as well.
  3. Thanks for the box pic, Pack rat!
  4. Gotta admit, the original release back in the eighties actually was a superb kit and considerably accurate. At least, far more than the hollow shells(Christ, the framing around the windows and T-tops on the MPC tooled AMT Camaro kits were terrible) that followed the '83 one 'til '92. Not to mention MPC cheaping out on clear headlights as always. I'm really looking forward to this one, wish we got a better shot at the side showing the improved decal sheet though.
  5. From what the kit displays, that wouldn't actually look all that bad. I would've built the tuner version if I had two of 'em, kind of reminds me of a mid eighties rallycross car.
  6. Thanks! I find these kits extra interesting cause they carry a fair bit of history and somewhat of a (if not tainted) legacy to 'em, besides that as a European its real interesting to delve deeper in the dark ages of the US automotive industries, especially the early eighties where Detroit really couldnt get their y'know-what together in terms of making a low cost, high reliability car. Thanks :3 Having a good camera helps hah, does 99% of the work for me! Ohh I wanna see 'em!
  7. Yeah, 100% agreed!
  8. I've been on a kick on building the model kits from the uh, less fortunate era of the US automotive history. Got a '80 Volare, '80 Omni 024 and a '83 Charger that I oddly enough all got from a French retailer here in Europe, but also a ol' '81 Citation kit, the lowrider one with all the neat options to make it a proper X-11. Its a nice timepiece to a truly, truly awful car. Atleast this one lasts!
  9. Man, dat paint. I wanna say that not even the real FIFTY Camaro had a coat that crisp, and boy should it.
  10. Glad to see more folks enjoy a SUV totally blacked out, I mean I do adore chrome on older cars but there's always something so sinister and aggressive about a blacked out vehicle. Thanks! I gotta admit I'm a huge fan of the Camaro cause the kits are so commonly available but man, I love me a Plymouth or a Ford. I'm too much of a lurker sadly, so every once in a while I just pop a thread and fill it to burst D: A guy at work had a '70 Mustang that certainly wasn't a Boss to my knowledge but had it sprayed in metallic blue and bought aftermarket 302 stripes in white which I gotta admit I absolutely adored(darker shade though, think he meant to imitate a Shelby color), Ford really missed out on for an awesome color combo. Far as I'm aware only black had white stripes. And thanks y'all!
  11. I had a uh, creative spurt, in the last two months. And I gotta say, I do enjoy myself some variety! 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda 440-6(Keith Marks decals, '71 Cuda wing and Magnums taken from a Charger kit): 1980 Dodge Ramcharger(dechromed and satin black for funsies): 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302: 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28: And lastlyt, three of the four anniversary Camaros('92 Heritage, '02 35th and '17 FIFTY), still got the '97 Camaro on the workbench at the moment:
  12. Man, I'm still wishing for a simple '73/'74 Plymouth 'Cuda(not done as a terrible snapper, preferably on the Revell '70 platform), a mid seventies Camaro and a re-tooled/updated 1968 and 1970 Mercury Cougar. Knowing these kits all existed one way or another, it burns knowing they'll never see the light of day again. Also to second RickRollerLT1; a re-released S-10/Syclone would be killer. Hell, coming to think of it, a GMC Typhoon!
  13. Awesome, thanks for getting the info! <3
  14. Man, that Charger is nothing short of sexy and luckily thanks to the pictures my concern that it was gonna be the Fast & Furious '70 Charger again(with the '69 tail) is gone. That being said though I hope there's some trim or a decal to fill the little divider section on the lights, but we'll find out later this year.
  15. Question, would you ship overseas to the Netherlands?
  16. Thanks Brett, I was literally about to ask whether or not a MPC re-re-re-re-release(or mold, rather) would finally be edited to have some freakin' clear headlights but I see that's a nope. That being said though, looks exactly the same as previous releases just with a very nice updated decal sheet and pad printed tires.
  17. Thanks y'all! Now to find a '69 Charger R/T kit to build with some PE parts to get a nice in between model, maybe in Dodge's sunfire yellow to contrast the orange and red.
  18. Last year I made the Pro Modeler version of the Charger Daytona 440 and just absolutely loved it and since then I've been pining to make the NASCAR stocker that was the second option of the kit. So I stumbled across a new kit(the 2012 re-release with less photo etched parts sadly) and used the bits from the PM kit to make a sort of street stocker to go along with the regular 440 Magnum Daytona. I initially wanted to replicate the Petty blue stocker from the back of the box but I spotted this can of safety jacket orange spray paint over at my work and just... I had to, man I just had to. Winged Warriors \m/
  19. I was going around eBay looking for El Camino kits and stumbled upon it all the while also browsing this section of the forum, that slab of words on the '73 El Camino is nothing short of hilarious. The amount of spite that guy has despite being in the wrong is glorious. I'm glad I found out about your website Jeff, definitely gonna check out the '72 Torino and '73 El Camino. Thank God you guys do overseas shipping, being in Europe and finding quality resin items is basically impossible without begging for folks to do international postage. D:
  20. Definitely going with rattle-cans from now on! They just tend to be on the expensive side for me, being Dutch sucks cause man paid at least fifty bucks on shipping for just the PE and Clearly Scale parts. D:
  21. Oohh I'm gonna be picking one of 'em up, though I wonder; whats the current ETA for the kit? Also it comes with full engine detail, right?
  22. Ran out of gloss black when I got to the tail end while painting it and used this really old tin I dug up, turns out the paint had gone chunky instead of flowy during drying. D: Thanks! They're a tiny bit of an awkward fit all in all but once they fit, man I love how drastically it changes the style. Especially the later Cutlass grilles.
  23. I bought a LSX-442(454 inspired) and some body parts from Clearly Scale resin and figured I'd give the Revell '83 H/O Cutlass a bigger and slightly more sleeper brother. Really wanted to make a bog standard '85 Cutlass 442 but just couldn't find a decal set for the life of me, so ended up going with a '84 grille and the LSX-442 block to at least give it its 442 name. Still got a chin spoiler/airdam I'm considering putting on there so the nose sits slightly lower and I also ordered a bigger hood that actually shuts over the gargantuan engine but I haven't heard back from Jeremy at Clearly Scale since I ordered it so I guess this'll have to do D: And a couple of shots with it's older brother;
  24. I bought from him in late November and got my stuff just after Christmas, but I live in the Netherlands so long deliveries is the least of my concern and his stuff is freakin' epic. I ended up buying again from him on the 5th of January and well yeah, similar issue on my end; no confirmation e-mail, no replies to e-mails, so on since then. So I guess I'mma stay in the same boat, I'll just wait for a couple weeks more.
  25. I should really get some spray cans, yeah... Coming to think of it, I read some folks here use proper auto spray paint, one guy in particular said he had good results with the cans that are meant to spray over repaired patches and such, or should I just stick with Humbrol/Testors enamel? Also, update! I'm awaiting a better hood from Clearly Scale that can take the bigger engine cause right now it sits awkwardly over the engine, and still thinking of adding the air dam to the front cause right now it sits... a bit open.
