  1. Biggest thing is more light and at a lower angle, especially in the front.
  2. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to make all the kind comments! It was a fun build and fits in with my out of the ordinary tastes. BTW, I really loved their Apple Strudel and wish it was still available.

  5. The decals were a challenge, I had several logos but only for modern trucks. I found an old Grumman brochure that show an appropriate era truck with the proper logo. The ad wasn't detailed enough to use, but a search of Ebay came up with a suitable option. I took a macro lens on a 46 mp dslr and got a great file. I found a raster function in Photoshop that smoothed the edges and was able to print large enough to do the trick.

  8. I had heard years ago that the handling was better at highway speeds. I also heard it was cheaper to just cut the ends off after minor accidents.
  9. Looks like we have a winner! Decals are printed and drying. Detail painting almost down along with the interior. I still have to fit the front suspension, then decals and window glazing.
  10. Looks great, just one question, how do you plan to get it out of the garage? Those roll up doors are too low!!!!!
  11. Yes and no, I like to search for a specific thing and it gets frustrating when the search engine just dumps everything. Evil-Bay is bad enough, but at least you get the relevant stuff first. Shapeways has relevant items buried hundreds of items in. Seems like I have to scroll thru 1000's of items on the chance I may hit one thing I'm looking for.
  12. Does anyone have any tricks for searching Shapeways? If I search their site for 1/25 Autocar trucks, I get 7000+ hits which include all different scales and at least 6500+ items that have nothing (not a word!) in common with the search request.
  13. Fronts and rears are 5 lug. Rims are about 16.5" diameter. If you want pics, I'll have to get them when I take pics at the next update.

  15. The easiest conversion would be the Chevy long bed K20 into a CUCV. The Chevy Blazer might be tougher as I haven't seen the correct body style in plastic. After that, it gets tough. Possible a Jeep Gladiator into a M718 (Not sure of the exact number). While the Dodge Powerwagons were close cousins of the M37, the bodies were largely different. I was looking for a M37 for years in 1/35(or any other scale) and Roden finaly made one a couple of years ago. I have a 1:1 M37 and have a pretty good idea of which parts are interchangable with the Powerwagon. Support vehicles used by the military were often close to their civi counterparts, so it would be on a case by case basis.

  17. Nope. Not a PD wagon, though that is an interesting idea. It's not a modern paint scheme for the company, retro to maybe 30+ years ago.

  19. Paint coming along, need to do a little touch up, then start the detail painting and decals. Chassis will need a fair amount of work to get the wheels sitting right. Both front and rear axles have a little bend to them and the rear is a bit too narrow. Many of you might guess where this is headed based on the paint scheme.
  20. Well done, I remember seeing them all over the area. There is a set that has done a few truck shows in the area but the cab is white.

  22. That's sweet! I saw a Mack B81X with a similar dump body several years ago. Great job
  23. Unless your compressor is oiless, you run the risk of oil contamination from the compressed air.
