  1. Welcome! There's a lot of nice, supportive people here, I think you'll enjoy it.
  2. See, I would have guessed that the #76 is in an orange shade, it looks lighter than red to me. Much like the #44 car. The #63 does look yellow. It's really tough to determine the different shades of white from a single black and white photo. Especially with the sun light and shadows being what they are. You may also want to post this in the NASCAR forum where maybe somebody will have firsthand knowledge of the cars and drivers your looking for. I wish I could help more.
  3. This is going to be a really cool looking project. Can't wait to see it done. The three all look white, but it would seem there are guys around that would be able to give you exact details. Not just body color but colors of the numbers etc. It might take some extensive research to find them but I would bet they're out there. Just a matter of how correct you want to make the scene.
  4. That is a wild looking car. Nice build
  5. This is a beautiful car! Looks like you're having a good go at it!
  6. Let's hope this sounds worse than it is. Sepsis and congestive heart failure could both be caused by the pneumonia. With IV antibiotics the pneumonia can start clearing out and the CHF and sepsis will follow suit. Then he can get the hell out the hospital because that's the last place you want to be sick. The worst news could quite possibly be that the chemo is being delayed. All thoughts and prayers are with him. Hang in there brother.
  7. Very nice work. I'd love to see more pics if you got them.
  8. If I had something that worked I wouldn't change either. As newbie with BMF I'm finding that I only get a few sharp cuts before the x-acto starts tearing rather than slicing. It might be that I'm being too heavy handed, but I've also been reading that there's a lot of variability in the quality of x-acto blades.
  9. I've never heard the asterisk called a splat. That's two things I've learned today.
  10. I just received a box of 100 scalpel blades not five minutes before I saw this thread. I can't wait to try them out on some BMF tomorrow!
  11. WOW! You're a great friend. He's gonna owe you a nice steak dinner and some good beer for this one
  12. It's an interesting paint color combo, different from what you would normally see. I like it a lot.
  13. I was wondering how you managed to stripe the vent in the cowl. I built the Foose version of this kit (I posted pics in a thread last night) and they included a decal to cover this area. I couldn't figure out how you could possibly get the decal down into the individual vent openings even if you were to use micro sol (which I didn't know about at the time). I ended up cutting the decal so it didn't cover the cowl. It looks ok but not like it should. I think your version is cooler than mine. Much cleaner with some nice detail work.
  14. I thought your question was interesting so I looked it up. This is my understanding. The symbol # has always been known as a hash. It's also called the pound sign, number sign and an octothorpe (how 'bout that one) . Now it is used in social media applications like Twitter and Instagram to "tag" terms that are being searched in order to find them easier hence the term "hashtag". So technically I just removed the hash when I searched 1117. Sometimes you have to search several different ways but in the end Google knows everything. I'll count this as having learned something new today.
  15. Thanks TJ! The decals I did before I learned about micro sol and micro set. I'm still not entirely comfortable using them both. I'm also not sure about cutting the decals crossing door jambs hood openings etc. Suggestions and constructive criticism are more than welcome. Not just from you but anybody. I'm trying to learn as much as possible and I know I'm missing plenty.
  16. I just received my paint from Gravity Colors for a build I'm doing. Your finish looks amazing! How did it spray out for you?
  17. Really nice rebuild top to bottom!
  18. I love those old interiors that would just punch you in the face with color! Beautiful car!
