Very nice build of an iconic Dino.

These came in the mail today, a WIX NAPA version of the 427 Cobra and a Motormax 2005 Ford GT. The WIX Cobra is the Elvis Presley Spin Out movie race version without windshield and is up to their usual high standard but I am a bit disappointed in the finish on the side pipes. The side pipes which are prototypically correct for the movie car but look so much better on the blue and silver WIX Cobras. Franklin Mint released the same Spin Out model but with a guitar. The Motormax Ford GT is pretty much standard fare but I wanted to include this year in my diecast Ford GT collection. It is a bit strange that there are no side windows included. I do prefer the Revell Snap Tite version though.

Nice clean builds. Thanks for sharing.

Super build Larry. Fernando has brought us some really neat resin kits and you did this one proud.

I thought it was just me doing something wrong this morning. Thank you for posting this lost editing function.

Looks display worthy to me. I am in the same camp with you and the others when in comes to race car shine, or lack there of, in that era. Well done and thanks for sharing it with us.

Vinegar and steel wool, great idea. Thanks.

I am trying to find a real wide fender one in red I can replicate with the one I just got. Interestingly Majorette released 2 different versions because the rear ends are different. I made the Gulf car from an early release before Majorette did.

Yes, once again you nailed it David with the lighting and atmosphere.

I agree the Majorette GT40 is not that bad. They have now released it in Gulf colors which is appropriate as it is the wide body version but it has no side windows included but the IMC GT40 windows fit perfectly.

Glad to see you brought this one back to life. Well done.

I am impressed with what you are doing here. The wood weathering is very well done.

Amazing what you have accomplished, simply amazing.

Looking great Jason.

You are right JC I was aware but they did not do any SC types with side pipes and were right hand drive I believe. This model is a real mix of features. Oh I didn't mention, there is an engine with valve covers which say Powered by Ford and with an air cleaner the size of a garbage can lid! I am beginning to wonder if the prototype for the model was an AC MK IV. I know that there were some AC MKIVs (with side pipes and 2 small tail lights per side) produced in the 1980s by Brian Angliss and exported with dealers established here in the states including Muck Motors, perhaps our own Rick Muck. Maybe he can join in.

Recently I was given a Majorette diecast of a 427 Cobra SC in 1/24th scale. What caught my attention first was the erect soft top, then the taillights, and then fuel filler cap. And then there were the head lights which were tiny. The taillights are the small double lights on some Cobras and the fuel cap was on the left side of the rear deck and not the right. Then I turned it over and there was the real surprise. To quote "This car is not manufactured by A.C. Cars LTD. The use of the A.C. trademark is by permission of A.C. Cars Limited." There is no mention of Shelby. While not a particularly desirable diecast as executed by Majorette, it sure is an oddity.

Anxious to see what comes next.

I was rummaging around through my files and found this decades old note I sent to Gregg about old Ferrari model kits. I thought some might find it interesting though don't hold me to the accuracy or omissions. Gary Old Ferrari Models revived.doc

Looking good. I think your idea to eliminate the office was the right choice.
