  1. Making The last two shackles - 4 for the rear and two more for the front and glueing the posts to the frame - the springs will grasp Nickel silver posts …
  2. So this is what the bracket looks like glued to the spring …

So i crawled put fr under the Boyle Special and drove home with some knowledge - and LOTS of pictures - the Boyle Special and the Junior Special are both “wide chassis” 122’s with supercharged 122 engines - although the suspension fittings differ slightly - i am satisfied that some assumptions that i made about the suspension on the Junior Special were correct - for one - the bracket that secures the friction shock to the leaf spring makes a “dogleg” away fr the path of the axle ….

  5. Notice that the cyl head uses regular fastener bolts and not acorns - Charles - think you’d mostly find acorn nuts on the trailer queens …
  6. The air box - used often but not always by the factory …. If Charles makes an air box he gets to show off his fabri skills - but then loses some of the detail features on his Webers - to ponder over a beverage …

  13. Gracias - lets see that birdcage crankcase! my next problem is making the bracket that serves as the pickup for the second friction shock for The rear susp …. It runs past the axle without interfering with the path of the axle - its a real head scratcher … cant assemble the rear susp til ive figured this one out …. Of you happen to go to the Amelia concourse this weekend and the Brumos Junior Eight is there …. You mite see a some fool lying on his back under the tail of the car - be sure to say hello …

Nach - your Matra is coming together nicely - Here’s a mockup of the trans case in the frame - Miller was an early adopter of designing parts to do multiple tasks - so the casing serves as the base for the steering links and posts …. The pedals were brushed with Molotow - might dull The finish down - the pedals on the Jr Special appear to be steel but not really polished ..

  16. Relieved To see that the shaft fr the steering box will poke out of the body where its supposed to - that was a concern …
