Model Cars Magazine Renewals
plastic-mechanic replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
wow. no wonder the guy at the news stand acts annoyed when i ask him when the magazine is coming in. this is almost like the 'resin-casters' thread! -
i don't understand the difference: "Plan your work, work your plan "One test result is worth one thousand expert opinions" - Wernher von Braun "Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something." -Plato "Never give up, never surrender." -Commander Jason Nesmith" same as folks who need to list every item they own at the bottom of their posts as if it contributed to their value in society.

i think "poorly executed" carries such subjectivity that it would be almost impossible to benchmark. it's an internet forum and that's all. don't allow the naysayers - or the brown nosers - sway you from your ideals. enjoy your hobby, and your life. -
yeah, huh. sheesh ...

REVELL FAQs FOR BEGINNERS

i'm always in awe when suggestions like this almost intimidate. knowledge is cumulative, so how could there be too much? -
Exspensive starting up

so how expensive is it to quit? over time, someone has thou$and$ inve$ted in tools, kits, sundries, and maybe aftermarket parts. then decides "i'd rather take up birdwatching; gonna sell off all this modeling stuff and get some really good binoculars." we've all seen the posts in which Jon Q. Gluebomber boasts picking up a shopping cart of kits for $2.00 at the local yard sale. -
Firing order for American engines.
plastic-mechanic replied to Mike C's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
including/ executing correct firing order can encourage research into other details which do get noticed. it's all part of the process, and different people put emphasis on different things. when someone places value on a detail, they tend to extol its value and cannot believe that there are those who would dare not include. but if the detail is deemed frivolous, all who would consider are wasting their time and effort, and in fact may well explain attrition in the Hobby as the elders of the tribe die off. -

with internet commerce, if the website isn't up to snuff, i tend to go where it is. -
Exspensive starting up
plastic-mechanic replied to Chris Evans's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
every few months, most of the forums address this. for the most recent one here, this might help: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/3386-inspired-thinking-cheap-tips-for-frugal-modelers/ -
would it be possible to merge this with the same question/ post-er here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/114166-ford-flathead-4-banger-question/ so all the information is in one thread?
