  1. The Fonz and I approve.
  2. Mans ruin? You mean a woman with a credit card? Looking good so far.
  3. Mack, Thanks very much. The more I see, the more I like. It's quite a departure from the extra long sleek Batmobiles but it sure does look powerful. You did a great job working those fender flares in for those huge tires. Real neat work.
  4. I have found that using a flat clear over a semi-gloss is the best way to avoid blushing. I live in Florida so humidity is the name of the game here. A semi-gloss paint hasn't blushed for me yet, and the flat clear doesn't seem to either, but knocks down the semi-gloss nicely.
  5. I'm sure you are correct Bill, but the whole thing still looks odd. What trailer has so little width between the fenders?

Very nicely done. I dig it. Hope to see it someday.
  7. Thanks for the grin, fellow Browncoat.
  8. Greg, are you absolutely positive that this is supposed to remain on the fenders? Those center pieces are very undefined and look very much like they are part of the sprue tree. What kit is this from? I would make a good re-inspection of the instructions and make sure.
  9. I think that's a pretty good definition if you ask me. I think that would be a cool idea.
  10. Very nicely done. Great work.
  11. How about these? The effects are layered on one another so you could cut these down to fit whatever area you want to fill. It's from the Monogram '64 GTO. It's just about as 90's as you could want.
  12. Very nicely done. I like everything about it.
  13. Pretty short list '66-'67 Chargers pretty much any fastback And since it was my first car, the '75 Olds Delta 88 2 door is a favorite too.
  14. Very cool. I really like this. I have seen some of the mini-truck modelers use the cantilever airbags, but no one yet on the rat rod scene. Very nicely done.
  15. Great looking model. What foil did you use for the trim? It doesn't look like it was burnished down enough.
  16. Considering what a mess this could turn into, I'd mask the outside window area with Bare-Metal foil. To get the best possible seal. Afterwards, I'd remove the foil from the areas you want black, leaving the window still foiled. Then do the rubber parts in Sharpie marker.
  17. I really appreciate the originality of this and the workmanship looks good. Some better photos, perhaps outside, would do it more justice.
  18. Yep. Recently, a barely-making-a-profit hobby shop in town has been sold, renamed, cleaned up by new owner who has filled his store with all manner of sci-fi and mecha model kits and is doing very well now. I started my eldest son building car models but these mech kits with the anime and a subculture behind them are where his interest is at this time. And this goes double for me. The future of this hobby looks just fine for the remainder of at least my lifetime. I'll turn 48 in June and I'm still a youngster to many here. Beyond that it's someone elses problem. I do really appreciate that Revell and Round2 seem to understand who their target customers are now and are planning their kits accordingly. If, as the eldest of us start to pass on and sales perhaps dip, that may change. But by then I'll have all the kits I need.
  19. Add some sheet plastic with a solvent based glue like Tenax or Plastruct to fill the gap and then reattach the part with the same stuff. For strength there is nothing better than melting the parts back together.
  20. I had the same problem. Should probably get my eyes checked.
  21. For while a few year back, banners and sig photos got popular here and other forums so I made this banner. After a few days though I started to feel I was showboating a bit and took it down. Having said that, I have no problem with Ron's Pontiac, mostly because it's just that one model. He doesn't change it every week or month so he's not try to show off, it just has a special meaning to him.
  22. I think the stairs would work nicely for something modern or a race car. The transplanted hood side vents work but only in a functional way. If that car was a dry lakes racer, they'd be perfect. If that car was meant to be aesthetically pleasing, then they wouldn't because they are in a straight line while the hood is curved. Having said that, you did a great job doing the bodywork.
  23. Yeah, but it doesn't corner worth a darn.
  24. Yep, I like that. Very nicely done. Good authentic weathering and attitude.
