  1. Man, that is very impressive. Great work.
  2. Yeah. We hate teasers. Please don't post without pics. It makes us crazy.
  3. Looking good Bernard. I did an near identical channel on my roadster, but left the suspension alone. I'm looking forward to seeing the project.
  4. Yeah I suppose I'm a bit luckier in that respect. The first gens are much less desirable to most Mopar types (for reasons I don't understand), and I have seen some nice ones go for reasonable prices on auctions. One in my garage, may yet happen.
  5. Yeah, from that link. So he's looking for people to pay him to move to the states? So that he can go to car shows for a car he no longer owns? Seriously? Hey guys, now I'M looking for sponsors to pay me so that I can stay home and build models. Sound about right? Wow. This guy is seriously lost in fantasyland. William, I admire your loyalty and your hope that this guy is a man of his word, but I think you might be disappointed here.
  6. Instead of an emery board, I'd recommend nail care sanding sticks available at your local beauty supply store like Sally's.
  7. There was a house a few blocks away when I was a kid that had this big full sized machine that just roared. But beyond the sound of it, there was a lot aesthetic design choices that really spoke to me, even at the age of 13. The full grill with hide-away headlights, the full width tail lights, fastback roofline, sculpted body lines. It wasn't until I discovered this kit, that I even knew what kind of car it was. Afterward I often saw and spoke to the owner and he'd tell me all about the Charger (a '67 with a 440 and a 4 speed if I recall correctly). I've been in love with this car and the models of it ever since. I hope to own one some day.
  8. The closest thing I have is a repaint on a fifteen year old build up. Before: a nasty enamel in Boyd's Teal Green After : two tone Duplicolor lacquers and clear.
  9. I dig it Fred. The whole thing works.
  10. Man, I do like where this is going. MORE!
  11. Hey that's a great looking model. Gotta give you some props for getting the decals to lay down over the louvers. That would have driven me to drink. The lack of anything supporting alternators, pumps, compressors etc, is Harry's pet peeve. He's a good guy. The biggest improvement you could make here, is cleaning up the parts before you assemble. See the tab at the top of the grill insert? Or at the bottom of the steering wheel? Trimming those up and sanding the spot with a sanding stick will dramatically effect how well things fit. Keep on posting. Looking forward to seeing more.
  12. I'd kill to get my hands on those early '66 / '67 kits.
  13. Nice work! I like it.
  14. Yep. I agree completely.
  15. You can't blame a guy in this day and age, to try and make a buck on his only claim to fame. I'll agree though, that while it is unusual, it's just not that cool a hot rod.
  16. True. A Nissan Sentra with a pizza delivery sign could be considered commercial. Lots of possibilities.
  17. Love this one.
  18. Wow. That's some beautiful work.
  19. Fine Scale Modelers forum would be a better source for you I think.
  20. This is true. We've had some entrants in vehicles that could never actually finish a Cannonball, but it's all in good fun, and we've never had one of those models win the CBP so it has never been an issue. The voters are excellent at picking the right racer. Edit: Here's another idea. As some of you know, Brock Yates (the originator of the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash) isn't doing well, suffering from Alzheimer's disease. How about a race theme of 1972 (only vehicles/equipment 1972 and older) commemorating the last time he and Dan Gurney won the Cannonball?
  21. Very nicely done! It has a great authentic look. I wouldn't even call it a rat rod. Aside from the seats it looks more like a period 40's/50's jalopy.
  22. Agree 100%. A beautiful car.
  23. Although there hasn't been any discussion on who's running it, I thought I'd post this up. Every year since we've started this CBP, there has been a theme. We've done, Anything Goes, Route 66, 1981 and older, and a few others. What I'd like, is that if you are interested in participating, to suggest a theme that might be fun. Some themes that we have kicked around before but haven't done yet are. Cannonball Canada (vehicles that look like they'd perform well "off the paved roads") Cannonball in the 21st Century (all cars 2000 or newer) Muscle Car Cannonball (cars and equipment from 1964-1976) Racing the Cannonball (only liveried race cars of any sort, but must be street legal) The old stand-by theme "Anything Goes", is always a favorite so feel free to suggest it if that's what you want. Throw out some suggestions, lets see what folks think. Thanks very much.
  24. No idea yet. The theme changes year to year. It also depends on who's running it. That also changes quite often. Nick has been pretty busy with life so we'll have to wait and see. Stay tuned.
  25. So there's a second set of spark plugs on the right side. That might be a good detail to add if you can Harry. Some good looking work.
