Great subject! This one's near the top of the list of my favorite Porsches. I will have to snatch one of those when I see it! Your engine is coming together nicely. Keep us posted.

Looks like you're getting 'er in shape pretty well. Thanks for the mention about the kit's shortcomings. I know to steer clear of it unless I need intense therapy! That is certainly a great gift to give a three dimensional work of art. She'll love it! I have a few on my list to eventually do. (gift cars, that is...)

Nice job so far! I like the interior colors you picked. Very classy!
-
Wow, you are quite the metal craftsman! Very nice album of work there indeed. Those scratchbuilt engines are truly works of art. Thank you for sharing with us your masterpieces.

Whoa! Yeah Gregg, you're right. I was looking at the mini. The iMac is absolutely a good deal. The upgraded one is even better than the original. A musician friend of mine has the first gen iMac and he loves it. If I had more money to spend I would have strongly considered it, but it was just out of budget.
-
I almost bought the iMac, but when they added up all of the extra things I needed, I decided to step up one step to the laptop. It was about as much money as the MacBook without a monitor! It does not come with the mouse or keyboard. The Apple ones are not cheap and other ones might work but, don't look as cool as the Apple ones do. This pricing is regarding the second level iMac. The bottom one does not have the superdrive, which is a DVD burner. The entry-level notebook doesn't either, but to me it was a much better deal. It depends on your needs and what you already have. I started from nothing and the book was the best choice for me. I don't regret spending a little more money than planned at all.

######, I got so carried away with dictionary-time earlier that I forgot to ask what that motor is. What kind of engine is that? That is a supercharger on top of it with a pair of sidedrafts, right?
-
VERY COOL! I have seen pictures of this in the magazines and I am glad to see it here so I can get a better look at it. This isn't the device that Jairus' post is about, but I thought it was. How does the 1:1 engine work? It's something I've been trying to figure out. Where does the combustion happen? Sorry for the Q's about the 1:1, but I've never seen one of these.

As always , dynamite job! The paint looks like hard candy with sparkles in it. The windows looks really nice too. Did you use acetate, or are they clear styrene?
-
Yeah, my MacBook only takes that long after an update and reboot. I am still surprised about boot time.
-
I wanted to open the bag! I just wanted a good clarification for all of us young 'uns who are new to rods in general. I sure did get it! Thank you!
-
Nice build, Bob! I do like old hot rod builds. Now to play along with Harry... Doesn't "ratrod" = "traditional rod" = "backyard hot rod"?
-
That engine looks phenomenal, Jeff! I always like to see your builds with all the scratchbuilt metal parts. They are an inspiration to all of us. I can't wait to see the butterscotch paint, it is such an unusual car color. Leave it to American Motors for wacky colors....

Thanks for the answer, guys. I didn't think it was valuable, I just didn't want to cut up anything rare. I am not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I'm leaning now towards a mild custom restoration. Right now it is in this shape: As for resin casting the grille Steve, I am not capable of that yet. I'll do some asking at the next club meet to see if anyone does it. I know Norm Veber does, but there might not be enough demand for him to do it.

Very nice! I love the paint. The interior really does it for me as well. Definitely deserving of the trophys! I know I'd be proud of that one if it was mine.

Hi, I looking for some info about this kit. I won it last week at our club auction, and know nothing about it. I did some research and it isn't the Fall Guy truck because his was not a stepside and this one is. If anyone knows if the kit is rare, worth money, or something, let me know. I'm planning to cut it up if it is nothing special. Thanks in advance

Excellent job on the hood! That looks awesome! Now I know what I have to do whenever I have to extend a hood to match up with other bodywork. Every update I see of this looks better and better. Keep us posted!
-
Wow, you did a helluva job with that one! I'd say you made a silk purse out of a sow's ear. All I can say is you race guys really are hardcore to put up with all the decals and multiple colors on many cars. I'm not sure when I'll be ready to tackle one of these things. They almost seem out of my league.
-
I'm sure this will be a stunner like always! This is cool because its the first one of your builds I will be able to watch from the beginning. Like Bill's '55, I'll be sitting back with a big bucket of popcorn and enjoying the show.
-
...there goes my dyslexia flaring up again! At least the meaning doesn't change. B)
-
Cool Charger! I really like the scratchbuilt brass rotisserie its sitting on more though! Very trick piece. The paint on the Vette looks pretty nice too. What did you use?
-
So then the 1/12 scale version must look like 1/18 next to the big 57 Chevy! Seriously, those are two nice builds of the only British car I would consider owning in 1:1 size. I'm with Randy about the one you're finishing up, I am watching that thread too. Keep it up!

Nameless National Luminaries But I don't know what that is supposed to mean. It is a dig at a group of modellers years ago about attending a certain show, apparently. I'm sure someone on here who isn't as new to the game as me can enlighten us further. I am curious about the answer too.
-
Very nice! I especially like the paint. What did you use?
-
Looks dynamite! Another knockout, as usual. I really dig the b/w pic at the end.
