Jo-Han '64 Cadillac Eldorado conversion for Trade
fordf-100 replied to chryslerjunkandstuff's topic in Trading Post
Hey Nick how’s it going? Hey I’m interested in the Caddy, I have a complete Buick Gran National in a bag and I think a Revell 59 Ford Skyliner in a bag, molded in green, I’ll check on that! Let me know if you have any interest, thanks! Phil ps we traded for the Camaro you had and a couple other things! -

This is an original Monogram 1/12 scale Wright Cyclone 9 radial engine. I picked this up on eBay for pretty cheap, it was complete but the parts were all off the spruces which wasn’t a big deal! Everything was in good shape except for the ignition harness and the oil pipe and the low tension lead, these were molded in gold and very brittle, they broke as soon as you handled them. The rest was in good shape! I think this is the original issue dated 1959 and the molding was really nice and very detailed! I had a blast building this and I think it came out ok! I have seen these kits in various reissues from Revell to Atlantis and always wanted to build one but what really got me going was this past summer my wife booked me a flight on the CAF B-24 “DIAMOND LIL” which I really wanted to go on as my moms cousin was a gunner on a B-24 in WWII and was shot down over Czechoslovakia in 1944 and was killed in action. I tried twice to get on the B-24 and both times it was grounded due to engine problems so they asked if I wanted to upgrade to the B-29 “FIFI” and I jumped at the chance! And it was incredibly cool! About 10 years ago for Father’s Day my wife booked me on “PANCHITO” a B-25, we ended up with my wife and daughter going on that! So that was my motivation behind building this! One thing about going to a WWII air show is the incredible sound of the engines! Let me know what you guys think of this build! All comments welcome!

I have a Horizon 1/24 scale resin 1950’s Batmobile. This is long out of production as far as I can tell. This is complete and in very good shape, still in original plastic bags. This is a great kit if you’re interested in Batman items! Would like to trade for something of equal or near equal value, not sure of the value so let me know what you have!

These are supposed to be laughing emojis, I guess it changes to question marks!

I didn’t do much on the windows, I filed the tabs on the windows for a little better fit then bare metal foiled them on the car which was tough for me cause that chrome strip is really small!

Thanks for the tips David! Yours look great! Do you thin the black enamel at all? I’ve tried with acrylic black and I get now why I had horrible luck with it!

Thanks for the comments everyone! So as I was looking at the pictures which to me sometimes make flaws easier for me to see on my models I noticed my grille wash looks like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. On this kit it was the first time I tried Tamiya panel line accent on the hood, trunk and door lines, that came out ok I think for a first time! I also used it on the grille and it doesn't look good, should that not be used on grilles and similar stuff? I'm sure this is covered else where but what should I use for grille washes? I have tried thinned black paint, black ink and I just cant seem to kit a nice looking wash on a grille, any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

This is the 1/24 Aston Martin from the Revell easy click kit. I didn’t want to build this as the James Bond car so I filled in the roof for the ejection seat and the trunk for the bullet proof shield. I put some parts box wheels from the 2000 T Bird and went with some MCW fire mist orange paint, I also cut out the front license plate holder from the bumper. Overall I was pretty happy how it came out but I’m not thrilled with how the wheels fit. Let me know what yo7 guys think!

The Barracuda is spoken for as is the 59 and 61 Fords, Also a fellow member let me know that the COE is actually a GMC and is still available! Thanks! Phil

I have a couple resin bodies I would like to trade! The Barracuda is from an unknown manufacturer and has a kit glass, partial interior and chassis, the 61 Ford 2 door sedan is new and had vacuum formed glass, the 59 Ford wagon is new and the Ford COE is also new and all three are from Jimmy Flintstone. Would like to trade all together but probably can work out splitting them up. Would be interested in kits or maybe some interesting built ups, I can send more pics if needed, let me know what you have! Thanks!

Looks really good! Closing up the wheel wells and using those tires makes a huge improvement! -
