  1. And......I'm working on a '32 Coupe at the same time.
  2. One more thing that's different between the convertible sedan and convertible coupe is the wheelbase. The coupe is 6" shorter. I've shortened the fenders and chassis accordingly.
  3. The rear quarters are the back of a Monogram '32 Phaeton, with the door lines filled in. A portion of the rear apron became the bottom of the trunk lid. The Italeri convertible sedan was cut off between the front and rear doors. That part of the body is the same as a convertible coupe.
  4. I used a Johan '31 Cadillac Convertible Coup as a donor for the rear deck and trunk lid. It's little too narrow for the 1/24th scale '33, and a little too short. So, I added some material to the sides and bottom of the trunk lid. I split the rear deck ahead of the trunk lid and added 2mm to each side.
  5. Also, the Convertible Sedan had two cowl vents built into the back of the hood. The Convertible Coupe had one on the cowl, behind the hood. I added a thin sheet of styrene to the top of the cowl and scribed the one vent where it belongs.
  6. The hoods are different between the Convertible Sedan and the rest of the '33 Cadillacs. It's longer and covers part of the cowl, extending almost to the doors. I needed to use the cowl from the Convertible Sedan, with the correct windshield frame. I cut off the back of that hood and attached it to the cowl, then used the correct hood and firewall from the Town Car, adapted to the other cowl.
  7. I'm using the Italeri town car and convertible-sedan models as a starting point to create a replica of the Convertible Coupe body style. There were three of these built in 1933, and all three are still in existence. Following are pictures of the one I like the best.
  8. Why, Peyote, of course! ? Just kidding. It was meant to be a play on words; Pablo Picasso vs. Pico and his amazing Pegaso; definitely a fine work of art in progress. I've always thought the Z102 (Z 1 or 2?) was pretty cool, but I never for a moment considered modeling it. Seeing Pico tackle it, and making it look easy........well, it's not, but sure fun to watch! Thank you again, Pico.
  9. Is this Pico's Pegaso, or Picasso? I forget, Z1 or 2? ? Awesome work!!
  10. Pico, you've got a good eye for shape and proportion. You've come a long way from the photo with just a big chunk of renshape on the back. I'm sure some folks looked then and thought, 'ok, a camper shell?' It's really coming along though. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
  11. Randy, hang in there. It's looking good! Maybe work on something else for awhile and come back to it. I've read from others the front clip is very challenging.
  12. Very interesting, Pico! Keep it up. Thanks for the link on the putty. ?
  13. Love it, Gary!!
  14. That is Bitchin!
  15. Dennis, you've done it again! Super nice, just loaded with cool details throughout. The engine is great; the fuel lines, detailed valve covers, the generator, and just the right finish on the manifolds, so they look like refinished cast iron. The wheel and tire combo is perfect. I think yours is the first time I've seen anyone widen those Radir wheels for the rear, which makes them look much better. That's a huge difference in diameter from front to rear, and it totally works; they fit the fenders perfectly. Like the bobbed rears too. The louvered deck lid is a nice touch. The paint colors....you get the idea. ? Great job!
  16. This coupe looks so perfect! Love it. What brand and color of paints did you use on the frame, body, wheels and carb's?
  17. These models are really inspiring! I built a stock version years ago, but I'm getting the itch to build some street rods.
  18. Really nice work, Ludwig. The engine detailing, interior and paint are truly exceptional.
  19. Phil, great looking models! Here's my Revell '31.
  20. It's hard to decide sometimes! Bruce, you did a great job. Really nice. I like the black walls too. Thank you for sharing. ?
  21. Excellent!!
  22. Steve, it looks great!! Thanks for sharing with us.
  23. Great work, Phil!! Looks super nice so far. Looking forward to the engine build.
