The Ford GT40 pictured is a K&B hard slot body mounted on an IMC chassis with Herb Deeks wire wheels. The body style is of the early original prototype.

The birth of the Cobra article
Gramps46 replied to vamach1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the link with the Bob Peoples photos. Bob sent me copies of the photos he took of the restored Flip Top. If anyone is doing a detailed build I could provide them via CD, too many to post. -
First Gear makes the Econoline as a diecast. I added decals to make it into the Ford Advance Vehicles support van in England. You Brits might recognize the Don Parker trailer popular in the UK and Europe for transporting racers.

The birth of the Cobra article
Gramps46 replied to vamach1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks guys for posting the PDF file and the Bob Peeples article. Unfortunately Bob Peeples passed away several years ago but he would have loved the attention the Cobras get here on MCM. Rereading the articles today I realize how much more information is available now than back in 2002. -

Rex, Your warned me didn't you! I have a PDF of the article if that would help. And thank you very much my friend. Gary -
Outstanding build but, I am stumped, how did you get the Phillips head screws in scale for the coil?

Thanks for sharing this with us Rex. -
I think I have already posted most of my 2018 activity so I won't take up any more bandwidth with them now. I do want to add though how much I have enjoyed and learned from everybody this past year. Sincerely, Gary

2011 LeMans winning C6R GT2
Gramps46 replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Just happened to swing by Tuesday Morning on the way to the barber shop and low and behold they still had the Braha C6R Corvettes, $4.99 for a white friction one and $9.99 for the R/C version. Thanks again for tip Ismael. -
WIX '67 Chevelle SS396--Now with Snake-Fu! 1/25/18
Gramps46 replied to Snake45's topic in Diecast Corner
Very unusual engineering from my experience but then the only WIX diecast I have are done by ICONS and are nothing like this. Or is this just the WIX advertising and not a WIX model? -
Super nice build. I like what you did with the wheels.

I have seen these models at the local Tuesday Morning variety stores but with thee blacked out windows did not give them a second look. Now that I know what they are I may be tempted to pick one up. Thanks for the background information. -
Another of your very clean builds. Well done and I can attest to the fact that the others are correct, not an easy build. I built the original Aurora version.

I think I like it a lot.

I too like what you have done with this snap kit. The white was an excellent choice.

You Sir have been awarded the title of EMT, Extreme Modeling Transformer 1st Class. What you have done is amazing. Gary -
Beautiful build, congratulations on a job well done.

Pico, it is amazingly beautiful. Watching this come together was an inspiration. Gary

1967 was a great year with a Ford GTMKIV winning Le Mans with AJ Foyt and Dan Gurney. Both IMC and MPC made kits of the winner.

Bob, I was turned off by the how dull and lifeless the 675LT looked but you have breathed new life into it. Congratulations.

Gorgeous build! -
I received an Amazon gift card from my son for Christmas and was kind at a loss on how I wanted to spend it. So I searched on 1/24 diecasts and noticed this Motor Max 1979 Chrysler Lebaron Town and Country Station Wagon. I wanted another tow vehicle instead of pickup trucks so I thought why not? I am actually favorably impressed with it, better than what I expected. The interior has no detail highlighted so some painting is called for but that is about all that I plan to do. Well maybe a trailer hitch.
