  1. Thanks. The paint is Rustoleum color shift.
  2. I built this box stock for a friend of mine. I had built her a few models over the years but a couple years ago her family lost everything in a house fire, they only made it out with the clothes on their backs. I figured it was about time I built her another one to restart her collection.
  3. Just FYI, they are re-releasing some of the M.A.S.K. toys.
  4. We had a couple days of painting weather and I was able to get some clear on the body. I want to get a couple more coats of clear on it, but that will have to wait for some more good weather. I was also able to get the grill detailed an I got the license plates on. More next time.
  5. I built this from a resin kit. The resin kit was based on the truck kit and had a lot wrong with it. I corrected what I could and had to learn to live with what I couldn't. This is a replica of a friend's Suburban. He bought it to restore so he could fit his growing family in it. I built it how he wanted it took when it was done. I stretched a '72 Blazer chassis to fit the Suburban wheel base. I used some resin 8 lug wheels. I cast the Blazer seats so it would have 4 bucket seats like he wants. He has a set of vintage clearance lights he's going to add. He's planning on painting it Kia alien green. He wanted to use a readily available color that was close to the factory color. I got some glue on the windshield. I'm not sure when it happened, I didn't notice it until I already had the interior and chassis installed. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it now. Here's a picture of the 1:1 at the beginning of the restoration. And here's the model.
  6. I built this one box stock from the Polar Lights kit. It was a fun build that took a lot of detail painting.
  7. Nice year Bill! The SSR came out great!
  8. I only have 3 days left, I think I'll make it.
  9. Roy, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln! Super nice, and super fun.
  10. I finished 15 models this year and I purchased 0. I felt like my stash was getting too big and set myself a goal of not buying any new kits this year.
  11. I got the interior and the rear deck done. And I got the detail on the wiring on the body done. Then I was able to do the final instal of the interior and chassis and get the last few pieces of the deck installed. Just a few more pieces to go. More next time.
  12. Thanks. Yeah, having that option definitely made the kit worth building, but I thing I'll go ahead and use the Revell kit for the '48 from Karate Kid.
  13. Day 12 Voodoo GT350 5.2L & 20/21 inch Weld Racing S76 The last one had a bonus item in it! Great detail on the engine, it would look great in pretty much any Ford. The wheels are nice, the rears are almost twice as wide as the fronts, they would look great on something with curvy quarter panels like a '70 Chevelle or a '67 Impala. This advent calendar was a lot of fun and I liked everything in it. If I'm able to find uses for everything, I'd do it again next year. Merry Christmas everyone!
  14. Thanks. This kit really tested my patience.
  15. Day 11 20/21 inch GTA with brakes Crisp detail on the spokes, they're so thin I was a bit worried about getting the wheels out of the tires, but they're strong enough to withstand some handling. These would look great on a 3rd gen Firebird or maybe a Grand Prix.
  16. Day 10 17" '69-'70 Cougar replicas The detail is great, especially on the old school BFG tread. They would look great on a mild custom '69-'70 Cougar or maybe even a Thunderbird.
  17. I built this replica of Biff's '46 Ford from Back To The Future. I used the Testors kit. It came with parts to build it as a '46, '47 or '48. It was fun to learn the differences between the 3 years. I added the trim rings, the side mirror, the support bar between the bumper guards on the front bumper and printed my own plates. Everything else came in the box.
  18. Yeah, that would be perfect!
  19. Day 9 18" beadlock wheels with 33" tires. The tread on the tires is great. They would look good on a truck with a mild lift.
  20. Day 8 Thunderbird Coyote 5.0 Great detail although it might be a little hard to paint because it's 1 piece. It would look good in pretty much any year Thunderbird.
  21. Day 7 20/21" U.S. Mags Rio Grande with brakes. I like the retro look of these. They would look good on a late 60s-early 70s Mopar.
  22. I was wondering that too. I was hoping someone else who got one might comment.
  23. Day 6, half way done. 15" American Racing Eldo with wide whites. More good quality. The spokes are crisp and thin, and the white walls are well done. These would look great on a 30s-50s Cadillac.
