  1. I agree, I started to paint the tires but it was too much work so I just went and grabbed some parts box wheels and tires!
  2. Its a pretty fun kit and with some extra work could really be a good looking model, you should definitely get one!
  3. This is the reissue of the old Monogram kit, this is a very simple kit but I had a lot of fun building it! I used the Californian decals that came with it in an attempt to do a loosely based replica. I only changed a few parts from what came in the kit, the wheels and tires with some white wall stickers I had on the rears, I just thought they looked good! I added some interior parts because that was really plain, basically a seat and steering wheel, the kit engine is just two halves and a couple other parts. I thought it came out pretty decent! Let me know what you guys think!
  4. Hi Jeff, Yes everything has been traded. That ochre kit was the old revell woody kit just in case you wanted to hunt one down!
  5. Scott I have a couple 64’s and a couple 65’s they are pretty rough and missing the bumpers both front and rear. Would you be interested in trading the ones you have or something else? I would be interested in them either way!
  6. Thanks Scott I will check him out, you don’t see stuff for Valiants much in the aftermarket!
  7. I am looking for some long shot parts/decals, I need a stock 69 Torino hood from AMT, an MPC Petty Dodge Dart trunk lid, any 63/64 Plymouth Valiant bumpers front and rear and can be in any condition! Also a set of the Polar Lights Hawaiian Charger funny car decals! Have lots to trade parts, decals or parts kits! Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
  8. That is very cool! If you don’t mind me asking how do you get such perfect body work in the corners of the flares and spoilers?
  9. Moderators please delete everything has been traded!
  10. Yeah could you imagine the lawsuits if that were on instructions today? Sharp edges and hot light bulbs, what a combination!
  11. I was going to wrap the glue in some plastic but then I figured its not going to leak! Actually I looked last night and there were a couple of the EZ Kraft Jeeps on ebay, I was surprised when I saw them!
  12. Just finished some great trades with Scott8950, Fat Brian and Paul Payne. Thanks guys for the awesome stuff and I would trade anytime with these guys!
  13. Mark thanks for the info on these kits, I kind of thought they were from the war but I wasn't sure they would have been producing anything like this even out of wood during the war but I guess it was a good "moral" boost for the young kids at home!
  14. These are really cool models, I have been thinking of making a copy the west kraft jeep and try to cut out my own and build it! I thing it would be pretty easy to trace all the precut parts and transfer them onto wood or even plastic. The wheels might be a little hard for me to cast but I might be able to find an old toy that the wheels would work. My friend Dave had some really cool old kits , my favorite was a Monogram B-17 that was mostly wood and had some red plastic engine cowling and props along with some other stuff in plastic, it was from a little later I guess since it had plastic parts but it was really cool! I would like to have gotten that kit but it was very pricey! Dave was an old time modeler who was really skilled and was into a lot of things, he had a neat little shop in his basement with a couple small lathes and a small mill and just was very talented at making stuff. His son lives there now and does some really good restorations on cars and bikes.
  15. I have been organizing some of my models to try and make some more room for all the great kits that will be out soon and I came across these kits that I got from a very good friend and a great modeler when he passed several years ago. Dave had some of the coolest stuff I have ever seen, his main focus was trains and boy he had some awesome stuff! So I just thought I would post these kits cause I think they are really cool from the box art to the way the kits are made. Let me know what you guys think of these! my favorite is the west Kraft super jeep, it is missing some parts but I think it is cool! It has the tires molded in a hard material not sure what it is, the instructions say copyright 1943 so I’m not sure when it was made. It came with olive drab dope and glue and precut parts! the bazooka came in the mail with the 3 cent stamp! It just is some dowel rod and a few other parts! the ez Kraft jeep is pre cut and the tires are cardboard that are multiple parts, I didn’t want to open the bags that Dave put these in so as not to loose anything. the amphibian jeep is also an ez Kraft pre cut kit, I didn’t want to open it up as it is wrapped in wax paper! I just thought these are really cool and wanted to share them and see what you guys think!
  16. The Corvette stuff has been traded.
  17. All the hot rod stuff has been traded!
  18. I have some miscellaneous stuff that I came across in my parts boxes and wanted to see if anyone has any interest in it. These are all parts or parts kits and stuff is missing or broken. There is a Monogram 32 Ford roadster that the chrome is off all the parts and missing a wheel and tire along with other parts, an AMT viper that is missing wheels and tires and glass plus other parts, a few parts from a Revell “Woodstock” Ford woody kit, an AMT tall T built up that the body is decent, a junk Revell Outlaw, a 1/20 scale MPC? Corvette kit that is missing tires and has a spare body. There is also about 100 or so dash plaque’s from various car cruises in the western PA eastern Ohio area, the photo album they are in is included, not sure if anyone is interested in those but figured I give it a shot! A couple things I would be looking for is a 68/69 Torino stock hood, a Petty Dart trunk lid any 64/65 Valiant bumpers/grille or make an offer! I would like to move this stuff along to someone who could use it!
  19. Just finished a couple trades with Vettegasser, will trade with anytime! Thanks!!!
  20. Thanks for the photos, that’s a nice color combo on that!
  21. To clarify I have trouble telling them apart when they have vey little warp, most are pretty easy to spot!
  22. I also stay away from the early promos that warp, that’s why I was a little concerned about this 58, I sometimes have a little trouble telling them apart but everyone here gave me some good tips to make sure I’m getting a kit!
  23. Steve that is a beautiful 58! As all of your stuff is! What hubcaps did you use? Those early interiors are very shallow, this was missing a dash and steering wheel, I picked a dash up on eBay and I’m sure I have a parts box steering wheel that should look ok. The missing window might be a little troublesome because I have tried to make replacements for some other 50’s kits and I struggle with it, they never fit!
  24. Mark, what year was the first AMT styrene promos made? Was it 61 or 62? Were the 58 kits and promos made from the same molds or did they require different molds due to the acetate or styrene? Just curious!
