  1. Yep. It's a challenging kit. In my opinion those tires are too large for the car. However, you you did an excellent build up. The '37 has some of the best styling of the period, IMHO.
  2. I've forgotten to update this thread with my latest accomplishment with this model. That would be the Best Paint award at the MAGS show in Tampa, this past spring. It won over about 200 shiny models. It was a great day for me.
  3. Okay, last update before it's Under Glass. Body has been dull-coated and the interior is done. Since this is just a shelf model and it's got a chopped roof, and the insert is glued in place, I decided not to use the excellent kit supplied stick shift and steering wheel. I'll save them for a better build. I just grabbed a couple of so-so parts from he parts bin. Just a few things left to do and ready for final assembly. I plan to be done by this time next week. Beginning work on the rear coil overs. Two shots of the front end. Fabbed the drag link from the original part. Since I altered the front suspension, the front shocks no longer fit so I omitted them and added some friction shocks.
  4. Did you try contacting the company and express your concerns?
  5. $50 for an opened, incomplete vintage AMT '25 T Double Kit. About two years before Round2 re-released it.
  6. FYI. Just a heads up. Note how the instructions have you assemble the interior. I do not recommend joining the floor to the chassis when it says to, I'm very happy I didn't. When assembled the interior is VERY difficult to put in the body. I recommend only doing it once.
  7. Thanks Tim. Rest assured that I crafted mounts for both the Paxton and alternator. No floaters round here. Some more done today. The last of the body decals. Very simple stripe. And the exhaust is done. I realize that most folks would have done something else, but I'm quite happy with it. It looks great when the body is in place. Just a heads up. Note how the instructions have you assemble the interior. I do not recommend joining the floor to the chassis when it says to, I'm very happy I didn't. When assembled the interior is VERY difficult to put in the body. I recommend only doing it once. Next up is fabbing a new drag link. The stretched chassis made the kit pieces too short.
  8. The report you linked says otherwise.
  9. I'm sure it will get you around the golf course in fine style.
  10. That was my experience several years ago, I haven't tried it since.
  11. I don't recall ever seeing this kit before. I would love to see that reissued.
  12. I'll be checking it out. Glad to see your back at it.
  13. Excellent work. And great to see one in the "completed" column from you Darren. If I might be so bold though, I don't think the skull headlight works with the rest of the build though. It looks great, but it doesn't fit the theme.
  14. I've really come to appreciate the whole pro-touring trend. At first I figured it was just another trend like pro-street. But unlike pro-street, pro-touring makes a car more streetable when it's done, albeit a "bit" faster. So I think it'll be popular for quite a while. I have at least two pro-touring builds in the planning stages.
  15. No but I have a WIP in the On the Workbench section.
  16. I quite agree. But an entire generation of millennials grew up on this stuff. As a kid from the 70's, I don't dislike Bugs and Daffy now that I'm an adult, and still watch the old toons occasionally. So I don't hold it against my sons.
  17. Got some work done. Remote oil filter plumbed. Intake, air hat and exhaust ready for primer. Cab decals. More decals tomorrow.
  18. You aren't wrong. But it is my wife's truck and aside from checking the fluids every weekend, I don't mess with it. I keep my car pretty clean, but she is apparently uninterested in washing the truck. As long as it's mechanically sound, I don't care either.
  19. Unfortunately, no modeling done this weekend. I did however get this accomplished over the weekend. I replaced the fender and the headlight. Considering my auto-mechanical skills consist of maintaining the magical fluid levels that keep these machines running and righty-tighty, lefty-loosey, it was a pretty big job. I'll throw some Duplicolor and clear to keep it from rusting this fall. Still have to drop by Dodge to get the proper clips to re-install the fenderwell liner. They are unfortunately, a one time use part.
  20. Very good work. I particularly using lighting for the drop light and the welder. Well done.
  21. Thanks guys. I will get some bench time tomorrow.
  22. Sorry. When they deemed themselves worthy to remake True Grit, and gave us that travesty, they lost my respect. Ridley would get my vote. I will see his films on faith alone. My favorite is A Kingdom of Heaven. , Burton, Tarantino, and Abrams are also favorites that will pull me into a theater.
  23. Very nicely done. Builds like this are just good for you. Low stress. Just paint, decal and assemble.
