Well she has mastered two-toned paint (kinda) ? and waterslide decals... the kid's a natural...? She wanted black and white until the model arrived and she seen the molded in blue, she loved it! so It's blue and white..

Interesting idea for this kit, I don't recall ever seeing one done in this style. It would be fun to see it with a wild Lowrider paint scheme with candy colors and lots of pin striping. Try not to take it too seriously. My problem is I'm always thinking about how to improve the kit. It's best to overlook the small problems and just go with it. ? Reguardless, This will be fun to see come together... Here is an example of a Lowrider paint scheme...

My little girl is working hard on taping/painting her Chevy SS cop car. I'm coaching her but she's adamant that she knows what to do.? The white is pretty thick but hopefully it will air out. She does pretty well at spraying flat colors she just needs to learn gloss and flash times...IE Patience...

Stretched sprue comes in handy with alot of scratch building great work on this... I know it's too early to think about paint jobs but I'm hopeful that we'll see some mismatched body panels and foe weathering in an effort to hide the racing bodywork ?

Well I'm off to the races with the Ford Fusion cop car. The hood was molded on so I went to work first thing cutting that open. It's no wonder these kits are popular as slot cars, the plastic is pretty durable not to mention it's a snapper, it's pretty well done for a snap kit too. I plan on adding a push bar, spot lights, light bar and a two tone paint job also. The next point of action will be turning it into a sedan.

Me too... and the Accord is coming together quite well... I like the exhaust location myself ? I was really starting to feel left out seeing all the great action buuuut... Mail Call !!! The Ford Fusion and Chevy SS Nascar Snaptite snappers have arrived! These will become Police Cruiser pursuit cars! So I'm officially announcing my entry... Now if you're wondering why I needed 2 kits... well, it's because my 8 yo daughter Loves the Transformers Barricade Police car from last year's CBR and honestly when it came down to voting for the 2020 CBR I let her use my vote to vote for Barricade. Ever since she seen that build she has wanted to join the Cannonball Ruse with a race car disguised as a Police car! I thought it was genius because nobody would give a speeding police car a second glance. So we searched police cars and found two different racecar kits that could be police cars. This Cannonball Run will have an honorary member building her model along with us. She is really excited! And it's kinda fitting that we're starting from behind with pursuit cars because we have to catch all the contestants now... So the Chase is on! Here is a picture of my neighbor's car, he's a detective for the state.

Yeah, we've been a club for going on nine years and I've been a member on the fourm for about 5 years been building for 30+ years though. I'm always trying to get them to join. But they're kinda an odd bunch. One guy comes to the club meets with a photo album every month full of new developed photos of his builds from the month. I've never seen any of his builds in real life.? One guy is so secretive that you couldn't pay him to see his builds in progress and he really doesn't take criticism to well either. Most of the guys are heavy collectors. They do build and for the most part, build great models. I don't think many would document their build progress like we do here either... Like I said earlier, in my opinion they all believe the fourm is for advanced model builders, even though some of them have been building longer than me. When you hang around with a group of guys who are mainly interested in showing and talking about their own stuff, it's hard to get them convinced that other guys build models too... ? but I don't mind I'm more of a listener anyway.

Well that's good to know I'm not the only one spending money for this CBR. I don't know why I needed a new kit Why couldn't I just pull from my stock pile and be happy? nope not me! One of our club members joined the group for this Challenge... ChineseRandy he wants to join with the IMSA Mustang so that should be interesting lol And as for your car Snake, I know you always seem to find the deals!

I ordered my replacement models by phone from Nicholas Hobbies in Pa. and I shared my story with the lady and the first thing she asked was if they had a Facebook page... Anyways 61 bucks more, the race cars are ordered... I don't really recommend them though they're expensive... some of their kits that you could buy from Hobby lobby are 45-50 bucks each. 60 bucks for two snaptite kits hurts my feelings, not to mention that I spent 43 bucks more than that! ? for a grand total of around $105 just to get them on my desk. then I'll have to spend more on the conversions... Not even gonna break a sweat though. At least It's a good story for conversation.

That's how I got sucked in... I got 4 models for 43 bucks. They wanted 25 dollars to ship one model but if you spent more than 40 then you got the shipping free so I got 2 more, the 2 racecar kits and a Foose Caddy and a checkered box racing champions Red 78 Monte Carlo issue from 2000 with the custom chopper? it was only 9 bucks! That was a red flag on its own... it would've been nice to aleast get a courtesy letter telling me what kind of dope I am. ? Meh... Say, while I'm thinking about it did you ever get the trophy plaque?

They really had me convinced... Oh well, moving on... There is a hobby shop in Broomall Pennsylvania that claims to have the kits I need. I'm gonna call before I order just to be safe... I've already looked up the address on Google maps to make sure it's a brick and mortar store. ?

Yeah Pat, but don't they look so good? We were doing vitural club meets last year and one of our members built this Monte Carlo... kinda the same look you got goin... It's pretty flashy but sometimes sacrifices have to be made! ? and honestly each time I see these sacrifices being made, I can't help but hear Jill saying "220 miles an hour and they aren't gonna get a second glance!" ????

I recently learned that Oscar Koveleski passed away at 88. Oscar is the founder of Autoworld and a road racing legend. He also finished second in the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash along with his teammates Tony Adamowicz and Brad Niemcek. It's nice to know that the Cannonball Run and model cars have that connection. It makes this community build that much more important to me now.

Yeah, I'm starting to lose hope on my own 4 kits I ordered on the 29th... EEEE! So here's an update just for anyone shopping online? You may want to avoid buying from Jocorzol.com ???? The tracking # suggests that it was delivered to the porch on the 30th... despite the fact the order date was 7:40 PM on the 29th... and it was coming from China? So Less than 24 hrs it was delivered????also it was shipped to Washington NC... I live in Staunton Va. Oh and one more thing, the invoice claims I ordered it on Dec 6th even though I really ordered it on the 29th of December... I'm skeptical lol...

I watched a movie last night called Like A Boss and the first thing I noticed was this 80's Toyota the two main characters were driving. It was red so maybe that's why it stuck out, or the fact that it's in really good shape for an old car in a movie from 2020. I like the Nissan, the lines are neat and it's a cool looking inception.
