  1. The pipes that distribute the plug wires are cast to the cam covers and as scale as possible - which means that the plug wires are a tight squeeze - six .011 wires will fit - barely - dont think .013 would fit ….
  2. does it ever occur to you that this engine - so carefully constructed - will detinate in half a second on the real thing - if ANYTHING - goes wrong ...
  3. Also adding the hinges to the right side panel per the left …
  4. If you look closely at the picture of the left eng bay panel posted earlier this week - you’ll notice that the hinge at the panel’s base curves - the kit casting pokes out at a right angle - this needs corection on both panels - left and right - the curve is created with quarter round Evergreen strip - glued and shaped with a couple orr needle files - the quarter round strip is old stock that i never need/use - until i need/use it …
  5. All done!! I do hope you like it…. Yes we do !!
  6. Holes drilled for the cam cover bolts - the plug wires will be .011 dia - the plug boots were made fr short lengths of Detail Master coolant hose line - after stripping out the wire - one of the features of the early Columbo V12 was the location of the plugs within the block …
  7. How good are Harold’s castings ? this good …
  8. Francis - you somehow manage to enjoy the great outdoors in your summer months - but now that it's winter - and cold and miserable - you can crawl back into your shop and proceed to build that terrific Dodge Demon - and if you wander over to this end of the Forum - please check in again - compliments / complaints / jokes / rants - its all welcome on this thread - quick note about rants - the moderators don't like those - oh well ... as to the Don Lee Special - I've been itching to build this for years - I took some nice photos at Amelia - but check out photographer Volmeyer's site https://www.volmeyer.com/cars/alfa-romeo-p3-tipo-b-monoposto-1932-chassis-50002/ this is just the greatest walk-a-round photo shoot that the 'net has to offer us ... one last thing, Francis - I dare you to build an 80 year old race car ... maybe an Indy ?? ???
  9. Slow going - gluing one strip at a time …. About six more to go …
  10. Gracias the panel on the Don Lee Spl was fully louvered - which unfortunately means i had to add a bunch of - er - louvers … Using Evergreen .015 by .020 strip - scraped and filed to shape and then CA glued to the resin - using slow curing CA …
  11. barquetta took a nap …. Spent some time with Harold Bradford over the holiday - he allowed me to birth some resin castings for the engine … this is what i pulled from these pink rubner molds …
  12. Changes to lower left hand engine compartment panel - first some filing and cutting - using .40 Evergreen rod - short lengths - to simulate the panel hinge - looks better than the hinge markings on the casting -
  13. Add a screen to the nose and dab a little fluero green to the headlight covers - and you’re there !!

  15. At your service - where might i send my bill ?
  16. Dept of corrections .50 mm bolts … need an editor … pay is not so good ….
  17. Fun with I phones - ive got an older one - i think a 7 - but it has the ability to take focused pix of .05 mm Master Club bolts - destined for the cam covers - the bolt size on the one-to-one is either 7/16 or maybe 9/16 - so the .05s appear small but are close ro scale accurate …
  18. Paint - tamiya silver and gun metal - on the supercharger - and screens on the carb horns …
  19. Well - i cant claim to be a card carrying member of the Polish Race Driver’s Assn - but i still have an unblemished Auto World license plate sheet - just showin’ off … poor Justin has had his thread hi-jacked …
