  1. Yep. I've been looking for one for a long while.
  2. Well since the furlough is over but the model ain't I figure it's time to change the thread title. Everything is going together well. I have the modified the original oil bath air filter to be the air box on the top of the carb from the Paxton. I'm going to use a standard cone air filter for intake unless someones got a better idea. My exhaust idea is going to be scrapped. The rear ladder bars are hard to work around. So back to the drawing board on exhaust. Pics tonight.
  3. I like this very much. Keep it going.
  4. If I click on the link and I'm NOT logged into the HAMB forums, I can see the content. If I AM logged in, I get the error message. That's some weird stuff.
  5. That '37 is an excellent kit and you knocked it out of the ballpark. The graphics look great.
  6. White Lightning is a pearl paint. I suppose lighting has a lot to do with how it looks in photographs. Howard, it's a good looking Chevy. I just wish you'd completed the foiling.
  7. I'm either case, I get. THE H.A.M.B. - ERRORYou do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.
  8. Well I surely hope they make their molds and other materials available to some other aftermarket vendor after they have finished their backlog.
  9. Ditto. But it could be because of my work PC. I'll try at home tonight.
  10. If you strip those wheels and paint them, that rough texture is much less noticeable. The way light comes off the chrome makes it look worse than it is. Here's a WIP shot of the Sock-It-To-Me Vette wheels, painted Krylon metallic silver.
  11. This car is just hideous. However, an engine with two centrifugal superchargers, that's of interest to me. How well is it done?
  12. Hmm. DOn't care for the nose on the 1:1, but the model looks great. I'd buy that.
  13. Phils, Model Citizen and Jackson Bros are fairly close. House of Hobbies is 20-30 mins away down US19 depending on traffic. I do recommend Model Citizen, as the previous owner was big on buying collections so there's an outstanding model car selection.
  14. My advice to you is to find a local model club, and go to some local contests. There is a New Jersey chapter if IPMS. http://njipms.org/ Also check out Jerry's Cherrys forum here. http://jerryscherrys.freeforums.net/ They have monthly and yearly contests.
  15. Dave, I ran the one from last year. This year I just had too much on my plate to think of it.
  16. Tampa is kinda lacking in hobby shops. But we have plenty across the bay in Pinellas County. We have House of Hobbies in Palm Harbor as Rex mentioned. The couple that runs that store are nearly an institution here in Tampa Bay. I used to buy from them when I was a kid, when they had a store on Main Street in New Port Richey in the 80's. But we also have Jackson Bros on Gulf to Bay, Phil's Hobbies on Park Blvd, and Model Citizen (formerly Ralph's) on 66st St.
  17. VERY nicely done. Great work.
  18. My name is Rob Mattis and I approve this idea.
  19. Oh I disagree. For me, contrast is very important on a car. Which is why I never seem to like anything modern. The stripe was a great bit of contrast in an awful lot of silver. Maybe try again with some red decal paper rather than the mylar (or whatever it was you used).
  20. I like that quite a lot. The hood decals are striking and the paint work nicely. The black grill has me scratching my head though and it seems out of place. I may pick one of these up myself.
  21. Well I must say, the internet has surely improved my music enjoyment while working. Pandora is my go-to. I have everything from Neil Diamond to Bond to Ozzy Osbourne and everything in between. Youtube has been very cool too, as I can que up a complete concert and listen to the whole thing. TV is a distraction, but I love having an auction on. If Mecum or Barrett Jackson are on, it keeps me firmly in the zone. I mostly just listen unless something notable comes up and then I may look up for a minute. Silence? No. I don't do silence. My mind wanders too much, it it provides it's own distractions.
  22. It's amazing. A solid week of no work and I was unable to get more done. It's like one life-problem arose after the other, one family obligation after another. Oh well, such is life. Bernard, it's a terrific kit. It sure did need a 1/4 inch stretch. Not only for the longer engine but the extra set of pulleys that are needed for the Paxton. Even so, when all was glued together and painted, I have just a hairs breadth of space between the lower pulley and the front cross-member. More soon.
  23. Based on the rarity, it's basically 1 of none, as Cobras didn't even exist when it was made. The popularity of Cobras, and the reputation of Shelby, and respect that the automotive world has for the man and his work, this might be the only car in the world that could be called - priceless?
