    My late friend Augie Hiscano won twice- this is his winning Ford Vicki - on display at the Museum - (or was it three times ?) .. and yes - Jones is a multi time winner - and the Lola is as good in the flesh as it was on my phone these past two years - i know there is mutual respect tween scale master and randy derr - it would be cool to see randy do a video on the Lola and Mark do a video on the Corvette …

    It was a real treat to get a guided tour of this build by the builder- it was the first competition subject to win GSL - over hot rods or customs - but as Scale Master knows - not the last. …

    RC is correct - Berry started with a few kit parts and replaced most of the others with brass components for strength and accuracy - including the suspension fr and rear … and its finished with an epoxy based paint that looks great 40 yrs later …

    Well - this one has been “under glass” for a while - in fact its been in the Model Car Museum in Salt Lake City - its the GSL winner from 1983 - and its builder is Dave Berry of Michigan …. David came to the final GSL and this baby was on the non-compete display table - i remember seeing it in the mags decades ago - david was kind enough to give me a run-down - and consented to this post … ill post a few more pix later …. Its a model that heavily influenced me … and yeah, its really really really good …

    BOS was Randy Derr's bonkers Greenwood Corvette in 12th sc he bested scalemaster's Lola - which was awarded First in his class - I don't want to do the other award winners fr memory - but they will be posted shortly I nabbed a couple of plaques - but my Miller was clobbered by Randy's work and Jon Teresi's great stuff and Jeff Jones' scary 1/8 cutom rod - all in the Replica class - All of the cars and classes are judged by a very few number - I think three - of Championship trustees The debate / evaluation for the big awards must have been epic - Judges were up all Saturday nite ....

Mark, Jim, and Bob were up til 5:30 this morning - just left the banquet and lunching at the airport - ive got some table vids but ive got to get a utube channel to upload them - try to do that end of the week - long story short - wonderful weekend - more later - hope they dont want me to fly the airplane …

    Thanks to all i’m in Salt Lake City - and there swims in the replica class those monsters that keep me up at night - i’ll try to post a video this weekend - the tables are full - with a full day left to enter - and the quality is off the charts - the judges are going to hate each other by about 2 Am sun morning …

    Long story short …. I had not returned to the Mad Mike DOHC Indy engine to finish it - it wore me out - and was languishing in a sushi container on a corner of my workbench …. But since im headed to the last GSL this week - i took a couple / four hours to finish the fuel lines and linkages … the rest of this build can be found farther back in this thread on pages 9-13 moreorless …. More engine please, Mr Mad … don’t worry - i ate the sushi long ago …
