Amazing what you have accomplished, simply amazing.

Looking great Jason.

You are right JC I was aware but they did not do any SC types with side pipes and were right hand drive I believe. This model is a real mix of features. Oh I didn't mention, there is an engine with valve covers which say Powered by Ford and with an air cleaner the size of a garbage can lid! I am beginning to wonder if the prototype for the model was an AC MK IV. I know that there were some AC MKIVs (with side pipes and 2 small tail lights per side) produced in the 1980s by Brian Angliss and exported with dealers established here in the states including Muck Motors, perhaps our own Rick Muck. Maybe he can join in.

Recently I was given a Majorette diecast of a 427 Cobra SC in 1/24th scale. What caught my attention first was the erect soft top, then the taillights, and then fuel filler cap. And then there were the head lights which were tiny. The taillights are the small double lights on some Cobras and the fuel cap was on the left side of the rear deck and not the right. Then I turned it over and there was the real surprise. To quote "This car is not manufactured by A.C. Cars LTD. The use of the A.C. trademark is by permission of A.C. Cars Limited." There is no mention of Shelby. While not a particularly desirable diecast as executed by Majorette, it sure is an oddity.

I am looking forward to this build. Please keep us posted with pictures.

Anxious to see what comes next.

I was rummaging around through my files and found this decades old note I sent to Gregg about old Ferrari model kits. I thought some might find it interesting though don't hold me to the accuracy or omissions. Gary Old Ferrari Models revived.doc

Looking good. I think your idea to eliminate the office was the right choice.

David, Of all things I like the tree! Not sure why but it adds texture, shadows, and enhances the setting. Gary

Good looking project. Please keep us posted.

Jason et al, In the photo are the decals I have. The #66 in the lower right hand corner are the small 18MM roundels. The others are the larger 19mm roundels. The second photo shows the Camoradi decals. I have multiple of those if any one is in need of one. Send me a PM and I can mail the #66 and/or the Camoradi. I hope this helps. Gary

I have #66 and #65 decals from Fred Cady in both 18mm and 19mm diameter across the roundel. Would those help?

Nicely done. The strip lights are unique and hanging from the ceiling is a worthy addition. Can we have more pictures please.

Now that is a great looking Porsche. Well done.

I think you are missing the obvious Randy, you need to raise the ceiling.

Very impressive Randy. Thanks for sharing.

Way to go! Looking very good so please keep us posted.

I like what you have done and are planning on doing. I saw a photo of a black Cobra model recently and was really taken with it. Please keep us posted on this one. Oh, your studio gives an interesting light and dark effect which I may give it a try. Thanks for sharing that.

I was comparing it to the 1/24 C10, not the 1/25 AMT Mako, and it does check out correctly. The story goes the Mako Shark was built upon the C1 chassis of XP-700. And interesting the custom parts in the SMP 61 Corvette kit kind of mimic the XP700. (I said kind of)

This is what I am going for with the WIX GT40 MKII. Oops....I was wrong, it does have the Gurney style door hump.
-
Randy is correct the WIX GT40 is labeled 40th Anniversary Special on the bottom. I have used Snake's patented method of using non-acetone finger nail polish remover to take off the nefarious tampo markings and like this a lot better. Will now add the correct markings for the 1966 Le Mans. Just learned IndyCals makes the correct decals to convert to the #8 yellow Le Mans entry.

This picture shows a brief comparison of the Franklin Mint and AMT promo Mako Sharks. At first I thought the FM Mako was too big but I checked the wheel bases including the C10 and they were all correct for their scale. I am assuming the AMT Snapper and the promo are the same since Snake said the paint scheme matches. One thing I thought odd is the exhaust tips are tiny on both models.
