  2. Yeah, buddy!!! Looking good!!! -RRR
  3. No I don't have any close up interior pix. It's right out of the kit, the tuck n roll bench seat with the '40 dash and steering wheel. -RRR
  4. Revell kit, chopped a scale 3". Replicas and Miniatures stock style firewall, intake and headers. Some parts plated by Chrome Tech. Radir wheels from the Revell Thunderbolt kit. Paint is Testors One Hit Inca Gold.... -RRR
  5. When my oldest daughter turned 16 (about ten years ago now) and got her license I handed her the keys to a sweet E36 BMW I saved for her. She learned to drive on that car, a five speed. After owning it (well, technically I still did) for about 16 months she totaled it. She insisted that her next car be a manual tranny. When she was in college, I asked her if she ever let friends drive her car. She said "No, no one knows how to drive a stick". Perfect, I thought to myself. -RRR
  6. Thanks to F.A.S.T. for the award...can you spot the typo??? -RRR
  7. I'm personally keeping Norm at Replicas and Miniatures of MD in business!!! Best resin parts in the biz... I use gaffers tape for seatbelts, it's already black and sticks to the seat. Available at any music store (Guitar Center or Sam Ash or on line) and one roll will outlast you and your heirs. If I'm using really small photo etched harnesses, I will cut strips of post-it note paper and spray paint it black for belt material. Super thin to fit through those small slits....-RRR
  8. Your local auto parts store, I believe it's an Duplicolor or Plastikote color? Sorry, I built this several years ago and the specifics escape me now.... -RRR
  9. Thanks, Marty. Glad you like them...I'm blushing!!! -RRR
  10. Try it now...
  11. This build was modeled after a real car. KK dubbed it The Lowster and the name stuck. The body is from the AMT Beverly Hillbillies car. Buildup pix here: http://public.fotki.com/jferren/t-latest-from-the-r/ ... -RRR
  12. Very well done, indeed!!! -RRR
  13. A slightly different take on the AMT '33 Willys. The chop lent itself to this treatment. Quarter elliptical front springs, four-link rear end with a Ford 9". Yeah, it's got a Hemi. Hacked up interior from the Lil Coffin show rod. Wheels and tires from Modelhaus (RIP)... Buildup pix here: http://public.fotki.com/jferren/33-willys/ Thanks for looking.... -RRR
  14. This is coming along swimmingly!!! One can never have too many louvers.... -RRR
  15. Yes, the rears are from the Caddy kit. Fronts are from the AMT '34 5ive window coop kit.... -RRR
  16. Resin 1937 Hudson Terraplane grille purchased on eBay...http://www.ebay.com/itm/RESIN-1939-Hudson-Teraplane-grill-1-24-1-25-SCALE-MODEL-PART-hot-rod-rat-rod-/262858280116?hash=item3d33930cb4:g:3T8AAOSw0w9YVYcd (bid says '39 but Terrapalnes were only built through '38 I believe) resin body from Jimmy FLintstone... -RRR
  17. They can't ALL have flatheads!!! We decided to mix it up a bit and throw in a vintage SBC just for a change!!! This car won 'Best Paint' at a show.... KK&RRR
  18. Next step was gluing the new nose cones to the rest of the tanker pieces....then, a half round piece of Evergreen tubing was added to the rear of the bottom half for the QC to hang out in...then a quick mock-up of where the internal components will sit...next, opening up a hole for the drivers head and a fairing/air scoop on the top...stay tuned...KK&RRR
  19. Beautiful. Now file off the top leaf of the front spring to drop the front end an RCH and the rake will be perfect. What color ya gonna spray on it? -RRR
  20. Wheels are Revell. Front tires from Polar Lights funny car kit (?). Rears can be assembled by doing this: http://public.fotki.com/jferren/tall-rear-tire-with/ The very nicely done track nose is from Altered States Models: http://www.alteredstatesmodels.com/miscellaneous.htm Custom decals done by Polecat: http://www.polecatdecals.com/ Thanks for all of the kind comments. KK&RRR
  21. The ragtop is from some exiting ragtop that was cut apart, modified and re-assembled. Sorry, I don't remember specifically which kit it came from. Look through the pix here http://public.fotki.com/jferren/32-vicky-cabriolet/ and you can see how I modified the top from the Revell '37 Cabriolet to fit a phantom Vicky Cabriolet, same process.... -RRR
  22. It's str8line racing...not really drag...made from the Slingster kit body with a scratch built front end, scoop from some old pro street car. Slammer style (no chassis, engine or interior). Just a quick fun project. Parts by Parks moon discs... -RRR
  23. After some careful measuring and deliberation it was determined that the pieces that would make the best nose part of the body were the scale rocket nose cones. I had been shipped two of them and since they are very thin it was decided that the best approach would be to use both of them and glue them together. To that end, they were cut in half. To make them thicker and stronger, thin triangle strips of .020" Evergreen styrene were cut and glued to the inside of one cone. Then a liberal amount of CA gloo was poured over that, then the second piece (the inside) was glued in.
