This is a portion of a drawing in the Merritt book on early Ferraris that i cited a while back - it shows the general layout of the steering box and links - although I couldn’t make posable front wheels i wanted to include these features.

1/8 Pocher Lotus 72
absmiami replied to Chris Smith's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
That much for a kit with bad tires and an only OK engine - convince Mad Mike to print a few more 8th sc Cosworths - use his engine on your old 72 - and you’ll really have something - and as long as im spending ALL of you holiday cash - consider getting those after-market tires - -

The scale is 24th - I used his Cooper casting for my Cooper IX build three yrs ago - all of his castings were thin - and his chosen subjects were almost always unique - i do not think he offered the 16 as a kit - he intended to - but was badly injured in an accident before he was able to offer the 16 in kit form - dont know if anyone else was able to obtain this kit body - would love to know …

This is - i think - the only Lotus 16 in North America - Chapman and Lotus built 8 - per the Taylor Lotus bible - in 58 and 59 - the Barber 16 is an early chassis - Lotus used a series of revisions by Len Terry in 59 - all improvements - although the revised 16 continued to break with regularity - I’m going to build a revised 16 - one is currently for sale in GB - ill get the link and post it - with excellent photos - its one of the last front drive Grand prix cars - not a successful Lotus - but it looked cool - and many of its features were carried forward to the Lotus 18 …

1/8 Pocher Lotus 72
absmiami replied to Chris Smith's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
I actually would love to see a comparo thread involving the old 8th scale kit - which i built 40 (gulp) yrs ago and the Pocher - from what i have seen on line - the Pocher “kit” is not a great improvement - … and i still think Pocher should offer an unpainted kit option … well - i guess the tires are better - the profile of the tires on my older 72 were just poor … -
