  2. Relief city - some careful sanding and grinding corrects the fit and the engine is down on its four mounts - so now ill glue on the right hand distr …
  3. Got one distibutor on - with plug wires - a tight fit - now for an eng bay fitting - and naturally - engine doesnt quite fit - the distr interferes with the bulkhead - and the base of the timing chain cover interferes w the bottom cross brace - but the misses are small - bout a scale inch -
  4. Cam covers on plug wires into looms alternator on - fuel filter added Oil filler pipe glued to base of sump - plus oil dip-stick …
  5. Once the carbs are attached i can finish and glue on the timing chain cover and the cam covers …
  6. I will be able to add the fuel line - the nickel fittings just fit in between the tops of the carbs - they are soldered up from .015 nickel rod and .07 nickel tube -
  7. Thanks straight - doing the carb and plug wire install - back to front - 2 wires - carb - then 4 wires - 2nd carb - its crowded in the V - wanted very much to do the carb linkage - but the cranks and levers would be fighting for space - so not on the Barchetta -
  8. The carb castings slide in and out of the V - allowing me to check the fit and install the plug wires -
  9. The UMI kit actually had very good carb castings - i just cleaned one up and added some of the adjustment screws and bolts - and had brad cast them …
  10. This is the Weber 36 DCF - which was the go-to carb for most 125 series Ferrari V12s. From a great old book on early Ferraris by Merritt …
  11. The Weber carbs - three instead of six on the GTO engine - are painted with Tamiya metallic gray w a splash of mica silver - reminds me of the Testors Metalizer anadonic gray - nice finish for Webers -
  12. The starter was cribbed fr the Veber/Bradford GTO kit w few changes … the exhaust is one of the UMI kit parts that was quite good …

  19. So ive used Master Club .5 mm bolts and some tiny script that is made/sold by Global Toy - Chinese outfit i think - they sell on ebay - the script on every 24th scale Ferrari GTO cam cover i’ve Seen is over-scale - usually twice as large as it should be …
  20. 2 things to notice here - the Ferrari script is really small - and the cam cover bolts are either 7/16 or maybe 9/16 - presenting scale issues in 24th …
  21. Still liking the Tamiya Lacquer bottle paints - the sump is light gun metal w some mica silver - and the cam covers and block are mica silver w a little gun metal - best of all - quick drying and durable -
