  1. Does it have any effect on clear coating over the decals? I usually clear over decals so they don’t lift later on.
  2. Thanks for the comments and tips!
  3. Thanks for all the comments guys!
  4. That is extremely cool!
  5. I've never tried dish soap in the water, does it help the decal slide around on the model better? I will give it a try!!!
  6. I am looking for some vintage stuff that I know is going to be a long shot, but the members have helped me out before so it can’t hurt to ask! I am looking for any 1968 Chrysler Imperial promo parts in pretty much any condition, all I have is a body. a 67 or 68 Cougar front bumper, this is going to be a bit of a custom so I think I could make the funny car work also. l also still could use a Plymouth Petty Dart sportsman trunk again in pretty much any condition! Thanks in advance!
  7. I recently finished this 65 Plymouth altered wheelbase from the Moebius kit. I think these are really nice kits with a couple building options and some good parts left for the parts box! For the most part everything fit really well, some fit issues were my fault from not enough test fitting. This was a fun build! The grille is very finely engraved, I tried several different ways to get a black wash on it from very thin paint to ink to Microsol black wash. Any tips on doing this better would be awesome cause I have a couple others to build. The worst part was the decals, every decal tore no matter how careful I was, they came off the backing very easy but if I tried to slide it into place on the car they tore, that’s why the one side lettering is not positioned very well, I was afraid of tearing it more. Let me know what you guys think, all comments welcome!
  8. Very cool looking, love the color!
  9. Thanks guys for all the comments!
  10. I agree, I started to paint the tires but it was too much work so I just went and grabbed some parts box wheels and tires!
  11. Its a pretty fun kit and with some extra work could really be a good looking model, you should definitely get one!
  12. This is the reissue of the old Monogram kit, this is a very simple kit but I had a lot of fun building it! I used the Californian decals that came with it in an attempt to do a loosely based replica. I only changed a few parts from what came in the kit, the wheels and tires with some white wall stickers I had on the rears, I just thought they looked good! I added some interior parts because that was really plain, basically a seat and steering wheel, the kit engine is just two halves and a couple other parts. I thought it came out pretty decent! Let me know what you guys think!
  13. That is very cool! If you don’t mind me asking how do you get such perfect body work in the corners of the flares and spoilers?
  14. Yeah could you imagine the lawsuits if that were on instructions today? Sharp edges and hot light bulbs, what a combination!
  15. I was going to wrap the glue in some plastic but then I figured its not going to leak! Actually I looked last night and there were a couple of the EZ Kraft Jeeps on ebay, I was surprised when I saw them!
  16. Just finished some great trades with Scott8950, Fat Brian and Paul Payne. Thanks guys for the awesome stuff and I would trade anytime with these guys!
  17. Mark thanks for the info on these kits, I kind of thought they were from the war but I wasn't sure they would have been producing anything like this even out of wood during the war but I guess it was a good "moral" boost for the young kids at home!
  18. These are really cool models, I have been thinking of making a copy the west kraft jeep and try to cut out my own and build it! I thing it would be pretty easy to trace all the precut parts and transfer them onto wood or even plastic. The wheels might be a little hard for me to cast but I might be able to find an old toy that the wheels would work. My friend Dave had some really cool old kits , my favorite was a Monogram B-17 that was mostly wood and had some red plastic engine cowling and props along with some other stuff in plastic, it was from a little later I guess since it had plastic parts but it was really cool! I would like to have gotten that kit but it was very pricey! Dave was an old time modeler who was really skilled and was into a lot of things, he had a neat little shop in his basement with a couple small lathes and a small mill and just was very talented at making stuff. His son lives there now and does some really good restorations on cars and bikes.
  19. I have been organizing some of my models to try and make some more room for all the great kits that will be out soon and I came across these kits that I got from a very good friend and a great modeler when he passed several years ago. Dave had some of the coolest stuff I have ever seen, his main focus was trains and boy he had some awesome stuff! So I just thought I would post these kits cause I think they are really cool from the box art to the way the kits are made. Let me know what you guys think of these! my favorite is the west Kraft super jeep, it is missing some parts but I think it is cool! It has the tires molded in a hard material not sure what it is, the instructions say copyright 1943 so I’m not sure when it was made. It came with olive drab dope and glue and precut parts! the bazooka came in the mail with the 3 cent stamp! It just is some dowel rod and a few other parts! the ez Kraft jeep is pre cut and the tires are cardboard that are multiple parts, I didn’t want to open the bags that Dave put these in so as not to loose anything. the amphibian jeep is also an ez Kraft pre cut kit, I didn’t want to open it up as it is wrapped in wax paper! I just thought these are really cool and wanted to share them and see what you guys think!
  20. Just finished a couple trades with Vettegasser, will trade with anytime! Thanks!!!
  21. Thanks for the photos, that’s a nice color combo on that!
  22. To clarify I have trouble telling them apart when they have vey little warp, most are pretty easy to spot!
  23. I also stay away from the early promos that warp, that’s why I was a little concerned about this 58, I sometimes have a little trouble telling them apart but everyone here gave me some good tips to make sure I’m getting a kit!
